  1. found this on another site:   Thank you for contacting Wal-Mart regarding our concealed handgun policy. Wal-Mart was founded by Sam Walton on three basic principles. Strive for Excellence, Service to our Customers, and Respect for the Individual. It is that respect for the individual that led us to create the current policy pertaining to concealed handguns. The following is our policy......If a Wal-Mart customer has been awarded a concealed handgun license by the state government, Wal-Mart will follow the direction of the state. However, if at anytime while on Wal-Mart property, that customer's concealed weapon becomes visible to Wal-Mart associates or customers, Wal-Mart reserves the right to ask the customer to either reposition the weapon so that it will not be visible, to remove the weapon completely or to leave Wal-Mart property, With the exception of law enforcement personnel, Wal-Mart does not allow any exposed weapons to be worn or carried in public view on Wal-Mart property or in Wal-Mart stores. Customers other than law enforcement personnel wearing or carrying a weapon in an exposed manner will be asked to leave the property immediately. We appreciate your concern and trust that this message has addressed your concerns regarding this issue. Thank you, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc." As you can see the date of the replay is 1999 so I'm unsure if they still follow this policy or if it has been changed to meet the times. I searched more and have been unable to find anything saying it was changed.
  2. I'm not going to get into a religious debate or a political one. I'm just stating that all religions face persecution at one time or another. And christianity has not always been the peaceful religion you are taught in sunday school.   That being said, I am a baptist christian. I know i'm not perfect and i never try to be. I know I won't condemn the whole group for what one small sect has done.
  3. Persecution for heresy and blasphemy[edit] Main articles: Heresy and Blasphemy See also: Christian heresy and Heresy in Orthodox Judaism The persecution of beliefs that are deemed schismatic is one thing; the persecution of beliefs that are deemed heretic or blasphemous is another. Although a public disagreement on secondary matters might be serious enough, it has often only led to religious discrimination. A public renouncement of core elements of a religious doctrine under the same circumstances, on the other hand, would have put one far greater danger. While a dissenter from its official Church was only faced with fines and imprisonment in Protestant England, six people were executed for heresy or blasphemy during the reign of Elizabeth I, and two more in 1612 under James I.[14] Similarly, heretical sects like Cathars, Waldensians and Lollards were brutally suppressed in western Europe, while, at the same time, Catholic Christians lived side-by-side with 'schismatic' Orthodox Christians after the East-West Schism in the borderland of eastern Europe.[15]   This per Wikipedia. And i was taught the same in world history when I was in college.   A lot has changed, since here in the US there is supposed to be freedom of religion. though it sometimes is not entirely free.
  4. Just a customer. the employees i've encountered( managers too) don't ever say anything.
  5. I have openly carried before, 99.9 percent of people either don't care or don't see it as a problem. I'm thinking most people never see it. Most of the time i conceal, this was the one time i had to partial open carry due to dress shirt and i still have not gotten a better holster for conceal( low funds/new job starting soon).
  6. First time i've ever been told to cover up my gun. he may have meant well, but I never would tell someone they need to cover their pistol.
  7. That was not wanted nor needed. I was shopping in the Tullahoma wal-mart yesterday after church with my fiancee and her son when some guy came up behid me and told me i might ought to adjust my shirt to cover my gun. I was wearing slacks, dress shirt dress shoes and my shield was tucked in the back pants using my versacarry holster( yes i have one of these). Never had a problem with anyone telling me i needed to cover up ( as this is a HCP, not a conceal state). Fiancee was a little tiffed at the guy for sticking his nose in it and then telling us Wal-mart has a policy on weapons in the back of the store. I told the guy, walmart is not posted where they need to be if they really don't like weapons in their store. They probably won't, since that might keep some people from wanting to shop there.   Yes i was really not bothered by this, thanked the guy but told him its ok.   Then he told me after the incident saturday( bomb was found in the garden area of tullahoma walmart) found to be non explosive yet had all the components aside from explosives to work, that walmart might not want me to shop with a gun on my person.   I'm sorry but i have the permit to carry, i can't rely on those cameras to protect me when i leave their store to get in my vehicle.
  8. I knew I forgot something. Projectors are not popular. I remember only selling maybe 2 in the 6 months i was working at EE. Though newer technology( glass) has made some things better, I still would not waste my $$ on a plasma. As those are on the way out. LED or OLED( when it is affordable) is the way to go.   You could go for one of those fancy curved screens or a 4k tv but the curved thing looks nice but it's way expensive. and there is limited programming for the 4k tvs.
  9. Check around, There are several good times to buy a new tv. Superbowl weekend, Black-friday, christmas, etc...    When checking for a new TV there are 3 different types of screens.    Plasma   LCD   LED   I'll give you the plusses and minuses of all three.   Plasma offers great blacks, darker colors and offers a good viewing experience, But plasmas also have a shorter life expectancy and are not good in a room with glare( you'll need to use it in a dark room or a basement). Also it has been proven they get hotter than the other two screens. As well as bad burn in if you leave the same image on screen all the time( you'll get a ghost image permanently burned into your screen).   LCD is Liquid crystal display. Offers better life expectancy than the Plasma but older technology. Better viewing experience, and use less power than plasma.       LED is Light Emitting Diode. Instead of one bulb burning out and ruining your day, the LED has several bulbs in it and is thinner, lighter and uses less power than LCD.   Just my personal experiences on these as I used to work at an electronics store.   I wouldn't getin on the hype of a 4k( not for $3,000 and up). Eventually they will come out with an 8k and the 4k tvs will come down.   Vizio is ok, just i heard it was composed of lesser LG components.   Personal favorites are Samsung, Sony and LG.  Those are the big three and those offer the better choices of options and quality.   Much better than an Emerson or Coby( coby has since dropped their warranty, since being  bought out).   Personally, I only buy my big electronics at brick and mortar stores. Hate having to ship anything big back to the online entity.
  10. Not meaning anything wrong about it. But if we ignore him, maybe the hungry troll that would love to live under a bridge will get the picture and leave it be. Minamalistic as he would like to be, he sure likes to argue his point across. Now, anyone that knows me would say I'm not one to cause conflict with anyone, But i'm sure that most people on this thread are getting tired of him. Myself included.   While i do appreciate a good debate on anyone's personal views, Sometimes a simple congrats goes a lot further than personal negativity. ab28, I'd be happy to debate you on another thread, as I'm sure some of these other guys would but i'm afraid most might just be sick of the talk about it for now.   So in other ado, i wish you good luck in your job whatever it may be. I for one, am going to get used to working in a large factory for a worldwide company with benefits and good money. The money is part of it. Just me keeping busy and becoming a valued member of the workforce is the other part of it. I have to keep busy or i'll go crazy.
  11. You do realize both the Bible and the Koran were written by men. And a lot of times they did not have paper or parchment to write on. So It was handed down by word of mouth. So in time, things get changed around a bit.   A long time ago if you didn't practice christianity( catholism in general) you were viewed as a Heretic and shunned or killed. By order of the king which was directly under the pope. There are different versions of these bibles and korans. True followers of their faith do not believe in violence toward anyone. But the media has corrupted us all into thinking all muslims are evil.   I know a muslim and he lives in my neighborhood. Actually ran for county commissoner. I had my CPA ( Citizen Police Academy) class with him for 10 weeks this year. Good guy, very knowledgable and he holds a top secret clearance at AEDC. So not all are bad.
  12. The only places we are ever justified in going into in the past were places that were responsible or had persons responsible living in their territories for killing americans. Not just one or two Americans but a lot of them.   It was found out after the second desert storm ( recent Iraq war) that Iraq had no WMD's. And if they had them at one time, they were either destroyed or had been looted to another country.   I'm all for prevention of genocide, but we have to stop the continuous cycle of hate toward America. Damned if we do Damned if we don't.   Sending weapons to our allies in Kurdistan or working with former enemies to prevent a greater threat does not appeal to most.   Remember: the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Iran, Quatar, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, etc... need to step up to the plate and help. If they don't, the next battlefield may be in their own backyards.   Not all Muslims are Terrorists. Believe it or not, there are christian terrorists just like any other religion out there has the potiental for hate.
  13. AB, Think you need to stop taking over my thread and start your own one if you feel the need to enlighten the rest of us on how great minamalism is.   If you can't say something nice, and be positive then keep your mouth shut.   Negativity will get you nowhere with me.
  14. I have worked Factory, Retail, Light assembly, Engineering/computers, etc... worked for the public for the private sector and as a private contractor. Every job out there has it's ups and downs and nothing is going to be perfect. But whatever we all do we have to at least like it somewhat or we would not be working. If I could get away with being minimalist, Believe me I would. But in reality We all need food, shelter and clothes. Those are our true needs and last i checked, those aren't free. Plus having a fiancee and a child that adds to the mix. Not complaining either, But they are my world and even though factory work isn't the most ideal place to work, they need qualified personnel who are willing to work, work hard and become not only an investment with the company but invest in themselves.   That being said, If you have a family or you will have one, wouldn't you want the best for them?  Nissan offers a future, a carreer i can acomplish.
  15. I would suggest my brother but he living in Atlanta and being a personal injury lawyer, I doubt he could do much. Do some digging around, there is sure to be some Lawyer that can help you.
  16. That's good to know. I'm looking forward to starting my new job soon. Thanks all for the congradulations.
  17. You say they were asleep in their vehicle? Take the valve cores out of each tire and toss them. 4 flat tires and they aren't going anywhere. Then get tag number, call police and file complaint. Tell police where to find vehicle and bug out.   I personally wouldnever mess with someone's vehicle. But if it means slowing the suspect down without really doing any damage to their personal property, then so be it.
  18. It has already been said that the government can access your phones no matter if you turn it off or not. The only way to keep the gov goons out is to remove your battery. So I have a Samsung s4( removable battery ) If I choose. Or if i felt i needed complete privacy, I leave the phone in the truck and go about my day.
  19. AB, I'd sit this one out if i were you. Arguments that your personal safety trump Other's property rights is lunacy. You have the right to defend yourself but you also have to respect other   people's rights as well. That includes their rights to govern how their property is used, what can be carried on their property and how they keep up their property. It is however "Their" property,   not yours. So you do not have the right to trump their rights no matter what you do. As long as you are on their property you have to follow their rules or get off their property.   Now they can post their property is not going to allow weapons on their property, In essence you don't have a right to protect them or their property if you are breaking their rules( even if they   do not know you are carrying).

    spiders

I feel worse about snakes. Spiders i can handle( aside from Brown recluses and black widows). Most of the time i'll leave them alone or try to relocate them outside. I see a snake, I don't want to encounter those.   Carry snake shot in my glock just in case while out riding. ( And i've only been out on my atv 2 times this year). I hate snakes, see more water mocassins when I go kayaking than Copperheadswhile out riding.   Since the price of ammo has increased, I keep a machete with me on my quad, just in case.
  21. I was told if you fail the drug test it may be because of a prescription you are on. Dosent mean you are out of a job. If whatever you are taking has approval by your doctor it shouldn't matter.   That saying, I don't do drugs, rarely drink alcohol and don't smoke anything. So I should be in the clear.
  22. SIx legs and 3 teeth= night shift at waffle house. Sometimes there aren't any boobs.
  23. Turns out i went to school with dcloudy777. Thanks man for the Champagne. Great guy even afterall these years.
  24. Well, maybe he can help hook a relative up ( i know not actual relative, but still).
  25. I'll be at the Decherd plant. I do have a cousin ( in law) at the smyrna plant.   But i don't know exactly what i'll be doing yet. May be a forklift driver ( the ones they already have are crazy).
