RM Ammo, CCI Blazer, or Wolf Polyformance?
gunsablazin replied to BigK's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
You should shoot my .40S&W loads in my Glock 35, they are specifically for IDPA. The thing kicks like a Ruger MKII and still easily makes power factor. Reloading is the way to go for many good reasons. The powder puff loads I make for J- Smiths make practicing with them pleasant, the ladies especially love them. -
The little Star looks great, I had a plain blue one years ago very nice reliable pistol. The Colt, well I hope it shoots better than it looks .....

RM Ammo, CCI Blazer, or Wolf Polyformance?
gunsablazin replied to BigK's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I can't give you an opinion on factory ammo for plinking because I've been loading my own practice ammo for nearly 30 years. If you are a high volume shooter the money you'll "save" by reloading is tremendous. With my home cast bullets a box of .45ACP = $3.25, it's worth giving a look. If you can afford to shoot piles of factory ammo a Dillon press will give you your money back pretty soon. I have two Dillon 550s and an RCBS single station press and can make practice ammo that is just as good as "store bought". -
It's too bad really, I love to take my kids biking etc. and Chattanooga has so many nice places. The new park at the VW plant is no guns too, Oh well, I'll just go where "our kind" are made welcome.

(My opinion) Every one with a HCP needs a 2" .38, there are times it is impractical to carry a full size pistol. The snubby is small and reliable, what more would you want in a self defense gun? I carry a 5" 1911 Springfield most of the time, but don't feel unarmed with my little .38

There is one for sale here on TGO in the classifieds now. (not mine)

Come on DaG, IDPA needs love too! I need to skip CHRPC's IDPA match at least once this year and come up and shoot USPSA, have not done so in a long time, I bet it's still fun too.
-
Sent my entry form today! I have not shot a match at ORSA in a long time, but who could pass this one up. New gun to play with and free ammo, now that is my idea of fun. The way the prize distribution is set up everybody has a more than fair chance to win something, and even if you don't you still get a fun day on the cheap. See you at the match!

Very nice! Once you do the SBR NFA paper work can you still change caliber legally? The form one looks specific as to caliber, barrel length, and overall length.

Suppressors at TN/Federal Shooting Ranges?

What is a 5320.20 ? -
Anybody used a Double Diamond 9mm lower. It looks like a good place to start.
-
For whatever reason the page is blank to me, but thanks for the help. I know what I need to do now. First, save money, do paper work, spend money. Easy!
-
Yes, but there is nothing there anymore.
-
What happened to the first page of the NFA rules section? I am interested in getting an AR 9mm SBR, and would like to check out the laws/rules covering the ownership of same.

OK, If I reduced my collection to a short list, say I had to sell off some for some reason, I would keep: 1. AR15 2. Winchester 94 .30-30 3. Ruger MKII .22 4. Springfield 1911 .45 5. S&W Mod. 60 J-Frame .38 spl I would choose these because there is not much you can do with a gun in this part of the world that can't be handled with one of these five. If the list got much longer I would add a 10-22 and 12 or 20 gauge shotgun, but it is a short list.

Well, it IS ugly enough to pass for a Glock.

I went with SHbicycles' #5, that is just wrong.

First Time Carrying this Weekend - Defective Guns?
gunsablazin replied to M1_Garand's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Not So! The .40 Glock is so deadly by merely loading it you run the risk of a K-Boom that might well disturb the earths rotation! -
This sounds good to me. I quit shooting 3-Gun because of the cost of ammo to shoot a match, lower round count IDPA would be a game I could afford to play. To some of us who want to compete/practice with our SD long guns, but don't want to spend a lot on equipment and ammo here is a game for us. Participation is not mandatory, if you don't like it don't play, but why bash it?

If you will send me a couple of pounds of pure gold I'll be happy to cast and load, in new brass of course, a box of Golden Dragon Slayer Holler Points for you, at no charge, just because I know they'll be put to good use. Oh, is it true those things must be lubed with virgin sweat to cycle at all? I can't help you there, just wanted to know....... PM if interested..........
