  1. If you live in TN and want a Garand take a day off work and drive to Anniston. It is worth your trip. I think I picked up every service grade M1 there on both of my trips. I have two CMP Garands, my brother has two, and my Dad has 4. And we bought all the ammo we could fit in the truck with us both times. The CMP guns are the best deal going in the gun business.
  2. Looks awesome.
  3. His son Josh was on the Tonight Show the other night and said that Capt. Phil had a 9 1/2 pack a day cig habit right after he got better from the blood clot. He said the Dr.'s told him that his lungs and heart looked fine after the clot and he just kept smoking. He said they did get him on those electronic cigs and that helped get him down to 2 packs a day before the stroke. Sad story all around.
  4. Glad you got her back going. I've always thought the V-tail Bonanzas were sexy airplanes.
  5. I've always loved the little pocket rifles. So I voted Butler Creek. Add a Norrell trigger pack and you will have one bad ass .22.

    Whale Wars

Have you lost your mind? Not an insult, just a question. As far as the show, I get a good laugh when I watch it. I'm not a fan of killing whales, but there has got to be a better way to stop it than what the Sea Shepherd people are doing. These idiots are lucky they haven't been shot yet. As far as I'm concerned what they are doing is an act of piracy. They put peoples lives in danger when they pull their little stunts, like ramming another ship. The main guy Watson is a real piece of work. He looks like he just woke up from a nap everytime they show him on camera. The crew looks like they wouldn't know how to find their way out of a paper bag. I couldn't find a bigger group of d-bags if I tried.
  7. I would rather have a Smith 642 or Ruger LCR over the Taurus. I can carry the 642 in my front pocket. The LCR is just a little bulky for me to front pocket carry.
  8. Looks good. Also looks like a ton of hard work. Hopefully the fish will make it.
  9. I've got a M2HB with some API ammo that we could try on it.
  10. I havent used one. But I have been reading good reviews of guys that have used them over on another gun forum. I think it would be worth a try for the price.
  11. Very nice find Steve. They say those West Germany guns are very accurate.
  12. Erik, I would go to volnation.com and ask around there for some connections. Tell them the story of your friend. Maybe use the link that Mike.357 used in your other thread to let them know you are legit and see where it goes. If someone has a close connection to the Vols, you will find them on volnation. Too bad it wasnt last year, I had two friends on the team. Good luck man, I hope you can find something for him.
  13. Yes on the left and right sides. There is a mixture of stuff on the left back wall.
  14. Oh yea? Care to share where you got the information?
  15. I only thing I would worry about with the glass lens is that they could shatter and get glass in your eyes. I wear Costa Del Mar sunglasses most of the time which have glass lens, but when I go shooting I wear my Oakleys because they have the poly lens that are shatter proof. If I was you I would get something that dosent have a glass lens for shooting or other high impact activities.
  16. Do you know what the headstamp is? How many holes are in the primer pocket?
  17. Strick, are you always at the right place at the right time? You have some awesome pics. Good job.
  18. It is Stern's collection. I remember when they had the auction. He had a FG42 that sold for around $150,000. Link to an article about the auction is below. They mention Stern is in the forth paragraph. http://antiquesandthearts.com/Antiques/AuctionWatch/2008-05-06__15-12-28.html Also a link to the Julia Auction listing. The Stern collection starts about 1/4 way down the page. http://juliaauctions.net/auctions/233/selected_highlights.asp
  19. That is NOT Charlton Heston's collection. It is/was the Bruce Stern collection. He was an attorney, served on the NRA board of directors, was president of RAMO Corp, and started Historic Arms Corp. He passed away a few years back and most the collection was auctioned off. The house is in Connecticut.

  23. Is it the one right across from Rivergate Mall? If so I have been in there a few times and never seen any security. They are expensive anyway, I go to 31W Liquors right up the road.
  24. What med. is it?
