Same thing happened during the last shortage. I do think its due to the high volumes produced due to LEO contracts so its really hard to cripple the supply vs other calibers

Well you know, squeaky wheel and all that.

Seems to have fixed the problem.

Seems every now and then the Quote function seems to mess up. I quoted a post in the Tapatalk discussion for example. I was using the mobile skin, so I don't know if that is the issue.

Yeah I'm dissapointed it's not working as well. Hopefully the issues can be sorted out before too long.

I guess some members here will never be satisfied with print media writing about guns, regardless of repeated attempts to seek credible information.

What do pocket holsters do you use?
Lumber_Jack replied to Jon in TN's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I use a Tagua Front Pocket Holster, although I carry it almost exclusively in my right back pocket. I carry a Ruger LCP. This is about the only Tagua product I find worth buying. -
Welcome, my in-laws attend FP, as does at least on other forum memeber. Glad to have you.

Looks like I picked a bad time to look for my first rifle...
AR pistols are crazy loud as well.
This is true. A carbine length isn't quite, definitely a consideration when using a 5.56 AR for home defense. You're ears might never work right again after a home invasion. -
Something to consider, although I was more speaking to the size of the gun than caliber. I need to test some bullets on some 2x4s and see how they penetrate. They're gonna do better than a 5.56. That's kinda the whole point :)
No, I know. That's the reason for testing. Too much penetration through building materials may keep it from being loaded for home defense. -
I really like my AR pistol. It's chambered in .300 BLK. But I don't find it to be bulky. Just a matter of opinion I suppose. I haven't really spent much time thinking about this, but will mention that the BLK is going to plow through some walls. I'm not real diciplined when it comes to a detailed home defense plan, but always keep a PMAG loaded with 55 grain VMaxes. My neighborhood may be a little too dense to sling a bunch of 125 gr Ballistic Tips while I'm dodging bullets.
Something to consider, although I was more speaking to the size of the gun than caliber.
Instead of an NFA item how about an AR pistol? Novelty item, IMO. I've shot them and find them to be bulky and unwieldy. A better option would be an FN 5.7 pistol if you're wanting something that shoots a light weight bullet really fast, won't over-penetrate and has high round count in a pistol form factor. Any 16" bbl AR-15 with a collapsible stock fully compressed would be tolerable to operate in the tight confines of most homes. A short barrel rifle would be even better, but the NFA aspect makes it somewhat undesirable for some people.
I really like my AR pistol. It's chambered in .300 BLK. Uh oh David you are about to get mauled.

If the load is reliable and accurate, don't change anything....it's not worth it.
I'm looking at some of my fired brass. They all have a 'black soot' on one side. It's assuming it's some gas blowing back one side of the case after firing. Is that normal?
It's pretty common, happens a lot. You can try a little more crimp and a little more powder to increase pressure and expand the casing to seal the chamber better. Some faster burning powders can make it worse. Otherwise I wouldn't worry about it. It happens a lot on my revolver cause the case doesn't seal in the cylinder. Just tumble them and it will come off.
I would guess Magpul is on Christmas/New Year shut down right now. They will come back and I’m sure fire up full output. How soon do you guys think a hi-cap mag ban could pass?I would bet legitimate big dealers will get these in, Midway, Brownells, etc.
I'd say a ban would take months to pass and then set an implementation date. If I were a betting man I'd say August-Oct before they would be actually illegal to buy. But that's still a stretch, not sure they can even get that passed.

This is true, granola eatin hippies live there P.S. I own a Land Rover :hiding: -
no worries, it was a joke anyhow. I paid $12.50 online, $14.50 in store. I know some stores charge up to $20, but I think that's still too high. I got the 10 pack backordered for $125, that's about as cheap as it gets.

I have 9 or so GI style mags, 3 Colt, 6 Kies, they all function great, but I prefer Pmags
