Has anybody had any luck deer hunting lately?
Lumber_Jack replied to Quavodus's topic in Hunting and Fishing
Killed it with a Savage 99e .300savage to boot . Folded like a wet dishrag. I thought about making a post about how continually impressed I am by the .300 savage round. Wish it was more popular so I could find more ammo -
Chattanooga CLEO for 5320.23?

Could also look at your tax bill. Do you pay city and county taxes or just county? I know Knoxville city police have been in my neighborhood but I do not pay city property taxes so anything I’ve got is going to the sheriff -
What’s the (almost) holy grail bottle you mention, don’t hold back now we want to know

This would only be the case if the uncle couldn’t legally sell the gun making it straw purchase or sale. If the uncle is legit legally allowed to buy and sell I wouldn’t see much risk in it. Hell I’ve bought guns from older guys knowing I didn’t want them just to make their lives easier. As long as each time the gun changes hands it’s legal to legal and use a bill of sale it’s pretty low risk. Especially if you don’t talk about it on the interwebz. If he’s have come in here saying he had X gun for sale and left the whole uncle story out of it most buyers wouldn’t have a clue honestly.

I’d 100% spend some reasonable amount of time trying to get RIA to fix to replace that. I feel confident it can be remedied at home but I’d make them try it first

I hadn’t killed a dear since 2010 when my wife started med school and our lives got crazy, then with little babies around and her work schedule never could make time. Got on a lease this year and went one afternoon on Tuesday before thanksgiving. Not huge but the ole buck fever wouldn’t let me pass him. Hope to go another day before seasons out -
90% of secondary bourbon is sold through facebook now. Those groups really set the market. I'll see if I can find a comparable price. 2021 Lot B is selling for about $1100 so Id say its more than that for the older year. With that said, I'll give you $500

Here's hoping they can pull on 1 of 2 in Houston. Losing Charlie Morton was very evident on Sunday. Having to play two back to back bullpen games is less than ideal. Between Ian Anderson and Max Fried we should be able to pull one of these wins. I'm staying optimistic anyway

I'm very excited for this World Series, love my Braves. I'm curious though, is MLB gonna move the games out of GA because of voting laws? Bunch of hypocritical peckerwoods

Yeah, i'd say its easier to conceal than the 19 due to reduced size. I don't really notice the weight. I have both a leather OWB and a kydex OWB that I carry it in. Now full disclosure I work outside and concealment isn't a huge concern on most days. But I think with proper clothing the OWB kydex is a great edc option with reasonable concealment.
-
Yes there is a considerable size difference between the 20 and the 29. I feel I can conceal the 29 if I want to but with the 20 that was nearly impossible. Of course the 20 is a little more pleasant to shoot but I don't think the 29 is hard to handle or too small. The 29 is one of my absolute favorite Glocks. That and the 19 are the two Glocks I will not sell. I'd encourage you to grab one you will not be disappointed

Got my third shot yesterday. Hospital my wife works for thawed viles to administer to immunocompromised patients and had some leftover that were bound for the trashcan. As someone with asthma, I don't want any virus that attacks my lungs, and being at the 9 month mark since my last Pfizer shot I went an got another. Rest assured while some of yall are out there trying to decide to take a vaccine or not I'm over here being a voluntary lab rat. If it means I don't suffocate to death over a 5 week period I'll take the chances.

was that a public field or private? I've never been lucky enough to find a field with enough birds and few enough people to make it worth my time. I do love Dove hunting though

It’s a new corporate policy, however not even the employees are following. Seems more of political theater than true concern for public health

EKMO is an external machine that exchanges oxygen and CO2 in your blood. Most often used during transplant surgeries or in cases of significant lung damage(this case) or heart weakness. it means his lungs are experience severe disease or damage that are not allowing them to effectively exchange Oxygen and CO2. He can develop hypercapnia which is basically CO2 poising and becomes fatal.
-
Yes, an available Machine is the issue. I imagine they are trying to go to Vanderbilt but need open beds and availability. This is a truly bad sign. He can only be on EKMO for so long before they have to pull you off. Some can make it but some do not. I’ll be saying a prayer for Phil. Don’t wish this on anyone

Pretty sure our whole family had it for about week and a half. I was pretty down with it. Chest and head congestion. Ended up with sinus infection. Of course clinic did the Rona test and of course it was negative. Kids and adults both had pretty significant symptoms

This isn’t a good sign for Uncle Phil. Hope things turn around
-
I think this was meant mostly in jest but in case it was not. We all understand how politicized this has been and I don't want big brother mandating anything, but I can assure you turning the TV off will have no affect on how severe your case of COVID can be. I figure Phil is the prime example.

Again, I'm fully supportive of your right to not vaccinate, but the immune response from the vaccine is much stronger than antibodies from contracting coronavirus. And the research is still weak on how long they last from exposure. I'd get a shot if its been 6months or more since you were sick.
-
I think that risk analysis factored in a bunch of false negatives on the side of the vaccine, is my point. I guess I’m just jaded and can’t see why there is so much fear of the vaccine. Odds are much higher of dying from Covid at age 61 than any complications from the vaccine.
-
Not being in Nashville I don't hear much of his show (didn't really when I did live there) but happened to pick it up back late June. And he spent the better part of an hour railing on the vaccine and how we done KNOW that its safe because its not fully FDA approved yadayadayada. I hope folks will realize before its too late that this is a deadly disease and the best way to live is get a vaccine, set all the political bull #### aside. I'm all for you right to choose NOT to get it, but I think too many people are being swayed by bad logic and political rhetoric that's not founded in rational thinking
