  1. I know a guy who just moved from Knoxville to Texas to lead trial rides at the Bronco Off-Roadeo course there near Austin. He's a very discerning off road enthusiast and he says they are really great and capable off road vehicles. Its a true contender for the Jeep in the "off the lot off road capable options". If the fords have any level of better reliability than Jeep they'll see good sales
  2. in my opinion the best bbq in the US doesn't come from any of the cities on that list. It comes from the places you find when you think you're lost in the middle of nowhere. Places like BE Scotts in Lexington TN or Trollinger's outside of Paris. We were in Florence AL one time and the group decided to get BBQ and we drove past 4 commercial looking spots with bright signs to get to a small little building with a tiny sign over the door and inside looked like it needed a good mopping. We clearly made the right choice. It was really great btw if anyone is ever in Florence; Dick Howell's BBQ
  3. This makes me sad. I will be praying for y’all and hugging my fur babies close tonight
  4. I didn't read this whole thread because I'm lazy, so forgive is this is repetitive. I sold my G20 only to purchase a G29. I love it. I love 10mm. If I were owning simply for shooting purposes I'd have kept the 20 but it was a bit too big to carry for my needs. I will buy another G20 in the future just because one cannot have too many 10mm guns
  5. Its not for lack of desire, I'd say most appreciate the quality and value, they just lack the discretionary funds to actually purchase. But this goes for Anything over $1000. We see 1911s, ARs, etc sit for months priced at $1200
  6. Not sure on trimming alone. It’d probably cost $2k to cut it down if not more. I will say with the size of the tree I don’t imagine any amount of pruning is going to save your gutters.
  7. Big Tree is Willow Oak Below is my best educated guess from the picture. Trees always look a little different in person. If you really want to know I can swing by sometime and look
  8. Found the go fund me page that explains the man died from fatal injuries trying to navigate the canyon to get to the road. The female ha da severe ankle injury require surgery. I simply think they made a bad navigation error and got in very extreme terrain and had a mishap. According to the timeline on the page if they’d stayed with the car they would have been found an entire day earlier. Assuming it had gas they could have even run the ac periodically to stave off heat trauma https://www.gofundme.com/f/emily-henkel-alex-lofgren-disaster-relief
  9. So many things when wrong. After looking at the map they hiked in a direction that appeared shorter to paved road but extremely rough terrain. I know making the right decision is never easy in the moment, but staying with the vehicle or hiking down the road they drive in would have been better options. 22miles even in extreme heat could be done. Wait for night fall and hike hard all night and you could be there before sunrise. They should have had more food and water as well as a mobile emergency device like Erik posted above. It’s easy to armchair quarterback this now but when you go to a place called “Death Valley” you HAVE to prepare to survive if the situation arises.
  10. I can’t figure why they hiked to a location that was unreachable but helicopter? Like was said above, if you have 3 days of water, why not hike down the road? Or did they?
  11. Yeah I hate people. It’s just like when “guns in bars” was passed. Drunk people have been having Wild West duels in the parking lots ever since, right?
  12. The gang activity in that high school is shocking. The feuding and shootings are not uncommon. I’d wager this young man was on the hunt for a rival. Sad waste of young life. Glad the office wasn’t more critically injured
  13. Valid point. Gov Lee used cell phone data to justify to COVID-19 lockdown saying Tennesseans weren't staying home voluntarily. If that doesn't scare the #### out of you, nothing will. People scared of a vaccine implant and then carry a personal government intrusion device voluntarily everywhere we go.
  14. This is often a common name for Saucer Magnolia due to the flower shape and size is very tulip like
  15. Can look more tree like or more shrub like
  16. I’ve seen saucer magnolias twice as tall as the one in the pic. Still consider a “small tree” in tree standards. It can be shrubby or have multiple stems but if managed can have single trunk
  17. It’s hard to tell scale of the flowers in the pics but it sure looks like a Saucer Magnolia. It’s a Japanese flowering tree. Biggest giveaway is how early they bloom. Always the first ornamentals to flower
  18. I had a TRP many years ago. Loved that gun, wish I still had it. Only sold it because I was poor and wanted a suppressor
  19. explain what I'm looking at, besides a suppressed AR of some caliber.
  20. what happened? Just an jump in income bracket? Its happened to me before. We moved to Knoxville got new jobs and pay rates, ended up owing several thousand come tax time. Bottom line standard withholdings will be woefully short as your income increases. anyway back to speculation on tire prices
  21. That woman needs education on "shoot, don't shoot" decision making. I hate a thief, but don't think they should be shot
  22. This FJ is almost perfect....just enough lift, great patina, not too shiny to drive in the woods. You're crazy if you sell it, but if you do, call me
