  1. I find the trijicons to be very clear as they use fiber optic lighting vs the red dots. I've had an eotech and sold it and although I love the glass in my leupold the illuminated reticle still isn't as clear as it should be. Try an acog or accupoint and see what you think.
  2. I swear by Sears platinum series batteries. They are agm's made by odyssey batteries. My gto has parasitic draw issues and it starts every time no matter what.

    AR lengths?

What kind of drop are you looking at at 200 with typical hunting loads? With the 6.8 I'm zeroed at 50 and 200, so at 100 I'm just a bit high. American 30 seems like a good idea if bhw can get other manufacturers involved and get factory ammo available. I've heard it's just a couple hundred fps slower than 308.

    AR lengths?

I've never heard of any one choosing 300bo for long distance shooting. But perhaps things have evolved since I looked at the cartridge. It seems a big heavy bullet with limited case capacity aren't conducive to high velocities. I ended up going with 6.8 for lethality on medium game out to 300 yards or so.
  5. I will say that at a ups store I was refused when trying to ship a barrel. Apparently the ups stores are privately owned and set their own policies seperate from ups. In other words they just sell shipping supplies and contract shipping through ups. Ended up having to go to the ups hub in cool springs.
  6. Larue lt104 with a leupold vxr patrol 3-9. So far, so good. I'd check out their combo scope and mount deals they seem to be priced well.
  7. Full circle indeed. I built my 68 because someone here pointed me to 68 forums.I noticed the donated king armory comp in the video and thought of your participation on this forum. Good stuff all around. Ps if you need a tester for a linear comp or brake that's threaded 5/8 x 24. I'd gladly give it a go. I'm currently running a brt covert comp and am happy with the noise level for hunting. But as always, innovation is always welcome. I guess I should clarify. If you come out or test a new product that you think would be quieter or mitigate recoil better without an increase in noise, I'd be happy to purchase and test it. Not looking for handouts.
  8. http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2014/12/10/35-muzzle-devices-tested-ttag/ Saw this on 68forums. I'm curious to see sound level testing as well. Seems like common sense for the most part, as the ones that look the loudest and direct the blast to the side and rearward reduced recoil the most.
  9. http://troydefense.com/portfolio/troy-bravo-rifles/ Not a black Friday deal per se, but 599 for a troy ar seems like a really good deal.

    Hog Gun

I realized as soon as we got here how different the landscape was. Scrub brush and cactus everywhere. Plenty of signs of hogs but haven't bagged one yet.
  11. They will price match any advertised price including Amazon etc.

    Hog Gun

That's the issue I had. I wanted more thump than 223 but in a fairly lightweight semiautomatic. I think I've got a good combo of weight and firepower.

    Hog Gun

That's a big hog. 458 was very tempting. I suppose now that I've built this gun it would be easy enough to throw together another upper in a different caliber. So far though I'm pretty impressed with 6.8. I'm taking it to the range to finish sighting it in today.

    Hog Gun

Back from the dead. And just in time. I leave out to The Republic of Texas on Wednesday and just wrapped up the build. Don't know why I picked this way to go but I think I'm glad I did.
  15. Think those are qd sockets you're seeing.
  16. Did some googling and found a photo of the upper with a giant tube that slides down the length of the inside of the rail. Interesting. Maybe someone can link the photo but I'm on my phone and cannot.
  17. Soo how do you tighten the barrel nut?
  18. Another two broken poly lowers here. I even tried one of the reinforced lowers made in TN and it was out of spec. Just stick with a forged aluminum lower and you'll be fine.
  19. Was it still functioning well? Was it being lubed but not cleaned?
  20. Any opinions? Plans for use include short quick shots and a max range of around 400yards. Low light is a likelihood. Any better options? I'm trying to keep cost under a grand.

    Papa Johns

My vote ( if I get one) goes to Joeys house of pizza.
  22. Makes you wonder though if they can sell it for a grand, how much markup is there?
