Given the results of recent elections, I think that's much closer to reality than we'd like to admit. The Reagan era days of the political landscape being dominated by the white upper middle class (aka, the stereotypical republican) are over. Yep. They're just riding the wave to retirement. It's a pretty good gig and they're gonna hang on as long as they can.

You could certainly do that. It won't turn to dust instantly or anything. Try it with just water first if you're worried about it. Deionized water if you're really paranoid.
-
Looks fine to me, does it work? :) It says 160W total, but doesn't give a split between heat and agitation...
-
It probably wouldn't hurt hard chrome, but its the other parts in there that aren't so hard you have to worry about. It depends on the power of the ultrasonic agitator and what the gun is made of and any coatings. The typical table-top cleaners you can find at harbor freight are fairly low power and won't do much harm unless you leave stuff in it for hours and/or add some sort of chemical. More powerful industrial ultrasonic cleaners can erode softer metals (aluminum) away quite rapidly if you're not careful.

I'd swear I read that in TCA once upon a time... but of course I can't find it now. Something to the effect that the owner of a residence only has to say no.

A private residence need not be posted. If you don't have express permission, you can't carry there. All he has to do is say so.

Recommended practice information for wife's HCP exam.
peejman replied to Tobashadow's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I believe the reason option was given for the smaller targets and distances correspondingly reduced was simply to allow more facilities to be used. Has nothing to do with trying to make the test harder, only keep it fair when a short range must be used. My wife took it in January and the shooting portion was exactly as OS described. -
What they said. Look into a chip, cold air, cam, exhaust.... Or even a whole different vehicle (diesel?). Blowers are fun but pricey.

This makes me wonder why we even have a Supreme Court!
peejman replied to E4 No More's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I think it's simply a "we've addressed this enough lately, go read the prior decisions and figure it out" answer. -
Definitely a good show. Glad I woke up in time to see Scott and Angel play the 18th and the playoff. I didn't really know who to pull for. Wish Snedeker had faired better, hopefully he'll learn from it. I was especially happy to see the usual suspects (Tiger, Phil, McIlroy, et. al.) be utterly uncompetitive.

Plain water works. A non-foaming detergent/solvent (Simple Green, etc.) can be added as well.

I was surprised by how wimpy it is, but that's probably not a bad thing. Cocking it takes a pretty heavy hand, he can't do it by himself (yet). My hope was that it would penetrate the front side of the jug but not the back so I'd be able to recover the bb's. Doesn't have anything to do with me being a cheap bast_rd.... it teaches the boy to not be wasteful... yeah, that's it. I've also got to cut the stock down a couple inches so it'll fit him a little better. With it in his shoulder, he can't really reach the fore grip. The stock has a longer length of pull than a typical cricket .22, which seems odd. I dispatched many a squirrel with my Crossman pump bb gun when I was a kid. It was one shot, one kill accurate inside about 50 ft.

Like most anything else, the skills do erode quickly without use. They don't just immediately start flying 12" apart. They have a very prescribed training method for how they work their way in to such close formations. I've seen a few videos on how they get a new team member up to standards, its quite a lengthy process.
-
Have to practice as a group? Nope. Have to get some flying hours in, yes. But likely not even in the team planes. http://www.navalaviationmuseum.org/explore/blue-angels-practices

Like several others, I can't have it at work so I can't carry all the time. If I'm out with my family, I carry. If I'm out running errands alone, maybe, maybe not.

Fine, FINE. You talked me into it. I'm in for 1, s/n 1313 if possible.

State suspends gun carry permit for James Yeager
peejman replied to ironsniper1's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I'd been avoiding this thread simply because ... well, it's Yeager. Again. I liken him to Kim Jong Un... he just needs to crawl back in his hole and hush. But this post made the 90 seconds I spent reading the new posts worthwhile. I needed a laugh this morning.... -
We were planning a family vacation to the area expressly because of the museum and around the Blue Angles practice schedule. Maybe next year. :-\
-
Which means it won't get this far east until late tonite. Which means my very storm anxious wife will likely keep me awake until the wee hours. :-\ Hopefully it'll wear itself out before it gets there.

Gee, and all this time I thought GTMO was supposed to be closed.... (sarcasm).

The whole problem is still the batteries. People call electric cars "green" because they don't emit CO2. Ever looked into the manufacturing processes for the Li-ion batteries? They use some pretty nasty stuff. They're very difficult to recycle. They're very expensive. And as Boeing recently learned, they're not especially stable. The technology still has a long way to go before it's viable for the masses, IMO.

Most of the time I pocket carry a P3AT because its easy, convenient, and functionally invisible. Occasionally I carry my PT145 IWB in a crossbreed supertuck. I should carry it more often and have been considering a leather OWB holster for it. On rare occasions I carry my wife's S&W 9mm in a Galco OWB leather holster. Also on rare occasions, I'll carry my PT145 in my 5.11 "murse". Mostly I depends on what else I have to carry.

Depends on your budget and your wants/needs. At the lower end.... PTR-91, Saiga, kit FAL. Mid range... M1A, AR10, DSA FAL. Higher end.... SCAR, HK91
