Every new story I've read so far says they kicked the door in around 6am to serve a warrant for selling guns w/out proper paperwork. That sounds exactly like what the ATF would do. Rather than arrest him when he leaves the home, pull him over on the way to work, or arrest him at work, they chose the most violent, risky, and least intelligent means to their end.

Things the next generation simply won't understand

You'd think that since it looks like maple syrup it'd taste good, but it's not as good as the one with pig on the label. -
Especially if the peeling is a long single strand.

Older sisters at best for me too if that's the 70s. The photo looks more like it's from the 60s to me.

What have you made a TRADE with That wasn't GUN related?
BigK replied to JeffsSig's topic in General Chat
That's a strange offer, but I'd be tempted, LOL. I've always wanted one of those goats. -
I thought the question sounded a little accusatory, yet all but one response was civil and informative. I guess I don't see enough "not shot or LNIB" classifieds to say "nearly everyone's weapons". If it actually is a significant percentage, I'd chalk it up to the fact that most don't sell the guns they like unless money's tight. I suspect most of us only sell the guns we bought, but realized we don't like as much as we expected or don't use much, which would explain the round count.

I'm not even gonna respond now, you win LOL -
I love hearing stories like this and I try to brag on companies with good customer service too. Next time I need a part Troy makes, and price/quality are similar, they get first crack at my $$. Thanks for sharing this.

Love it! I haven't had the fortune to try a revolver with moon clips, but I love the idea.

When I first joined this site, I only owned a handful of guns, only what I needed and they'd all been fired a lot. I was a impressed to learn how many people on here had collections of firearms, not just necessities. I thought they must be millionaires, LOL. As I've come to realize time/age is a more of a factor to the size of the collection than wealth. I'm not wealthy by any stretch, but over the past 20+ years my collection has grown. I now see how easy it is to have unfired LNIB guns.

It's Legal for Illegals to Own Guns Now
BigK replied to gun sane's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I despise the mere existence of the ATF and think almost everything they do is illegitimate, however I'll let my hypocrisy show a little on these points: It's none of the AFT's business if I buy a gun for someone as a gift, but I do want it to be illegal to make straw purchases. I don't think every felony should keep someone from buying a gun, but I do want it to be illegal for violent felons to buy guns. I don't think smoking pot should keep you from buying a gun when people who drink alcohol are free to do so. I believe in "shall not be infringed", but I do want it to be illegal for crazy people, stalkers, and people with restraining orders against them to buy guns. I don't think illegals are entitled to any inalienable rights under our Constitution. -

I saw conflicting info about who the gun actually belonged to. The fact that it was kept in the parents' room seems to mean it was not "really" the kid's gun, yet they said it was a Christmas gift. If he took it without permission from his parents room, does that mean he stole it?

I'm all for personal responsibility, consequences, prosecuting negligence, and gun safety. The texts beforehand about the ammo and stuff sounds like the same eye-rolling comment I'd make about liberal teachers overreacting if I thought my son was a normal, well-adjusted kid. I'm not sure I understand the timeline, but it sounds like both the school and the parents found out the same day that the kid needed help and it wasn't until the parents got home that they discovered the gun was missing. I just can't believe the kid wasn't sent home and nobody checked the backpack.

I was perfectly happy with my LCP until the P365 came out. Now I only carry the LCP when I have on elastic waist band shorts.

Does it count if I saved a bunch of scrap wood for several years in case I ever wanna have a fire?

I watched a show about outlaw bikers and it said the ones w/ felony records couldn't carry any kind of weapon, so they carried wrenches, hammers, long screwdrivers, etc. instead. It kept them from catching a charge for carrying a weapon. I also like the idea I heard somewhere of carrying a bicycle chain with a padlock. I bet that lock would put a hitch in a bad guy's giddy-up.

I couldn't possibly agree more! The law makes no sense whatsoever. I think we should be allowed to carry a morning star in one hand and a spiked club in the other...not kidding, nobody wants to get hit with a morning star.
-
I also like the idea of saps and collapsible batons, but even if legal, I wonder at what point the choice of using less-than-lethal force becomes an even bigger lawsuit magnet than a firearm.

My wife is an RN and she's had to stop at traffic accidents to see if she could render aid. It was rather inconvenient, but I see the intent and value lives over my personal schedule. On the other hand, I am not trained and often wonder if I could be sued for rendering aid incorrectly. The classic example is someone clutching their chest when choking and being given aid meant for a heart attack instead of choking.
