  1. Everybody at my house got sick a couple of weeks ago. It took about a week to get over the crud, so it was probably something viral like flu or coronavirus. I've learned to keep mucinex, benadryl, sudafed, advil, and robitussin on hand all the time to fight the symptoms, since docs can't do much when it's viral.
  2. This is news to me, been doing it for decades.
  3. I prefer Critical Defense, but I have Speer Lawman Gold Dot in most of my mags due to a good deal I found.
  4. Not that it will stop these idiots from passing a law they know is unconstitutional, but the SCOTUS has already ruled that an infringement on ammo is the same as an infringement on firearms. Sadly, the twits that pass these laws have unlimited tax payer dollars to defend these laws in court.
  5. I'm not familiar with the CMP process. What does a 1911 go for through them?
  6. I'm with @mikegideon, I don't recall ever seeing one of those gun buster signs you speak.
  7. When my kids asked me to take them somewhere, I blared embarrassing and they eventually quit asking. If had a weinermobile it would have happened much quicker.
  8. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. I couldn't agree with you more. The 11th hour is the worst time to hatch a plan.
  9. I can't imagine going back to the restaurant world at 53 yrs old. I see people quit their job in their 50s to chase a dream of owning a restaurant. They are some tough people. I couldn't do it.
  10. Interesting, after an early career in the restaurant management industry I went back to school for IT and have never been happier. Strange how things turn out. I'm way better at managing food, people, and time than I am at IT, but I like what I like, like you said.
  11. Doesn't it make you want to let your soul glow?
  12. You just made my day. This is fantastic news! "Resigning for health reasons" is so cliche, but I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth. I hope he doesn't let the screen door hit him where the good Lord split him. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
  13. I have a soft spot for pump action 22s. That is gorgeous!!
  14. I found an AR lower I knew I had, but had forgotten about. Turns out I also had enough spare parts to build the lower w/out buying one single part. It was kind of satisfying. It DOES pay to save up spare parts.
  15. That's what I remember him most for as well
  16. She's a pretty girl. What's her name?
  17. or if you break off a screw head LOL
  18. If you want even smaller/lighter, there's the Chiappa Little Badger. I have the .22 WMR version, but it comes in .22LR too. It's more accurate than me and the trigger is surprisingly good. More importantly, it's just simple and a ton of fun to shoot.
  19. On my street it's common to see bricks scattered over a 30 foot area where some doofus hit a mailbox. I kid you not, we see one about every 3 or 4 weeks. In our case it's distracted drivers in broad daylight. It scares me that it could just as easily be a someone on the sidewalk being hit. I knew idiots in HS that liked to go out drinking and "bash mailboxes". I was glad to know one broke his arm in the act.
  20. I hope they can recover NRA money from his assets and put him and his cronies in jail for fraud. The NRA will be better off w/out them.
  21. I can tell you ain't been here long. Where the grits and eggs? LOL
  22. PM sent
  23. We had a house fire a few years back and all my guns/ammo had to come out of there before the crew would start repairs. That's the only time I ever cursed myself for having so much ammo.
  24. The gun I carried for EDC the longest was a CZ P-01. So, I'm partial to the CZ line-up myself. I actually wanted the PCR with decocker more, but I went with the one I could find in stock at that time. I've been making compromises toward smaller and lighter the past few years. The CZ was the last gun I carried that didn't feel like settling for less.
  25. I've never seen them open on the last 2 weekends of December. I'd definitely call before I headed that way.
