  1. I can't wait either. I just hope they're gobbling better than the last 2 years. I've got a new box call I'm wanting to try out. It's walnut and butternut.
  2. Tim, what load did you use? I'd imagine a lot of loads wouldn't have a lot of penetration.
  3. I would think that 250 gr. would work good in a .45 carbine. Some guys shoot heavier bullets in .45 handguns.
  4. I agree with some of the others. Its way safer just to pull the load instead of firing it. There used to be a discharger that used a C02 cartridge. They worked pretty good.
  5. That was some  pretty good videos. Thanks for posting them. I think a lot of people on here will like'em.
  6. It sure does look funny on a Mosin or anything really.
  7. I'd like to have that on a T-shirt if it could all be put on one.
  8. I've never owned one but, I wouldn't mind having a .45. From what I hear the ones being made now are pretty decent. I saw a video where 2 guys tested 2 different guns and they took everything that they could throw at'em. They have a lifetime warranty too.
  9. He sure left some crap in there didn't he. I just don't like to see some rifles sportered like that. I saw a Johnson 1941 on Gunbroker once, and somebody had  went way further than they should've.
  10. Yeah but, it only works on 91-30 rifles. Model 44, and Model 38 carbines don't have this as far as I know.
  11. If it was not a Garand, I think I'd like it but, it is............... Somewhere right now there's a secret organization on a secret mission, trying to rescue that poor rifle.
  12. I don't know when all this expensive ammo problem will be over but, I don't shoot a lot of .22 ammo anyway. I've not bought a box of .22 lr in at least 5 years, and I'm not going to. This will only end if and when people relax and chill out some. I don't have a problem with people buying ammo but, get what you need and let somebody else get the rest. My 2 pennies.
  13. Sorry to hear that. I hope you can find it.
  14. Yeah, I guess if you had a trigger finger that could bend rebar you'd be good. That's funny by the way
  15. Yeah, I've heard the same thing. A friend gave me one of the cheap bases that goes on the sight base. I know why he gave it to me now. 2 or 3 shots and rattle rattle. A good quality base would be great though.
  16. I was shooting my 91-30 Tula Hex  today(hadn't shot it in a while) and decided that something had to be done about the trigger. I've seen little springs with legs that some say work good. And another fix that uses a small screw, washer, and nut. What have some of you used?
  17. These days that's a super deal. Get it! I remember when you could get Chinese Norinco's for a hundred bucks. Not anymore. If it is a original Chinese, I would rather have it than a Norinco.
  18. Yeah, that's a pretty good deal. The ammo is running itself, anywhere from about $90-$100+.
  19. The first time I applied about 4 years ago, it took about 3 months. When I renewed it was a lot quicker.
  20. Went yesterday morning and didn't stay as long as I usually do. I stayed put till about 9:30 and didn't nothing but, tree rats. Didn't go this morning because the wind is gusting some.
  21. Good luck to any of you that are going this weekend. I'm gonna try it in the morning if the wind is calm. I 've been seeing bucks chasing does. I saw a shooter Sat. but, couldn't get a good shot. Then Wed. 2 bucks that looked to be 2 1/2 yr. olds.
  22. That sounds pretty neat. I've seen kits for a Lee Enfield and Mausers. A .45 ACP carbine has always interested me.
  23. They were moving good this morning. I saw either 3 or 4 does. They was moving around back in the woods. 3 bucks. A 6 point, small 8 point 14", and a shooter 8 point. Was gonna shoot the shooter buck and my rifle wouldn't fire. It was like the safety was still on. I checked to make sure that I did turn it off, and I did. I stopped him with a grunt twice and couldn't pull the trigger either time. I looked at it pretty good when I came in and couldn't find anything wrong. Could it possibly be effected by the cold?
  24. 2400 is a great powder too. I've shot Rem. 158 gr. jhp  with anywhere from 13.0 gr.-15.5 gr. I worked up to these though. The 15.5 gr. load is a little rough on recoil with a light gun. There's several powders in the medium range that will work good. Let us know what you come up with.
  25. I've been wanting a .357 rifle for some time. I'd like to have a barrel from NEF to go on my SB1 receiver I already have.
