    Ar-15 Questions

No. A multi cal will fit shorter rounds. 5.56, 5.45, 7.62x39, 6.5, 6.8, .450. The .308 is a longer round and requires a larger magwell.
  2. I keep hearing commercials on the radio for it, I would say it is still open.
  3. I have to choose Metallica as my personal favorite. I however must respect Led Zeppelin's impact on rock.
  4. I am left handed, but right eye dominant. Been this way since I was a child. As such, like many left-handers in the right-hander world, I just adapted and learned to do it right handed. It is natural now. Some folks tilt their head, others learn to shoot with the other hand. At your age, no offense, it might be better to practice tilting your head, maybe find a blinder for your right eye. Relearning how to shoot with your left hand might be too difficult to become natural with.
  5. Most banks have a notary too, if you are a client, it is free.
  6. I think the Tapco unit fits a PSL, but I won't swear to it.
  7. The receiver for an AR is considered the firearm. Even stripped. You have to have it transferred through an FFL and do your background After you get your stripped lower, you need a parts kit, which rarely includes your buffer assembly or stock. Once you have all of that, you still only have a complete lower, still requiring a complete upper assembly.
  8. I got 13, but completely missed the bear. On the replay, I was astounded at how obvious the bear was. He stood right in the middle, in the open.
  9. Agreed. That is the version I have always heard.
  10. I am not a drinking man. I learned a long time ago that I don't know when to stop and I get stupid. As such, I choose not to drink. It is much less expensive this way. I don't begrudge anyone else their vices, and I am a social drinker. I have found now that I am older and a 'responsible family man,' that a nice long drive is great for resetting the circuits. That is why I can't wait to move my clan out of the city and back to the sticks. I figure an hour to and from work will be just enough to leave the stress of the job behind.
  11. I did notice when the credits rolled that King's character's name was Bachman. I thought that was nifty. This season seems to be just banging along, the episode is over and it feels like there is so much left to say. It flows from one to the other with ease. I can't wait to see where the season goes.
  12. Just sitting at home relaxing after work. Listening to some Hank Jr. All is good in my world. Sorry yours has been rough this week.
  13. I not so secretly lust after the exact piece you bought. I have never owned a Bisley style gun, but I love the look.
  14. I dig it. I have had to listen to it several times. I honestly think this song will go in my personal favorites file. Right along with Gary Allen's 'I get off on the Pain.'
  15. No, a grandchild couldn't have taken it. My daughter knows better than to touch a gun, without me present and the others are either out of state or infants. The report has been filed. I told them of my suspicions, they told me they would 'look into it.' Pretty much told me I was SOL without a serial number, but I told them, it wasn't about getting the gun back, it was more about keeping it out of the wrong hands.
  16. I shoot at CCA, it costs me $10 and targets. I never buy my ammo there. Many times I bring my own targets, but on occasion, I can't resist a zombie. The time is unlimited. I have spent from an hour, to three there. Still $10. I went there one night with a buddy of mine who had some free range time after buying a gun from them, and it cost me $5, as I was the 'extra person.'
  17. I just got about five or six pop-ups, all blank, Chrome warned me twice, I checked the box the first time, the second time it did it again, I checked it again. I had a couple of dialog boxes pop up, a Windows Error Report search box, Windows Media Player, and then something tried to download. This doesn't look good, but I do believe that there is more to this than just Google labeling the site as unsafe. I am starting to think the site might be unsafe at the time being.
  18. Chrome is back to doing it as of some point last night. Both at home and work.
  19. Totally awesome cameo. And unrelated, I do believe that Maggie Siff is pregnant. They did very few shots showing her stomach mostly focusing on head/breast shots.
  20. It was a theft. She lives in a rural area, the type of place where you don't have to lock your doors. Her neighbors are a few miles away, but they are not the savory type. We have had issues with them in the past, but petty things. Stuff around the property missing, food coming up missing out of the deep freeze, gas being siphoned. She recently had an alarm system installed, but much like the gun lock, they are no good if you don't use them. In short, they are criminals, and they need to feed habits. If we are lucky they pawned it. If we aren't, they intend to use it to feed their habits.
  21. I am not concerned about seeing it again. It was a beater. When I gave it to my mother I knew I would never see it again, I just never imagined something like this would happen to it. I am concerned about the police being able to find it before someone does something stupid with it.
  22. I loaned my mother a beater pistol about a year ago. She is getting elderly and frail, and her traditional HD firearm was an old SxS 12ga Coachgun. I gave her a little .380 and taught her how to use it. She was good with a slingshot grip and a fair shot with it. She put it in a cabinet and left it there. She would check it every week or so, and that was it. She checked today and it was gone. We have a good idea of who took it, and the thought puts a knot in my gut. The idea of it 'just turning back up' is fair, but the thought of where it was and what was done with it while it was gone is not good. I am concerned as to where to proceed from here. I bought the gun in a FTF transaction several years ago, and never kept track of the serial number. It was just a beater gun that I kept in an ammo box. She is worried that the gun will be used to commit a crime, and that it will be traced back to me. I am not worried about that, but I am very concerned that the gun will be used to commit a crime. I am upset that the gun fell into bad hands, but at the time, it was unforeseen that this could happen. I gave her a trigger lock with it, but apparently she never used it. I will be notifying her local PD in the morning to file a report, but without the serial number, what information can I give them? Obviously make and model, but would our suspicions of who took it be worthwhile?
  23. Congratulations! My daughter completely changed my life when she was born, and I couldn't be happier for it, and the man I am today.
