  1. Good videos, but that is all they are. It took at least twenty takes to get it done, and as far as his WRC stint, he is bottom ranked. With that said, I love to watch what he does, but I don't think he is the Third Coming of The Stig. He is too rough on the cars and not as smooth as a top professional rally driver. If he wanted to do an awesome video, it would be a one shot fluid take from a chase car, that would shut all the naysayers, such as myself, up.
  2. Did dude just comment in the video that it was light enough to use with one hand while holding hostages?
  3. How does it feel? I normally don't like the look of frame reductions or stippling myself, but that doesn't look too bad. They just feel too rough to me.
  4. Even emoticons don't properly convey tone, inflection and emotion in a post. As such, I have learned as well to take things at face value. Plus if you get mad at every little thing, you don't really get a chance to understand what someone meant. If you immediately go on the offensive or defensive it serves no point, and the conversation, and thus the chance at learning are over. As for learning to work on cars, when I was a youth, I was very hard on them, and I knew nothing about them. I was still in highschool I believe when I went through a handful of cars literally at the pace of once a month. It got expensive very fast on a budget that just wasn't getting bigger. Bagging groceries and swinging a hammer didn't exactly afford me all the things I wanted. So, I began the long and painful journey of fixing them instead of scrapping them. There were times when that wasn't cheaper, but now, it paid off. I honestly hope you find someone local, on the forum, and not a shop to help you. A tune up will take an afternoon of your time, and a little bit of change. If I am not mistaken your owner's manual will have a list of the manufacturer's suggested maintenance at XXXXX miles. For 90k it might be a bit more involved that just plugs, wires, cap rotor, and some filters. You might need to flush your tranny and radiator, grease some fittings. One of the neater things as cars get newer is the amount of parts that don't need replacing for normal wear and tear. Again, a local honest 'friend' will be a much better option than paying a shop to do it, fellowship is better too.
  5. That put a smile on my face. I completely understand about not having enough time. Everyone must prioritize, and for many, an automobile comes at the bottom. With today's technology it is completely understandable. I didn't mean to come off condescending, I am sorry that wasn't clear. The point I was trying to make, and maybe I was off on it a bit, first, I can't understand why cars are viewed like Rube Goldberg contraptions. A tune up or an oil change are about as simple as you can get. It wasn't so much as 'not knowing how' but more of the mentality; and forgive my assumption; of cars being black magic. Much like IT is (my field in a round about way.) The other is how much money folks throw away at garages; not all are crooks, but frankly IMO many charge way too much; for something that costs many times less than a third of what they paid. I appreciate that there are folks that have no desire to learn how to work on a car. There are hobbies out there that I just have zero interest in as well. I applaud you taking care of your car, it is a tool, and any tool needs to be maintained, I just, I don't know, I find peace and pleasure in working on a car. I know how it works, and it is doesn't work right, it is nice to be able to make it work right. And to the 'not to knock' equating to 'bless his heart,' well, I never saw it that way, but I do now.
  6. Any word on a range day, or some way someone could get there hands on one to check them out? I am digging the futuristic (well modern now) style of it, and the whole newness thing is making me eager to see one.
  7. Not to knock the OP, but sometimes it amazes me the amount of folks that are clueless about cars. I do all of my maintenance on all my cars. However it is my hobby. I honestly think that in a lot of instances, oil changes and simple tune-ups, that if folks knew what was involved, they would honestly do all the work themselves, especially considering the difference in cost. Props to the folks on the board that understand and are willing to help. I am confident that any of you would be much cheaper than a shop, and perform the same quality of work. Again not to knock it, my wife is a drive it and forget it kind too, but she has me to take care of the cars. I just never really understood the whole idea of paying someone else to work on my car. The only way I know I can trust the work is to do it myself. Again, it is my hobby. Sorry to derail the thread.
  8. It already did. Tig confessed to Opie that he killed Donna. "Why weren't you driving the truck, it was supposed to be you in the truck..." Opie beat Tig for it, but oddly enough he seemed to let it go. The blame lay on Stahl as far as Opie was concerned. Which means Tig's character is exactly as he seems, a tool of the Club, doing what is best for that exact moment. In Op's mind, Stahl made him out as a rat, the Club was justified in 'taking him out.' That they missed and got Donna instead he seems to lay on Stahl as well. I think this is part of the reason I have issues with Opie's character.

    Zombie 101

Too bad Baltimore sucks. I would like to take the course though. Even if it were focusing more on the role of Zombies in Pop Culture, it would still be fun.
  10. I don't drink, so no adult beverages for me. I tend to like going out to shoot, or playing with my daughter. She has another year before the wife allows her to go out shooting with me, so that is something to look forward to. There is something very calming about having kids. The complete faith and naiveté that everything will be alright and Daddy can do anything. With that much trust, it is hard to act as if something is wrong. And in turn I find that it makes me stronger, because I have to find a way to make it work. Whether it is going to work every day, no matter how sick, or helping her get to the next level on her video game. I have found that using this line of logic, stress is much lower. I know exactly what I must do, and how it must be done. The right thing, the right way.

    My new EBT

I think it is supposed to be red but the picture shows the color wrong.
  12. Yeah, that was Unser paying for protection for the shipment, which then got 'hijacked' and sold. I am more referring to the Club paying Unser for his loyalty. Like they do with the Sheriff the next town over. I have heard him referred to as being on the 'payroll,' but not actually seen him receive any kickbacks for his loyalty.
  13. Hale was the Chief, not the Sheriff. I am referring to the black dude that got shot up by the tranny last season.
  14. I would like to know more of Unser's history with SAMCRO. He seems very close to Gemma, and Clay puts an awful lot of trust in him. They keep saying he is 'on the payroll,' but unlike the Sheriff (whose name escapes me right now) I have never seen money exchange hands with Unser and anyone on the Club.
  15. True, I like Bobby Elvis too. There are a lot of good actors on the show, that is something that astounds me, they went with relatively few unknowns comparatively.
  16. Tig would be my favorite character. Chibs and Hale would have been next. Tig is very screwed up, but he has his moments, and he is very loyal. Of all of them I don't think he ever thinks of anything other than what is best for the club, at that exact moment. Chibs needs his storyline fleshed out a bit, but after last season they showed the possible depths of what lurks there. Hale had a very clearly defined concept of black and white. That was what made his decision last season with the Meth House so shocking. Charming was his first concern. Jax is my least favorite character. It is not that I don't like him, I just find other characters on the show more interesting. Jax is too mopey all the time, almost like he is in a perpetual pity party. Plus that actor portraying him has this annoying strut that he turns on and off at inopportune moments. Tara would be my next least favorite. Although the second season gave her a bit of a backbone, I am interested to see where her character goes. And the loss of Halfsack was a blow. I would have preferred to see a different main character go; think: Juice; who wasn't as involved in the main storylines. However, it was a good gut wrenching moment and it equates to good writing seeing as how the actor wanted out of the show.
  17. Random kid. That was not Lyla's kid.
  18. The shooters are an unknown at this point. Rumors put them as either Mayans, Aryan Nation, Irish, or a new antagonist. The theories of the new antagonist revolve around the elder Hale and his desire to rid Charming of SAMCRO.
  19. I did not see that coming. Edge of my seat screaming at the TV. I loved the line Clay said to Jax as they stood over the casket. The 'hard choice.' It was bugging me the whole episode, Jax's attitude. As a father, it is hard for me not to feel rage over what happened to Jax's character, and after Clay said that, it all clicked. All in all I am excited with the new season and I can't wait to see where it goes. The final two minutes were the most intense. The loss of a strong character like that, one with a strong north south compass; I am interested to see where that leads.
  20. It is interesting the number that include an energy drink, or supplement, vitamins, and the like.
  21. Yeah, TN troopers carry the 31. I have lunch with one regularly.
  22. That is the exact reason I bought my Glock elsewhere than CCA. I went in, money in hand to buy right then. It took me 20 minutes to get someone's attention, and they he acted like he could care less if I even got to look at the guns. I walked out and went elsewhere and paid more. However, I have been back in there several times afterwards, and been treated very well. I am glad I went back and gave them a chance, but I will never forget my first time and the cold shoulder I got.
