  1. Ok so i set up the chrono. this morning and broke out the handi rifle, the 700gr. was a pussycat out of the 18" barrel i could shoot it all day long. it measured in at 1302 fps with 3635 ftlbs. of energy. The 350gr extreme penatrator was not as tame clocking in at 2227 fps. and 3855 ftlbs. I think the next test will be to hang a bone in pork shoulder and shoot it, but don't worry about it being wasted the last one i shot i smoked right after and it was good. I think food tastes better if you shoot it yourself.
  2. A cylinder of 5 shot on the fast side gives a strong sensation but I wouldn't say it hurts too bad.
  3. I am runnning them in my 4" but I'm gonna try them out in my handirifle. Probalbly gonna chronograph them over the 4th. As well.
  4. everyone's worried about zombies and such. I'm getting ready for the return of the dinos. but the real reason I got them is for the Alaskan Grizzlys.
  5. So i got home on fri. and had a package waiting for me from Underwood ammo. On the left is a 700gr. hard cast lead, the right one is a 350 gr. extreme penetrator s&w500, the middle is a 45 jhp for size reference. i will say the 700gr. is a handful in a 4" but it is so much fun to shoot.
  6. looks good, will be keeping an eye open
  7. Just tried out the darker theme. I didn't really have a problem reading the default but the dark I think is alot easier to read.
  8. The durability of the steel is one part of it. The shear mass of the knife is sufficient enough to chop down fallen limb of a tree into firewood if you need to, without it being burdensome amount of weight. The back edge has enough of an edge to strike a fire steel and produce an impressive amount of spark without wearing it noticeably. Plus when you hold it you can imagine how a grizzly bear must feel with his big ol knifelike claws. But this is just how I feel about mine. it's tapatalks fault
  9. Had a big box waiting when i got home today. This is one serious knife. Can't wait to take it to the field and put it through its paces, no doubt it will take whatever.
  10. Willis do you work for the nsa by any chance. I only ask because right before I saw this knife I was searching for a new fixed blade. Whats the best way of getting one of these in my hand? Keep up the good work. it's tapatalks fault
  11. That looks like a lot of fun. Running through the woods and getting to shoot. Gonna keep an eye open for more to come. it's tapatalks fault
  12. I can shoot my rem 700 righty or lefty but my win 70 I can only shoot righty. But I have know people that with a little practice can relearn. it's tapatalks fault

    SNOW!!

Still snowing in the Trenton area. At 5.5" now. The side road are covered and US 45E has had enough traffic to pack the snow into a slick layer. But I got done what I needed to do down in town. So now its play time. it's tapatalks fault
  14. Its a shame yall are so far away. The only ones I can find around me want me to pay them to cut it up and haul it off. it's tapatalks fault
  15. This is my fuzzy little Joker helping me strap down my trailer.
  16. wow i just realized i was had the wrong truck in my mind no spilt axel on locking hubs.... going to go back under the covers with the dog now.
  17. Right, but on some of the dana axels there is a slip collar that joins the two axel shafts together and it has a vacuum acuator that moves the collar into position. unless you don't have a dana axel it has been a long time since i worked on an older chevy.
  18. i'm not sure which front axel you have but if it sounds like the acuator quit working that locks the axels together. Mine quit working last year and i swaped it out for a maual cable from these folks and it seems to work quite well.  http://4x4posi-lok.com/app_chevy-k.html
  19. they were alot softer but you could still tell what you were chewing on.
