  1. Very nice! I like the color. What color is that?
  2. Glad to hear about the gen2 mags. Can't imagine I will see one within a year given the current climate.
  3. Maybe this has been posted but anyone else get the email from Magpul about he new AK mags. Look nice and I imagine they will sell like crazy. If this has been posted I apologize.
  4. Oh Shoot - Yes and no, lol. I have another rifle configuration AR but it is typically at work. I guess technically I can keep the spare stock for that rifle legally. But I figure if the man comes knocking and I have the pistol with a stock in the house but my rifle is at work then it will be harder to say it's a spare for the rifle. I guess I just feel better knowing I have no possible way to attach a stock unless I drive an hour away to pick it up.
  5. I'm pretty much doing what Oh Shoot said to do. I'm stashing the stock in a different county on someone else's property than my house and will only have the AR pistol at my house.
  6. Agreed. Burnt bronze and tungsten are awesome. Just don't know if I will like it years down the road even though I'm obsessed with the tungsten rifle in your picture. I have looked at that picture probably a thousand times this week, it's funny you posted it. Maybe that's a sign.
  7. Thanks. Rail is 11" and I agree that earth tones look good. Your build sounds pretty slick didn't think of a perm suppressor.
  8. Thanks guys, leaning toward FDE or Patriot Brown and all FDE furniture.

    Smith & Wesson AR-15

Bought a "tactical" model years ago when they first came out. I still have it and have yet to have a problem despite running some nasty frangible ammo quite a bit. I imagine mine is inherently more reliable because it is "tactical" lol. If i had to do it over again though i would probably buy a base model and go from there since I tend to change parts out anyway. Go for it if the price is right.
  10. I do have it on backward because I don't have it attached and I didn't feel like loosening the bolt to slide it on for a pic. I'm lazy. Nothing in the pic is attached at all, it is just laying on my floor.
  11. No form 1 yet, but considering I have no trigger, no way to attach a stock, no buffer tube, no bolt carrier, bolt, firing pin and a dozen other small parts needed to assemble it I think I'll be ok. Plus it was not transferred as a pistol/rifle so I can build it as a pistol if I wanted but doubt I will have the other parts before I get the "stamp" of approval. Thanks for your concern, any comments on color though.
  12. Ok so here is where I'm at on my current build. Seekins lower, Spikes 11.5" CHF lightweight barrel, Aero Precision Upper, KAC trigger guard, Magpul CTR (I have multiple colors), Troy VTAC rail, and Raptor Charging Handle (not pictured) What I need to decide is what color to cerakote. My current thought are one of the following: tungsten, graphite black, fde, magpul od, combat grey, sniper grey. Comment on color or build in general welcome. Still need several small parts and bcg. Weapon not assembled in pic.

    Burnt Bronze

I contemplated burnt bronze on my current build but I have decided to go with tungsten. I still like burnt bronze though.
  14. Seems a lot of 1911 guys on the web don't like para for whatever reason, I imagine because it's not a Colt or Springfield. I had a black SSP and loved it, never had a single issue. Wish I had it back.
  15. Wasn't sure wear to post but anybody have an idea where to locate one of the Krebs Extended Sporting Safeties? It appears Krebs has discontinued them and I was hoping to get one or two. Looking to modify them into left hand friendly safeties for my two AKs. I know there are other solutions but I want to be able to hit it with my left thumb.
  16. Really like Kahrs. I think they just look classy. I really need an MK9, as the smallest gun I have is my Glock 19, but I really have the 1911 itch. Too many guns and not enough money!
  17. Cool thanks everyone!
  18. Anybody have one? Reliability? I have the 1911 itch again. I owned a Para SSP and regret selling it. It was my only 1911 to date as I am a Glock guy. However, I miss the feel of the 1911 and wondering if the Spartan would serve me well. I like the features that come standard. I would like a high end 1911 but can't justify the price because I will probably stick to Glock on my duty rig. That said though if I got a wild hair and like the Spartan, would it be a feasible duty gun after reliability testing? Might have it cerakoted/duracoated as I understand it is parkerized. I think I might be drawn to it because my call sign in Iraq was Spartan 6, lol.
  19. Very nice! I'm a non traditional AK guy myself.
  20. Has there been any reported issues with the bolts coming loose that you are aware of, or problems with bolting to such thin metal? This just seems too simple or am I over thinking it?
  21. Anybody know the easiest way to install a stormwerkz or ace folding folding mechanism to a Yugo M92 pistol? Waiting on my stamp to come back and brainstorming ideas. Also anyone that does the work needed in middle tn? I've heard that drill and tapping doesn't work because not enough metal, I've heard drilling and putting bolts inside but then you have to worry about bolts floating around your reciever. I don't weld so if that is the solution will need someone. Thoughts?
  22. I've struggled with this as well. I flirted with a 1911 for a while and loved it. Problem was I knew I was stuck with Glocks for work so couldn't justify a 1911 habit. Nothing beats a 1911 trigger but the more I shot it the worse I got with my Glocks. So settled for the Glock addiction, lol.
  23. I like it even though I know I shouldn't. Would be awesome conversation gun and would look sweet in one of those "in case of zombies" cases. Of course bonus points if you chop the barrel down to the wood and the stock off to a pistol grip.
  24. 6.8 - I knew it wouldn't appeal to traditionalists so no offense taken. Weight doesn't seem noticeably heavier. I'm sure on a scale it is but when I pick it up I don't notice a difference. I think it balances better with the ace folder and I get a good cheek weld. It still maintains the handiness factor that made the rifle appeal to me. I didn't care for ak's until I shot this one and it does seem to like you to run it fast. When I bought it I knew it would be a project gun for me so you will probably see it go through several changes, trial and error.
  25. Updated: installed Midwest Industries extended SS Rail. Love it! Also got an extended phantom brake and new 2" extension just haven't installed it yet.
