  1. There is ###.com which is a TN based gun classified site.
  2. ++ TIME-SERT Threaded inserts for stripped threads, threaded inserts, thread repair stripped sparkplug's, Ford sparkplug blowouts, threaded inserts threaded, repair stripped threads, stripped threads, inserts threaded inserts, Ford spark plug repair, These are similar to Helicoil but work a little better. They are a little pricey for a single use though.
  3. 5.8 grains of Unique will be a good load. Remember on the plated bullets, you should use lead data or "light" jacketed data. The plated bullets are great they just will not stand up to some of the "hotter" jacketed data.
  4. So what shop did you find this piece of junk? I have been hunting a shop in TN that I could buy a 17 or 22 direct from and not have to pay shipping and transfer fees.
  5. Too throw one more in the mix, I use Royal Purple 20-50, only because I have a half a quart left over every time I change the oil in my motorcycle. I get a couple of syringes with some large needles (forget what gauge, the biggest they sell) and they work great for lube. I throw one in my range box and one on my work bench, Half a quart goes a long way. Use it on my 1911's, Glock's and all other firearms.
  6. The only time I segregate handgun brass is if I am working up some special load for a specific purpose. Otherwise I mix all different brands.
  7. Well to throw one more in the mix, 5.0 grains of Red Dot and 200gr LSWC. It shoots great in my Kimber and Dan Wesson.

    .22 semiautomatic

My son has a Berreta Neos. It has shot every brand of bulk pack .22. We have been very pleased with it so far.
  9. Speer Lawman is about as good as practice ammo gets.
  10. I like the looks of the RTF but shooting one more than 100 rounds at the range it is very abrasive to the hand. They do eliminate any problems with damp/wet hands that may be a problem with a standard Glock frame. But I like the regular frames on my 23 and 35.
  11. I too used the lone wolf. Only thing I did was too use a G17 mag. However, I have accidentally used my 22 mag. with 9mm and it ran fine. I did not change anything else and it has ran 100%.
  12. I had the XDM 3.8 .40 and did not care for it either, can't really point to any particular reason, it just never grew on me. I traded a couple of times before I settled on a Glock 23. As stated above, if it is a gun that does not suit you, eat the loss and move on.
  13. The 552 was the first gun I shot in about '74-'75. It was passed down to me by my grandfather several years ago and I have made sure it was the first gun my two sons shot when they turned 5, one son is 20 and the other is 9 now. In all my memories, I do not recall a single malfunction. When I got it from my Granddad, I am pretty sure the action had not been cleaned since I first shot it in 75. This is to say it was quite dirty and still shot flawless. These are great rifles.
  14. I have been looking a t those in 9mm for my wife. I like the version that comes with mag pouch holster and light for the rail. Seems like a pretty nice package. I have been concerned just because of it's relation to the Sigma. I have a friend who had a Sigma and it was not a very good gun. Certainly not up to S&W standards. But it sounds like they have worked the bugs out.
  15. I think the Star pistols always seemed to be one of the better low cost pistols made. They were built heavy and seemed of decent quality for the price. However, $200 seems high for the condition you describe. $200 would be a fair price for one in nice condition.
  16. I have two Kimbers with a total of 4 factory mags and have had no problem with either of them in the Kimbers and 1 Dan Wesson 1911. But it is also well known these mags a the culprit in most problems. However I do carry Wilsons in all of them....
  17. Middle Tennessee Gunsmithing This guy is a sponsor on here and I have heard does goos work.
  18. You can get Wilson "rebuild" kits to go in your other magazines for $7.95 instead of tossing them. Replacement Springs / Followers-Wilson Combat
  19. I installed a set of XS big dot sights on my Glock 23. I wasn't sure I would like them but I shoot better with them, even out to 25 yards, than any other sights I have used. I pick up the sights faster and shoot more accurately with them. I like them enough that as funds permit, I will be installing them on my two 1911's and Glock 35.
  20. Let me speak-up on behalf of Rangemaster. I am not affiliated with them, however, I took my HCP instructors course with them this past summer. Tom Givens is one of the most knowledgeable instructors I have dealt with. I would put his instructor staff up against any in the country. He and they took my skill as a shooter and instructor to a new level that I did not think possible. Coming in as an infantry Marine(0311) and rifle line coach, I did not expect to learn much and I was sorely mistaken. As part of the instructors course, we were familiarized and shot with a number of "lower" quality firearms. Tom and his staff have a lot of experience with these firearms and I will defer to them when they have seen an inordinate amount of failures in a particular firearm. I will not argue that a particular employee may have come off as unpleasant, some one could have had a bad day, their statement taken wrong or out of context, I don't know. However, I do know you will not receive a better and more informative HCP class. As a matter of fact, even though I can teach and certify my wife, we/she will be going down this spring or summer to have her go through Tom's wife class to get her permit. She and another female instructor will shame most male shooters.
  21. I will also recommend the Safe House in Nashville. They have several safes in that price range.
  22. FS: New panel listings for SP101 & GP100 Compact - Ruger Forum This guy makes some pink grip inserts for the SP101.
  23. In general I would advise against air-weight J frames for most women. However, it is dependent on the woman. My wife simply can not and will not shoot my lightweight revolvers. But I have seen many who can. One thing to consider is, even if she can pull the trigger without much complaint, will she develop a flinch in anticipation of the recoil. As stated above, if she is set on a J frame, look for a steel frame or check out the Ruder SP101. They have a good bit of weight but small enough to conceal easily.
  24. They are great guns. I had a 2in. Speed Six and sold it several years ago. I have been trying to find another for about 3 years with no luck.
  25. I don't believe the bevertail and magazine catch are stainless. If not those parts will rust pretty quickly without the blueing.
