  1. Well, you know first hand. Criminal clients are far down the risk scale usually. Some exceptions of course. We try to nip issues in the bud, before it gets out of hand. I've also escorted several parties to their vehicle while the other party was held in the courtroom until they had safely left. Worked so far for 3 yrs. I've even on rare occasion had to escort an attorney to their vehicle. Imagine that! LOL
  2. Well, you're right about that. She'll use every venue known to mankind. Word is her network isn't doing so well. As you say, the media ( Liberal) will squeeze all they can get out of it. Thank God & Greyhound!
  3. Frankly, I'm glad this run is over, at least on Channel 4. Like Donald Trump, way too much exposure. Talk show, magazine, OWN network. Enough already. JMHO
  4. bajabuc, you couldn't be more wrong. Ever been in the courthouse during court? As a "courthouse officer" myself, I can assure you we are there for more reasons than Islam extremists. Even at our local courthouse in one of the smallest counties in TN, there can be a few hundred folks packed in there. I've been doing Courtroom Security/Court Officer since we began the program 3yrs. ago. This program came down from Homeland Security, thru the Administrative Office Of the TN Supreme Court. Partly due, ie: the Atlanta Courthouse shooting debacle a few yrs ago. Not all "terrorists" wear towels on the head. Ever been in a civil case regarding divorce, child custody, child support, etc.? Tempers flare in a heartbeat. Criminal court...victims family wants to take out the defendant. All sorts of things can happen in court. Our job in general is to keep order & make sure all go home safe. Althoughy we are armed, guess who's going to get first contact? Part of the job.
  5. +1 Same here. Hardly ever find anything I want to buy. Just enjoy looking, fondling new stuff on the market, etc. Still looking for a good used or new single shot 16 ga. I went to the show this AM, seemed to be down somewhat. Came away empty handed, & wallet $8 smaller.
  6. I never said Brian was the BG here. My concern is what the ATF will glean form the article itself. Mr. Gee remains to be seen. If you want to supply info, have at it. I'll watch from the sidelines.
  7. And as soon as this info hits the press, you're gonna get a knock on the door from ATF to check things out. Wouldn't touch it with a 40' pole.
  8. You're welcome. Sorry you missed the fun. LOL Seriously, I'm glad you got out when you did. Thanks for your service as well.
  9. I've learned quite bit myself. Think it was safer to be in 'Nam than be around you guys. At least I knew when I got shot, it wasn't no accident. LOL
  10. Some interesting info guys. Gonna be interesting to see how this all shakes out.... if we ever do. Got a bit of an odor to it.
  11. Took 5 hits in 'Nam in '67. two by auto weapons, three by hand grenade schrapnel. Few more pieces of schrapnel still in there. Spent 16 mos. in Army hospital. Doc said I'd likely lose the right leg. Still walking around on it. Just hard headed, I guess. LOL Yes, it hurt like he##!
  12. Possibly, LOL. I'd have a hacksaw handy just in case there's that knock on the door. On the other hand, the "jack-booted thugs" wouldn't knock. Gonna be interesting to see if BATF makes a bad incident worse, and to their advantage. Really don't like these folks!
  13. Very tragic, indeed. Saw the report on the news & the article in the Tennessean this AM. The BATF is investigating. Likely they will recommend banning assault rifles as a result.
  14. Are you referring to civil papers, ie: divorce papers, etc. Who do you work for? An attorney? Question is a bit broad.
  15. Hornady XTP 155 gr. HS-6 7.8 grs. CCI 500 in Glock 22 & XDM. Used for target. Likely would ruin someones day as well. I use factory for PD. Remington Golden Saber 180 gr. JHP. This is our duty ammo & my PD as well. It works.
  16. We wish you guys the best. Everyone in Mid. Tn. remembers the May flood last year. I live & work In Hartsville. We're no stranger to floods. IN 1927, before the dams were built, flood waters were chest deep in the courthouse. These a plaque on the wall with the high water mark. Keep your eyes on the water, sounds like it may get worse.
  17. Sounds like BS to me. No mention of the town name, can't imagine in this situation the 911 op. would advise to hang up & call the other line.
  18. Got that right. I've been there several times, same result. The one in Lebanon usually has someone there. That's where I go mostly. As far as the ammo tax thing, I don't mind 0.10, if it goes to the TWRA, or some worthwhile cause.
  19. LMAO. We get these conversations all the time. Wish I could have witnessed that one. Thanks...
  20. Proof that folks can be highly educated, and ignorant at the same time.
  21. LngRngShtr gave you some good advice. I have an old powder measure, used with a single stage press. (old school ), still like to do it the hard way & know what's in there. Anyway, it usually takes a few throws to get things settled down, whether it's the measure or my rhythm. After that, it's quite accurate. Still check it with a scale. I don't trust nothing or nobody when it comes to reloading. Just $0.02 from an old codger. LOL
  22. Just wondering if you're going into gun smithing or armor. An actual gunsmith will require more than you mention. Lots of armorer classes around. Can relate to the Dept. budget crunch. All the smaller Depts. have fallen victim to this bug. If our Co. Commission had it's way, most of us wouldn't have a job. Still living back in the "Andy & Barney" mentality. Good luck to you, regardless.
