  1. Not many things man has made that cannot fail. Take care of your equipment...it'll take care of you. Guns & accessories are not a set & forget item.
  2. Yeah, I don't like clocks either. No trigger, hammer, magazine, barrel. Great for keeping up with the time of day tho.
  3. I like going to the gun shows. Personally, I would prefer they keep the flea mkt. stuff out of it. I'm sure it helps pay the bills, but with admission continually going up, not sure they can justify that issue. I'm not into jerky or knives, but obviously some are, or the dealers couldn't afford to keep showing up. Best part being, lots of stuff to lay eyes & hands on, you won't find in any one store. As someone else stated, the Goodman show has gone downhill since the old days with multi bldgs. Would be interested to know why that is. Not like the fairgrounds buildings are all full on that weekend. RK shows are nowhere near what they were in the old Walmart bldg. in Smyrna. In spite of all the B'ing & griping, I still enjoy going. Exception: Franklin show. Total waste of time & admission. Won't go back there. BTW, it started out great as well.
  4. Went to the Gallatin show about mid-day. Decent show, building not filled to capacity with dealers or buyers. Parking was improved...gravel where there was mud back in the winter. Just too many shows, too close together, according to some dealers I talked to. Still looking for an old/new, 16ga. single shot at a decent price. All I find are Winchester Mod. 37 @ $ 200 - $350 range.
  5. LOL, you beat me to it! Was going to ask the same thing.
  6. Doesn't really matter. This bill would have about the same chance as a snowball in a furnace. Maybe later, not right now.
  7. Always seemed strange to me is why this moron, who could have made himself a General, Prime Minister, El Presidente'. etc., instead made himself a "Colonel"!
  8. Cypher, as suggested, the first thing you need to do is find out from the DOS, what happened to cause your HCP to be revoked. Don't spend money on an attorney until you have to. If this is a screwup by DOS, let them fix it, then take the correction to the DA or court as required, and get a court order for the return of the gun & permit. As for notifying the officer, as you did, that you were carrying, you did right. The "law" doesn't require it, but it is accepted procedure. Things work better that way. As for any order of protection, you could have one issued by the court "ex parte'", which is usually issued in case of emergency, until everyone involved gets into court. In that case you would not have been notified beforehand. Since you say you haven't had any problem of this nature, it's not likely. I work in LE & a Court Officer. This is the usual procedure for such matters. Whether this fits your situation exactly, I can't say. Just an educated guess. Wait until you get word from DOS & go from there. Little else you can do 'til then. If you do have a more serious problem, then a lawyer may be in order. Good luck...
  9. Never give away your location. The element of surprise is the best thing you have going for you vs a BG. Racking a shell into the chamber, firing a warning shot, yelling get out of here, may just be the last thing you ever do.
  10. Yeah, I kept expecting the gun to go off accidentally.
  11. Never attended the Cave City show. Used to go to the show in Louisville years ago. That was a heck of a show, but rather a long trip, plus the lines were enormous. Don't know if it's still going on there. At that time they were in Feb. & June. How big is the Cave Cty show?
  12. Never heard of this myself, but I'd like to see a field test, rather than the mfg. claims.
  13. Went to both shows today. The 'boro had a decent crowd at mid-day, with the exception of some of the usual flea market crap. Goodman's crowd was down a bit from usual. Flea mkt. stuff here as well. I know this fills table space, but.... BTW, Goodman has increased admission to $8. I would like to see more guns & less junk for the price. JMHO
  14. Good advice, John. I use a separate factory crimp die. Would recommend it for semi auto. I still use a single stage press, Ohaus scale, check charges from the measure every 10 rds. or less. Takes a while longer, but feel more confident with this setup. Been doing it old school, off & on for 40+ yrs. Never had an issue.
  15. It hurts both shows. Why they can't separate these makes no sense. They'd both make more money separately. Anyway, great weather for a change to get out & go.
  16. As a LEO myself, the TN Sheriffs Assn. is a legit organization. They do support law enforcement activities, as well as charity work, etc. This part I agree with. As stated in earlier posts, the org. hasn't always been friendly to 2A. Not all members fall into this group, of course, myself included. Use your own judgment as to how it balances out. I scrapped mine as I don't have $25 to spare right now for this type of thing, and it's a bit too political for my taste. JMHO
  17. Don't even consider seating deeper. No way to know what pressure you're getting. As suggested, get a bullet puller, & start over, 5 at a time, until it cycles smoothly "each" time. Make certain you have the correct "clays".
  18. Who made the video, BATF?
  19. Send Al Gore a PM, he'll be glad to hear that. LOL
  20. The Limb Saver recoil pads do a good job with recoil. Lighter reloads would be a good way to go for paper punching.
  21. Welcome to TGO.
  22. Welcome, oh Ancient one, to TGO & Tenn. You have all of 2 yrs. on me. LOL No doubt you'll enjoy your time on TGO. Lots of straight shooting folks.

    OK, I'm on.....
  24. I would think that if they qualify, they could use a regular HCP for off campus situations, locations. Age being borderline here. On campus security hasn't worked very well at some local campuses lately either. Security or police can't be everywhere at all times. 911 doesn't work well if you're already dead.
  25. Being one of the local LEOs, sounds good to me. LOL
