  1. Yeah, I kept expecting the gun to go off accidentally.
  2. Never attended the Cave City show. Used to go to the show in Louisville years ago. That was a heck of a show, but rather a long trip, plus the lines were enormous. Don't know if it's still going on there. At that time they were in Feb. & June. How big is the Cave Cty show?
  3. Never heard of this myself, but I'd like to see a field test, rather than the mfg. claims.
  4. Went to both shows today. The 'boro had a decent crowd at mid-day, with the exception of some of the usual flea market crap. Goodman's crowd was down a bit from usual. Flea mkt. stuff here as well. I know this fills table space, but.... BTW, Goodman has increased admission to $8. I would like to see more guns & less junk for the price. JMHO
  5. Good advice, John. I use a separate factory crimp die. Would recommend it for semi auto. I still use a single stage press, Ohaus scale, check charges from the measure every 10 rds. or less. Takes a while longer, but feel more confident with this setup. Been doing it old school, off & on for 40+ yrs. Never had an issue.
  6. It hurts both shows. Why they can't separate these makes no sense. They'd both make more money separately. Anyway, great weather for a change to get out & go.
  7. As a LEO myself, the TN Sheriffs Assn. is a legit organization. They do support law enforcement activities, as well as charity work, etc. This part I agree with. As stated in earlier posts, the org. hasn't always been friendly to 2A. Not all members fall into this group, of course, myself included. Use your own judgment as to how it balances out. I scrapped mine as I don't have $25 to spare right now for this type of thing, and it's a bit too political for my taste. JMHO
  8. Don't even consider seating deeper. No way to know what pressure you're getting. As suggested, get a bullet puller, & start over, 5 at a time, until it cycles smoothly "each" time. Make certain you have the correct "clays".
  9. Send Al Gore a PM, he'll be glad to hear that. LOL
  10. The Limb Saver recoil pads do a good job with recoil. Lighter reloads would be a good way to go for paper punching.
  11. Welcome, oh Ancient one, to TGO & Tenn. You have all of 2 yrs. on me. LOL No doubt you'll enjoy your time on TGO. Lots of straight shooting folks.
  12. I would think that if they qualify, they could use a regular HCP for off campus situations, locations. Age being borderline here. On campus security hasn't worked very well at some local campuses lately either. Security or police can't be everywhere at all times. 911 doesn't work well if you're already dead.
  13. I traded my Glock22 40 S&W for a XDm 40 full size. Now wish I had waited for the compact XDm to carry. Full size just too big & heavy. Also like the Taurus PT709. Good feeling gun, good carry size....yeah, I've read all the horror stories & the good reports as well on Taurus. If I had the dough, I'd still buy it. Decisions, decisions. LOL
  14. I'll be going to the show in the 'boro for sure, might make both. BTW, just signed up for the TGO Premium membership. Great site...time to pay my way. LOL
  15. Unions need to continually strike to justify their existence. Unions were a good thing in the old days, not so much anymore. Excessive wages & benefits have driven up costs to the point of shutting businesses down. The market can only bear so much. Nothing against teachers, but I haven't seen any evidence where pouring more money or benefits on teachers makes kids any smarter. The same money added to the schools resources might. JMHO
  16. As a LEO myself, it is a reminder that you never know what you will face when you show up for work. There was a time when a subject would hesitate to fire on an officer. No longer the case. Life means nothing to these people anymore, regardless of occupation.
  17. If this bill should pass, unless it does not contain an opt-out clause, like the famous "parks" bill, most, if not all colleges will refuse to allow guns on campus. If you leave loopholes in any gun bill, it will be shot full of holes. Why they don't get these bills right the first time is beyond comprehension. Until we get a law that allows any law abiding citizen to carry wherever he/she chooses, without restriction, we will constantly be adding band-aids to fix these things, over & over again.
  18. The answer is obvious. I never watch Couric or CBS for the same reason CBS & Cronkite screwed us grunts over during 'Nam. Slants & lies from the Lib. media. Now that Osama is wearing the crown, you don't see all the body bags the media were lining up to show when GW was Pres. What else is new, huh?
  19. My first experience with interchangeable back straps was with a Walther P99. Worked really great for me with the small strap. Currently have a XDm 40, full size, with the small strap. My hand isn't all that small, but the fingers are short by comparison. It is no gimmick, and does make quite a difference for some folks. Some don't need it. Big thing is, you have a choice. It does expand the market for a particular gun to a larger group of people.
  20. Locally, Reloaders Bench in Mt. Juliet. They have a heck of a selection in that small building. Friendly folks too. Otherwise, MidSouth, Midway. Haven't had much luck with reloading supplies at gun shows. Prices are sometimes cheaper online, but after you add in shipping, etc., the Reloaders Bench is usually about the same price, and you don't have to wait several days for the stuff to show up.
