Looking for someone to chop a Glock grip

Recommended Posts

So befoee I go chasing down a gunsmith, I wanted to post here. Does anyone here do polymer pistol mods on the side or as your mainline? Id rather support someone on the forum than an unknown. I have a G34 that I want to have the Glock hump removed/grip reduced in diameter, the finger grooves smoothed off, and have it chopped to Glock 19 length then the whole thing stippled with something with some grip that isnt so aggressive it shred hands and clothes. Anybody here the does that kind of work? Will Travel anywhere from Nashville to the NC state line. Located in Knoxville area.

If there is someone in the area that does this work, I haven't heard of them, and this isn't the kind of work that you want to be some newbie's "First" for either.  You will probably need to send it off.

I've had some work done by this guy and have seen a lot of other examples of what he can do.  He's good.

Vid Customs did a modification on a Gen4 Glock 17 for a friend of mine. Highly recommend. Debating sending him my 21.

Im actually dropping the 34 off with him tomorrow. Hes gonna take off the Glock hump, do a grip reduction and stipple it and chop it to G19 length.

Update me when you get this back. It seems hard to find a plastic gunsmith here in ETenn. Several I’ve spoken with refuse to work on “plastic” guns.  But I’m sure they still prefer a carb over efi and rabbit ears with tin foil over cable too!  Either I get rid of my 32 hump or I have to buy a Glock clone to make it “fit” me a bit better.

I will definitely update with pictures and a review. I dropped it off this morning, spent about an hour there talking guns, mutual aquitances and generally shooting the ####. Good guy to talk to, and the work I saw in person today looked good.

I looked at that guy's website and the gallery of work he's already done.  You sure that's the route you want to go?

As has already been shown in another thread, it's hard to go back to good from ... not so good.

I looked at some work he did in person today while I was there and spent awhile chatting. His website doesnt do his work justice in my opinion.  I will definitely update with good pics and an honest review once he is done. Quoted an approximate two week turn around.

Hell if you find out it’s not something you love, there are always stuff out there to make it fit the 17/34 mags flush again.  Or even a new Timberwolf frame etc. I probably personally would have went a different route than the chop but I’m interested in seeing how it turns out. I’ve heard you can use a p80 compact frame or a timberwolf compact frame, g34 slide and a lone wolf 19xl barrel/ or I think a gen 5 34 barrel. Probably would have been more expensive but not a permanent chop to a Glock frame.  I say that but want the hump gone on my g32!

Got it back today. I havent had time to do a proper range day but i loaded up some mags and ran it through its paces for 50 rounds. So far the work looks and feels excellent. I had a 360 grip reduction, stipple job, cut to 19 length, and had it machined for a Holosun 507K and cerakoted. The work looks top notch and its exactly what I wanted. Turn around time was 3 weeks from drop off to pick up and pricing was more than fair.
