I wanted to extend a heartfelt thank you to all LEO's who frequent these boards for your service and your sacrifices.

Thank you for working past your shift to finish a call...

For working odd shifts that interfere with you and your family's time...

For dealing with a skewed idiot/good citizen ratio everyday...

For being professional but friendly; some people are nervous even when they didn't do anything...

For patrolling on summer days while having to wear a hot vest...

For the 2am domestic disturbance calls that can just NEVER be any freakin' fun to deal with, but you do anyway...

For fair warnings instead of citations where applicable for deserving citizens (as opposed to idiots...ticket those dumbasses!)...

For having to listen to "It's not mine"...over and over and over....

For backing each other up on dangerous calls so diligently...

For having the heart to serve a community that may not always seem to appreciate your presence...

For saving people from others who would harm them...

For saving people from harming themselves...

For helping me to feel a little safer just by seeing a cruiser roll by...

Thank you for everything you do, really.

Readers of this thread, please feel free to add to this list.

God bless and be safe, all of you.

And God bless the families and friends of officers who have fallen; there have been too many recently. :D

What's that spot on the end of your nose? Need help out of a ticket?

I kid, I kid.

Yes, what he said.

Thank You.

LOL...I got it. :) No brown nosing and I have no tickets. I just know that these guys and gals rarely hear thank you.

Mostly just "It's not mine." :D

Thank you all for the kind words. I am an LEO and have been for the last 13.5 years. I was US Navy for 8 years prior to this. You were right in the fact that we do not hear very often, "Thank you!" We are usually the bad guys. Most folks do not want us around until their very life depends on it and then they want us to stand between them and the danger. All in a days work I reckon. It is a calling on my part. This is where God wants me to be. Can't argue with God. Well, I guess you can but we would be on the losing end. Take care and God Bless.

Thanks for doing the things the average person NEVER has to deal with.

Thank you for leaving the scene of a wreck where you watched a child breathe it's last breath, but still having the determination to continue on with your shift.

Thank you for risking catching HIV or Hepatitis trying to catch the bleeding perp that just robbed me.

Thank you for doing an often thankless, grueling job for mediocre money.

Thank you for giving me a real hero to look up to as a kid.

For the guys on here that know me and read this...Thank you for being my friends.

Thanks guys very much for those words. Thankfully I work in a small community where I can literally stop by and waste a little time on people's porches and I sometimes do hear those words. But you're right, it is very seldom most of the time.

And by the way, WELCOME TO TGO MR. DAVID COLE. Great place to be from what I've seen. I'll send you a PM.

Thanks again fellers.

Yes thanks for all you do (except the tickets, honestly I hate the tickets. Other than that one exception) thanks.

A special thanks to Shadow12, did everyone know that since he has been back on street duty not one home invasion has happened in Oak Ridge.

Yeah a car jacking or 6 but they are going to do that no matter what, it is Oak Ridge after all.

But! Not one home invasion! Thanks Shadow.

I gotta say, in my limited time in the Academy and riding around with some LE you guys do some great work. I can also understand the cynical nature that could arise very quickly and yet most stay professional. Thanks for a job well done.

BTW - I hate "love fest" stuff, but I absolutely can't stand the LE bashing that some folks can't seem to get past.

yes, thanks to ALL the guys in uniform, lord knows they put their life on the line every day.

i honestly didnt like LEO until a year or so after i graduated high school and actually opened my eyes to what they have to do on a daily basis. most people just see them when they get a ticket (and complain that they got a ticket, even though they were breaking the law) or when the LEO gets media coverage because they screwed up or are being investigated.

its a bad place out there and its only getting worse.

Hats off for the po po.:hat:.....And dont forget us who run into burning buildings as everone is running out.....:poop:

Yeah we think you guys are NUTS for that. Of course ya'll think we're nuts for running to gunfire instead of away. Ya'll seem either warped:screwy: :screwy:or incredibly dedicated:usa::mad::usa: for running into, what, 1200, 1400 degree:death: heat:eek:? But it's a job that has to be done. I know if my house were on fire (God forbid) it's not my fellow ossifers I'd be calling, cause we can't put out a fire with a pair of cuffs. SO, not to hijack the thread, but I'll throw a little genuine thanks in here for the BurnMasters. Hats off to ya.
