I went to one dealer today and got a form 4 going for a suppressor I ordered a week and a half ago.

I also picked up an 870 from a second dealer.  LOL.

Form 1 done.

Thinking of doing an SBS on the cheap. Remington 870. I can probably get it done for $550 including the $200 stamp. Probably do 12-12.5" on the barrel. Someone talk me out of it. LOL

What’s the process on a SBS now? Do you have to have the receiver engraved or something?

I’ve already got a couple of 870’s I could use. So, to  do it myself just cut the barrel down and have it engraved with my name ,city and state?

Yes,..after the stamp comes back.

Here’s my super shorty I made out of an 870. It holds 4 rounds, and if I remember correctly the barrel is 6 5/8 inches.  I highly recommend an SBSIMG_9343.thumb.jpeg.0c82392740ded6cda978d6fa6d36ca43.jpeg

Cool,Did you do that one yourself? Is it registered as a AOW or SBS? I was wanting to stay with the buttstock

It’s an aow, and I did it myself.  It was a very fun project that required a lot of planning.  I turned my grandpas model 31 into an sbs with a 12 inch barrel and kept the stock, definitely nice having a stock on one if you plan to use it a lot.   I couldn’t decide so I did both.

I've gotta find out what I want to do with my slide. It came with a magpul and I'm not a fan.

I'll let you know. I'm waiting until the stamp comes back and I cut it down, but my hand slides around on the magpul. If had rubber panels, it might not be so bad. I don't understand why guys are running them so much.

Id like to have one of mine cut down to about 12” , but i didn’t know how much work it would be to cut down the mag tube and action bars.Hadn’t had time to really look at it and measure. I just was reading Alleycat72’s idea and like it.Would like to have screw in chokes , but it’s probably pointless. For sure want a stock.I got Magpuls now .

It'll end up around 12.3 ish if you want it even with the factory short 4 round tube. If it doesn't shoot like you want it, you can always have a choke installed. I'm planning on shooting buck shot. Federal flight control is a bit of a game changer.

That will be nice then if you don’t have to cut down anything else but the barrel.👍
