Needing Oil Change and Tire Rotation

I am used to doing this work in the garage with my dad, but I don't have the capability to do those things since moving here. Do you guys have any recommendations for reasonably priced oil changes and tire rotations? Since my family has never had this work done at a shop, I am not even sure what price to expect to get decent oil, a good filter, and an X pattern swap. I am thinking this would be about 30-45 for an oil change and about the same for a rotation. Please let me know if I'm way off and recommendations on where to get this done at! I need to get this done by Thursday at noon, so any info on places that do quality work and if they allow walk ins or if they require appointments and pricing would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks folks!

Double that price range and add more depending on the oil and filter used.

Most places want to add an alignment or balance to tire rotation. Double or triple that price range.

Some places have coupons that will save you a bit.

Ford quick lane did have a special for oil change and rotation for 69.95. Not sure if valid now. Oil changes are crazy price with synthetic. Local Mobil wants 100.00 for Mobil 1 change plus fee for rotation. Still doing mine on carport using ramps with Mobil 1 with filter for 30.00. Any chance for you to have access to ramps on flat concrete or pavement?

I change mine in the driveway using a floor jack. Frame changed the long filter to a short one, AC filter is short and a few dollars cheaper. Checked ratings it's the same as Frame. I get my oil at the auction house, usually $3 to $4 per quart might get a gallon for $15, 5 qt jug for $20. Last time in walmart a 5 qt jug was $30. Get the oil drain pan at Dollar Tree. If it gets trashed you're out $1.25. I use them as large flowerpot saucers. I use their fuel treatment, 2 bottles per tank every 4 to 6 months.

Just stay away from those "QUICK LUBE" business or you'll have more than a oil change to pay for. I'd check around for some local garages or ask your neighbors or friends were to take it, if you don't have the necessities to do it your self.

I go to gateway tire. Tire rotation and oil change is about 60$.

I did buy the tires there for about 10 years,  I assume they still think they came from there. 😁

Oh my god I wish. I called around and didn't hear anything less than 90 for the oil change alone!! I'm so spoiled by my dad hawking rebates at walmart and having ramps, jacks, and jack stands in the garage. Paying for this is gonna kill me

It's crazy how they advertise an oil change, but rope it in with a 32 point inspection or some #### like that. JUST CHANGE THE DAMN OIL AND FILTER. and places charge certain rates for under 5 quarts and everything over costs more per quart? damn i understand it comes in 5 quart containers, but I figured these places had barrels of oil or something in larger volume.

I do my own oil and use Costco for tire rotation. I get my tires there so it's included, but my Jeep still has the factory tires on it and it was $28.39 out the door for a rotate & balance the last time I had it done.

Guess Kroger is getting out of auto supplies. Got 24 quarts of oil for $3 per quart, some were oil and some synthetic, 0-20 to 10-50. The truck with 380K gets a blend of the different grades.

Glad I'm able to do some of my repairs. While shopping I let the driver's window down it did nothing when pressing the button to close. Think it's the motor. I go to 3 local shops, their replacement was $420 to $575. Checked online, motor is $65, regulator with motor $85. Looked at Utube video replacement, all changed the regulator. Easy job finished in 3 hours. Now the passenger window is slow and stops before closing all the way.

My grandson and I went to pull a part for items he needed. I got a list of trucks and locations for my parts wanted. All parts were the wrong color. I did get a windshield washer reservoir with motor for $19. Online motor is $59. I've been without it for 4 years, great to have it again.

Last time I took my 2500 HD Duramax I had my own oil and filters. They are over 250.00 just for the 4 filters and diesel oil. They greased it and used my stuff to change the oil and filters. Charged me 150.00 labor. Will not return to them again. That is too much, IMO. Been trading with that shop for 45 years but new owner. Takes my S-I-L about 45 minutes to do this.

Now gave my son-in-law 100.00 labor to do the same thing. Also have a grandson coming up and he has his own garage just to do his stuff and works for the city of Murfreesboro keeping their big stuff running. He works on his stuff after work. He will do my oil changes also. Very glad to pay them for their services. I will say it is hard to get my family to take money from me.

Things are leaving us old codgers" In the Be-hind!" We now must find ways to survive, on what we have, and to share it with others we meet who need help. that is God's way for us Christians, you know!
