Rental Ranges

I'm looking for a range where I can rent a coupe of handguns to try out for the wife and I. Does anyone know of some ranges closer to Cookeville than Murfreesboro? I'd especially like to try a sigma 9mm for myself and a .22 or .38 for my wife.

Thanks in advance. ;)

There's a place called Bend of the River Public Shooting Club:

2880 Standing Stone Hwy

Cookeville, TN 38506-7813

(931) 498-2829

But I don't think there are guns to rent, you'd just have to ask around. I think On Target in Mboro would be your best bet to rent-and-shoot, unless I'm not thinking about a range in between.

I took my wife to Gun City when we were engaged, nice friendly people a small selection of firearms for rent, my wife is now scared of guns because of the dark under ground range. I'd recommend an outdoor range for first timers.

Nothing motivated me to get an HCP more than just SHOPPING at Gun City. I felt like I was taking my life in my hands just going to that part of town. :)

Thanks for the help guys. I just learned I may be in Franklin at the end of the week. Guns and Leather in Greenbrier will be close enough for a visit then. ;)

If you are talking about next weekend then Uselton's will be open. They are closed for this weekend. Also, The Franklin Gun Shop has a good selection of guns to look at but no range.

Also, another vote for Guns and Leather. Good selection and good folks there

There is a small one in Joelton also. right off of I24. Not the greatest range in the world but it is not expensive and normally has lanes open. Given a choice I would rather go to Guns and Leather though. Larger selection of rental guns to choose from.

I would search the TGO forums for Uselton's then decide if you want to provide them with your patronage.

If you're looking to buy at the range where you try, my vote would also go to Guns and Leather. If you're looking at a used item, they'll put the 10 dollar rental fee to try it out towards the final purchase price if you decide to get it.

If, however, you're just looking to try, On Target would be adequate. The range is more expensive to use, but otherwise, it's perfectly fine. I just wouldn't buy there.
