Uh, folks... that $750 is actually the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price... a price that is rarely ever asked from a retail seller. The gun can most likely be bought for $100 to $150 less than that.

I will take a Ruger GP100 over ANY autoloader on the market. The GP100 will shoot the hottest .357 rounds all day long, until your hand hurts. I'm talking 625 foot pounds at the muzzle. The .357 magnum 125 grain semi-jacketed hollow point is the KING of one shot stops. You don't have to worry about failure to feed, failure to extract, magazine springs, recoil springs, lubrication, bad ammo or spent shell casings pinging all over the place and littering the crime scene. Plus you can shoot 38 special and 38 special +, for those lite days. If I could only have one handgun it would be, without a doubt, a Ruger GP100 .357. The Ruger is tough and accurate.

how are you going to get the deep blued finish?

ah who cares about that. After some shooting and holstering you might wish you had a more utilitarian finish. The Standard blue finish is very nice in and of itself.

Yep... and you can get this one for $443 ( well, you can when it's in stock... :tough: )

That leaves plenty left over for nice wood grips.

You folks who are not seeing the difference in this gun are missing the point...it takes a LOT of work to get a high gloss blue like this. It is also very resistant to corrosion - profoundly so.

Morale of the story. At first glance it is a run of the mill GP. It is not. You really don't see this much these days.

Don't believe me? Compare the quality and price of a standard 870 vs. a Wingmaster. The reason it is 2x the price is the 6 hours of manual labor it takes to produce that deep, glossy blue.
