"The Pacific" Open Thread

The last episode was tonight. I thought it was one of the best of the entire series.

I was glad they gave some conclussion to the men who were portrayed. I was disappointed they made no mention of Gunny Haney in the summation though.

It had to be sad for Sledge, Snafu and Burgie as they were on the train home. I did find it fitting that Snafu got off in New Orleans while Sledge was asleep, and there was no goodbye. I was happy for Leckie that he got the girl. The depiction of Sledge was true to life, he was at odds with his experiences in the Pacific and never got over it.

I look forward to watching this episode as well as the entire series all over again.

Overall I found this series to be one of the best shows I have ever watched.

It was a good series and I'm sure I'll re-watch it again. Somehow it seemed "rushed" as compared to Band of Brothers. The episodes were 60 minutes with 6-8 of those devoted to review and preview meaning there was only actually 52 to 54 minuets of new material whereas BOB was closer to 90 minutes.
