From what I heard on the news this morning, I don't think they said they suspected alcohol. She was taken into custody, though. Doesn't mean much. Half of the drivers in Memphis have a suspended or revoked license...

The news just said that they believe it was done intentionally. Said the driver was "arrested for vandalism and attempted second degree murder."

If you look at the sign in the picture, I'm thinking they should pursue a charge for "encroaching upon a handicap parking space"...

This is where not having certain details will cause your own biases to fill in the blanks. When I saw the picture I knew it was intentional simply because taking into account the orientation of that station to Union Ave. and the steepness of the drive there is no way that car ended up where it did if it wasn't n purpose. Plus if you read the linked story, it said she rammed the car into the lobby, backed up and took a second shot at it trying to hit a couple of officers. That sounds pretty intentional to me.

I just looked. Looks like any other fine upstanding Memphis citizen...

Theft of property over $500

Aggravated assault

Failure to appear in a felony case

Vandalism $10000 to $60000

Violation of probation

Disorderly conduct

Driving while license suspended, revoked, or canceled

Another theft over $500

Public intoxication

And of course, speeding

I agree. If a person rams their car into a police station lobby, they should not be arrested. Clear cut case of an abusive police state run amok. :P

As John Wayne's character (Sgt. Stryker) said to John Agar's character (PFC. Conway) in the '49 hit movie, "Sands of Iwo Jima", "Life is tough, but it's tougher if you're stupid." :D

She's lucky she didn't get shot.

That was through the county's system. Anything she may have done outside of Shelby County isn't shown. Anything you wanna know is out there somewhere. Just gotta know where to look. :)

I asked one of the officers from that precinct (it is 2 doors down from my work) what they did to piss that lady off and his response was "She said she didn't like cops"

If she hates cops, she needs to call a crackhead next time she needs help. :screwy:

Well that explains a lot to me.....:screwy:

She simply was beginning her reform and her first step was to return a stolen car. She should be cut some slack for seeing the error of her ways and trying to become a better citizen.:D

I mean really, she not only returned the car she turned herself in too....surly that is worth an ROR release...NO?;)
