I like the XD but my wife likes the 19 better. The XD fits my hand better. I had a few glocks and a M&P and I traded them ( except the 19 b/c my wife likes it), for the XD's I now own. I have a 19 and a XD you can try if you would like to come to Gallatin.

i've had the XD9 for 2&1/2 years, fits well in my hand, and has always performed well.

However, i'm at the point of switching to an SP101, if i can find one.

For my carry, i want something simpler like the SP101.

Not to Hi-jack this thread but have you heard about the new sp101 chambered for a .327 Federal Mag? .32 bullet with .357 mag performace with 20% less recoil and holds 6 rounds.

Glock 19 first

M&P or XD second and third.

I only own the G19 right now. I've owned probably 15 or so Glocks, never an M&P and never an XD. My main dislike of the XD is the sights (though they're far better than factory Glock sights). I recently handled the full-size and compact M&P and I was utterly shocked at how much I loved it. The compact reminded me of my Glock 33 which I no longer have...the M&Ps are everything Glocks COULD be!

I love my G19 but really hate Glock's grip angle. The 19/23/32/38 frame is the least of evils for me.

So...all that said, get the 19 first.

I'd suggest a Glock 19. Mainly because I've owned one alot longer than the XD has been on the market. It has proven itself. Glocks work. I've owned an XD briefly. It broke. I don't own an XD anymore.

The best thing about owning a Glock, other than the fact that they work, is that it makes Mar's sphincter pucker. That's reason to buy one in itself! And if you tout the virtues of a Glock on here enough, it makes it pucker tighter. It's a form of divine retribution. You gotta' love that.

myself , i carry a g-22. I absolutly love it. But as said before what fits me may not fit you. A close friend of mine carries a XD in a 45. and of course he loves his gun. So "if the gun fits, carry it."

I would say go Glock. but I also get alot of heat for being a glock lover........whatever.:bowrofl:

I have had good luck with my Glock 19 9mm overall. It is easier to find parts, holsters, and accessories for a Glock than the XD. That said, you should go to a range and try both out to see which you can shoot better.

You are starting to see more stuff for the XD's, like parts and accessories. Pistolgear, for example, has a lot of stuff. http://pistolgear.com/products.php?id=15
