What model kimber was I looking at?

I was at my local gun shop today and handled a nice stainless 4in kimber. It didn't have any model stamped on the frame but it was almost identical to a pro carry II. Is this just an older model or something? They had it marked at 619.99 plus tax. Does that sound like a good price on it? It looked to be in good shape.

it was completely stainless. I'm not sure on the capacity. Do you think its worth the money?

Honestly, I don’t think I have ever seen any Kimber sell for less than $600 unless it was broke. So yes, that is a good deal.

A 4†stainless, tax, title, and tags is going to approach $1K new.

pull and lock the slide back. look at the slide where it opens (the ejection port on the slide) inside you'll see where the firing pin hole is..as well as a little hook, thats the extractor.

that flat area around the little hole is the face of the bolt.

if it has a dent or deep scratch then the face of the bolt is weakened...

if you're still not sure, find someone that is more knowledgeable and take them with ya.

Did it look like this one? (minus the Hogue grips and magwell)

Compact Stainless II. 600 would be a steal if in good condition.

Yes it looked just like that gun. The price was $619 plus background and tax which would be around 700. It'll probably be gone before I can get back by there.:D

Kimber makes so many models now that I can't keep up with them.

Coming from a Glock guy that's pretty funny. At least with Kimber's name system... Custom, Pro, Compact, Ultra you pretty much know the configuration and only the cosmetics really change.

You almost have to be the Rainman to keep up with Glock's number system. ;)
