My wife finally got bit by the gun bug. She bought her first gun.

Remember how good it felt when you finally bought your first gun? After shooting several different pistols and revolvers at the range with me, my wife finally asked me to take her gun shopping for her own gun. She picked out a Ruger Single Six with a 5.5" barrel as her first official gun purchase. I think she made a good choice. She still shoots mine, but she's happy to have one she can call her own. In a couple weeks I'm taking her to get her carry permit.

Sweet!! Cannot go wrong with the Single Six, one of the best pistols ever made IMHO. Congrats to the wife, and good luck to her on her HCP.

That’s a great gun.

But I gotta ask what made her pick a single action revolver?

These are awesome guns, OhShoot has let me shoot his a few times and it was a blast. Not a very common choice for a first gun but if shes happy.....

Simple answer. Because she liked it! She's an experienced shooter already & it won't be a carry gun. It's for the range. This just happened to be her first gun purchase, not her fist time shooting.

By the way...she can tear it up pretty good at the range with my Cougar .45 acp & my SR9, without a problem!

I decided to make my wife a holster for her new purchase. I think it turned out pretty good, although the leather had a few blemishes to start with. I'll make a better one later. I started yesterday and finished it tonight. I used 6 oz leather and lined the inside with black suede to protect the finish & dyed to match the gun. I hand punch every hole using a Tandy Leather punch and stitch everything by hand with waxed nylon thread.
