Police Officer Killed in Chattanooga

Recommended Posts

The funeral was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. Not amazing as it is commonly used these days....life changing amazing. There were almost as many people behind me. Not one word was spoken from anyone. Lots of flags. Lots of thank you signs.

I don't know how many police officers were there, but I believe that 15 states were represented. The officer sitting in front of me drove overnight from middle Florida (Orange County). The auditorium seated closed to 3000 and about half were police, fire, and military. The people lining the streets didn't even personally know the man, but were there to say thank you. There was a little boy about my son's age about midway down the parade with holding a little sign that he made that said "Thank you for you! Officer Chapin"

A very, very humbling experience that I will simply never forget.

I watched it live on TUFF TV(WDEF's second channel). It was amazing from my view. Can only imagine the emotion of actually being there.

NCPD did a beautiful job with the riderless horse procession.

Also gotta throw props to surrounding PDs for stepping up to patrol Chattanooga Thursday. Thanks, guys

new details now reveal that a citizen held the suspect at gun point until police arrested him. Props to the guy for doing the right thing!

Well, I guess. Sounds kind of screwy to me though. Then again, they did have him testify.

Ya I was thinking he was probably lucky the cops didn't shoot him by mistake given the situation.

Just doesn't sound like it jibes with the other accounts of how the situation ended, guy said he had had a stroke which was sort of apropos of just what?, etc.

Just makes ya wonder if it really happened, and if so, why it was never mentioned before in any of the rather extensive coverage down there.
