Bullet is Nosler 180gr JHP, brass is R-P, powder Longshot 8.0gr, primer is CCI #500 SPP. COAL is 1.125".

Most stuff I get from local shops or order and go pick up from MidSouth Shooters Supply.

Depends on what you're doing with it. Plinking or competition or SD?

My target/competition round is:

Zero 180JHP over 4.9g VVN320 with CCI500 primer in range pickup brass. Loaded out to 1.20OAL. That's in my STI 1911/2011's. Not sure it even fits in a non-1911ish magazine.

I buy factory SD rounds, but that's just a preference.

I like 6.5 grains of Power pistol, CCI 500 primers and Hornady XTP 180 grain bullets in my glock 22, I've chrono'd this at 970 fps. OAL is 1.135"

Here is some pretty good stuff on 40 S&W reloading :....The 40 S&W

The 40 S&W is a lot closer to the old 38-40 black powder cartridge in power (...not dimensions...) than the 10mm (...in my opinon...).

We've been using nosler 180 grain jhps and 6.5 grains of unique in once fired brass. OAL is 1.20 (...i think...). Use the longest one you can manage. Haven't chronographed yet; but i would bet 900 to 950 fps depending on barrel length.

Shoots pretty soft to me; but worked well in our baby glock 27.

Hope this helps

Hornady XTP 155 gr. HS-6 7.8 grs. CCI 500 in Glock 22 & XDM.

Used for target. Likely would ruin someones day as well.

I use factory for PD. Remington Golden Saber 180 gr. JHP. This is our duty

ammo & my PD as well. It works.
