Would-be robber didn't see this coming

hah!

the perils of trying to use a shotgun to mug people and getting into hitting distance with a ranged weapon.  If you gonna get that close, use a sword, its quieter and easier to conceal.

If the victim had shot the thug and killed him, would it be self defense?

When he came back for the gun he should have been shot. Doesn't matter he may not have been armed... it should have been a safe assumption he was.

He was in a vehicle with an accomplice. I would have had to assume that he had rearmed himself, or that the driver was armed. Otherwise, why would he accost me a second time after having been disarmed? I would think that firing into the passenger compartment would be the most prudent action to ensure my quick escape to a safe location.

I'm reminded of the final instructions Little Bill gave English Bob when he booted him from Big Whiskey.

All I can say is, that if the thugs drove up to me after I disarmed him in an attempted armed robbery, I will surely be in fear of my life and will shoot the punks dead. Their age means nothing to me...play big people games, win big people prizes!
