If there ever was an argument for owning a gun, THIS IS IT!

As sad as what happened to this woman is, it's what we should expect when we put our life/safety in the hands of others.

Not me, not my family! When my daughter moves out, her house warming gift from me will NOT be a toaster or microwave.

The county I live in they are very short staffed as well. On top of that our county is about two hours long when driving from end to end. So if the two officers are at one end and something happens at the other it could be a few hours before they arrive. We have called officers several times over the years and the absolutely quickest they have ever been here was about 10 minutes. We have also called and never had an officer respond. Our sheriff even put out in the paper that because of budget problems they would not respond to anything unless it was life threatening. He said for all other crimes come in the following business day during business hours to report it.

The above OP and this one prove one thing. Imminent Danger is Imminent and "Hope" is not a strategy.

Then there are little girls with pink rifles.

Well that 911 department is less then useless.  Plus the 911 fee added to all the telephone bills in the area.

One needs a gun to level the field for self defense as this is a prefect example police can't be every where all the time.
