Where is your favorite Meat and three?

I do a good bit of traveling around Tennessee and need some pointers on where to get a good meal. I'm not talking about big restaurants like Cracker Barrel. I want to know where you have found a good, usually family owned meat and three.

Tell us about your favorite M & 3.

I have found one here in Nashville in the Nashboro Village area on Murfreesboro Rd called H & T's Home Cooking. She has great food at reasonable prices.

There is also one that I found in Knoxville. It is Ramsey's Cafeteria. I haven't been there in a while but it was in a Ramada Inn off of I-75 N at the Merchant Dr. exit. Anyone in Knoxville correct me if that info is incorrect or has changed. They were an all you can eat buffett. You will surely get your moneys worth!

The Clearview in Murfreesboro is a great meat and 3. Fried chicken, meatloaf, catfish, greens and beans.:biglol:

Where is this located? I am always looking for a good lunch in the Boro. If it is close to the square I will hit it up one day.

There is a place here in Clinton called the Apple Blossom, really good homemade food.

Especially their open-face Roast Beef Sandwich with Gravy.

There's a place over on Cherry St. in East Knoxville called the Country Table. Great home cooked food and massive portions.

+1 Jacob's Deli on Middlebrook as well as Wright's right next door have good food. Jacob's is not just sammiches, either.

Chattanooga.Bea's Restaurant.Best Fried Chicken in the world. They even sell t shirts that say it.

Good ole Bea's!

Not the best fried chicken, but everything else is super!

Their best feature is the seating with the lazy susan buffet at each table. That really helps me keep my girlish figure

Wish I had a really good answer for this area, Unfortunately the real mom & pop place recently increased it's hours as well as it's prices. Still not bad though for the Tri-cities.

E.B's Fillin" Station (Formerly Harr's Gas station); 2883 Hwy 126; Blountville, TN 423-323-8941. On the old road between Blountville and Bristol.

Decent (not great) country food at a reasonable price. They were pretty great before they raised the prices on the 2 biscuits and gravy plus bacon for $1.99. Now it's $2.99.

Great before; marginal now. I probably won't be back.

In Kingsport, one of the best family owned restaurants is Pop's on John B. Dennis Bypass. They have the best fried catfish I've ever had. You can get it anytime but on Friday you can order "all you can eat" and when you see the parking lot you'll know how much the locals like this place.

But I can't fail to to mention in Pigeon Forge do not fail to go at least once to "The Old Mill Restaurant." There is a lot of good eating in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg and I've tried a lot of them. But nothing can beat the Old Mill in my opinion. Not the cheapest, but I think the best. The corn chowder that comes with every meal is almost worth the cost of the meal itself.
