Hello everyone. I'm R.W. and I live in Clarksville. Obviously I'm new to the site, but this is also the first gun forum that I've ever joined. None of my friends like guns at all, and my family and husband dislike guns as well, so I'm just hoping to find a few people with similar interests to talk to about firearms every now and then.

I'm also pretty new to the gun world and I've only been shooting for a few years now. My first gun was a S&W M&P 22LR, and from there I've added a Ruger Blackhawk, a CZP01, an LCP, a Walther PPQ, a Savage Axis and a Mossberg 500. The only gun I regret buying is the Mossberg (and coincidentally it is the only one my husband picked out). Originally, I wanted the Mossberg Thunder Ranch but hubby insisted on a shotgun with a pistol grip and no stock because he prefers the way they look, so I bought the JIC model instead. He's a big guy, so he handles it fine but it's very uncomfortable for me to shoot, so I'm thinking about ordering an ATI stock or maybe just picking up a cheaper one from WalMart to see if I can handle it better then. If it doesn't work then I'll probably just sell it.

But what really motivated me to look for a forum or group was the conversation we had today about calibers. I told him that I was interested in getting myself an HK45 and a Remington R1 next year. And it kinda annoyed him, partly because he thinks guns are a waste of money (he's much more of a car guy, that's his passion), but also because he thinks it's ridiculous to get what he constantly refers to as "the same exact gun" twice. Just like when I got the cz and the walther- he thought it was foolish because he feels like they're "the exact same gun" just because they're both chambered in 9mm. No matter how many times I try to explain the differences, he just doesn't see it. So anytime I talk about getting something new in a caliber that I already own, he makes a huge joke out of it and acts like I'm retarded. It's a little frustrating when everyone around you either completely hates guns or just mildly dislikes them. So hopefully here I can just find people who actually like guns to bounce ideas off of, get tips from or even just get opinions and reviews on things that I might be looking to buy.

That's it for now. I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their afternoon.

R.W.

Welcome.

You said he is a car guy.  Next time he suggests you are getting the same gun twice draw a comparison between the variations in guns and the variations in cars.

Good luck with your situation.

That's a mistake most people only make once. To me a pistol grip shotgun is one of the most useless firearms someone can buy. Poor shot placement on the first shot followed up a more useless second shot.

But it is the preferred weapon of someone looking to knock over a 7/11.

Welcome to the forum. I sorta know how you feel except for the making you feel retarded part. My better half asked me how many guns and motorcycles I need, I asked her how many shoes does she need. It was crystal clear for then. I'm sure your ol man has a similar comparison.

Firearms are your friend :usa:
