Thanks, Shorty, sounds like an idea worth trying. It's an electric thrower.

Square Wheels started following DA / SA vs hammer for USPSA
-
I am new to shooting. I have owned two polymer, hammer 9mm. I just sold one and am looking to replace it. I want to get an all metal gun and start training for USPSA competition. I don't know what division I'll end up in. Production seems too hard without optics. Open seems too hard because it seems there are almost no limitations, I hear these people are crazy fast. So, I'll likely end up somewhere without a magwell, but with optics. I like to do online research, there are not a lot of ranges around me, and there are not a lot of options for trying out guns. Since I have only shot a hammer style, DA / SA is intriguing, and seems to be very popular in competition. I am looking at the CZ Shadow 2 Orange - optics ready, likely put a Holosun 507 on it. My biggest concern is I do a fair amount of dry firing with my hammer style and it feels safe to put back in the holster. I also like to do draws and two shots and re-holster and run that for 5 - 10 rounds in a session. Again, I am very concious of my finger and it feels "safe". I understand a lot of accidental discharges are human error - well, I'm human, and new. Is a SA / DA just as "safe" doing the live fire drill I mentioned above? I want to be able to re-hoslter and it seems like the only fast way to do that is with it cocked. Decoking (that CZ does not have a decocker) or putting the safety on would make the next draw much harder. Please overlook the ignorance's I displayed, and if you want, correct them. I'd appreciate not being bashed for asking dumb questions.

Is it a gravity feeder or electric thrower? If its a thrower maybe try a few boards with nails about 3in apart placed in front of the feeder to deter them from stepping too close. Deer should be able to step through it if they want to get closer to the feeder.

Hey guys & gals, I’m offering up a duplicate from the safe. I have another one of these that I personally love. I picked this one up for my wife hoping she would use it as a bedside home defense setup, but she just doesn’t like it. She’s just a handgun gal and there’s nothing wrong with that. Having said that, I don’t need two of them. Up for sale here is a like new Ruger LC Charger in 5.7x28. It is in excellent shape and shoots very good, less than 200 rounds through this one. It comes in the original box with all original stuff. Also included with it is a Manticore Arms/SB Tactical sliding brace, KNS Precision finger stop, two +5 TandemKross magazine extensions, and 200 rounds of factory 5.7x28 ammo to get you started. If you don’t need the ammo I don’t mind to keep it and drop the price since I have other 5.7s, just thought since I have a bunch of it I would offer it in a package deal. Asking price is $950 for it all…this is much less than I have in it. Like I said I’m only selling/trading it as I have two of these and really only need one. As far as trades go, I’m kinda getting the 2011 bug. I would love to have a Springfield Prodigy Comp model or a MAC 9 DS Comp, and I’m willing to add cash on my end to even up a trade. I’d also consider Glock MOS models, optic ready M&P 9mms, Echelon 9mms, maybe even a Tisas 1911 DS. I would also consider higher end ARs or a PSA KS-47. I will consider other trades though. I've run the same bear off from my deer feeder a couple of times this morning. Honestly, I don't mind the thing coming around for a little corn, I enjoy seeing bears and think they're beautiful animals. But "something" knocked my last feeder down and tore it up, probably the same culprit. My wife spotted it early this morning, so I went outside and yelled at it to get it to leave. He came back an hour or so later, so this time I put a few .45 rounds into the ground, and he left much more quickly than the first time. My neighbor has a small corn plot, and he told me that he went outside one morning and found a bear sitting on its butt, taking an ear of corn, eating it, then scootching down to the next stalk for the next ear. I'd have liked to have seen that. So, apart from not feeding the deer at all, is there a good strategy to deter bears from the feeder? I've thought of a low electric fence, but my wife and I enjoy seeing the deer and we don't want to discourage them. Maybe I should anchor the feeder's legs into the ground with concrete to make it harder for Yogi to tip it over.
