Of course the most well known examples such as the German K98s, nicer Enfields, and any US military will tend to move at a premium. However, you can still get serviceable, interesting rifles in fairly good condition for not too much money. Czech VZ-24s, Ishapore Enfields, Spanish FR-8s, etc. Mosins too, there seems to be a pretty wide disparity between asking and selling price. If you reload, a whole lot more options open up.

So, this is sure to ruffle the feathers of our resident Sig fan boys... but it's the reality of the situation from my end. I carry an FN FNS-9 as my "every day carry". It ended up being the lightest striker-fired, polymer-framed pistol that I shot and it feels perfect in my hand. It quickly became my main side arm. With that being said... it had an issue. In the early years of its tenure, a serious design flaw reared its ugly head. In an EXCEPTIONALLY RARE sequence of events, it appears that the FNS-9 can actually unintentionally discharge. What would lead to this? Someone would need to press the gun AGAINST a person hard enough to actually disengage the slide... and if the trigger is pulled at that PRECISE moment... one of two things would happen. The first event is that the gun will fire when the pressure is released and the slide is allowed to return forward to its rest state. The other is that the gun is left in a state of limbo, and the slightest "tap" would command the gun to go off. Okay.... How did FN respond to this? FN issued a bulletin. Anyone who has an affected gun can submit a ticket and their firearm can be upgraded to a safe version for free. TO THIS DAY... FOR A DISCONTINUED LINE OF FIREARMS...one can send their FNS-9 in for the conversion, FREE OF CHARGE. With that being said... How the hell can Sig Sauer compete with that AT THIS POINT?

While I don't carry one (for obvious reasons), I will always be a whore for the 1980s-era 586 and 686 revolvers. I have one of each. My 629 isn't too shabby, but JESUS CHRIST that frame and the .44 magnum chamber is on another level.
