  1. One of if not THE finest .30 caliber cartridges ever made for cast bullets.  That LONG neck is a real delight to work with if you like to cast your own.     Sweet little rifle.
  2.       On the subject of heavier trucks, I'm much more inclined to back off a bit.   E load range tires max inflation is 80 PSI but unless you are regularly hauling heavy loads, no way I'd run that much in the rear.  The front is different because the engine and tranny are weighing on them a lot more than the back. This is very important in diesel cause that thing is HEAVY.  I tell people in your case, unless you haul heavy loads, equal them out.  Run 60 in all four.  If you wanna haul a load of gravel or a couple dozen sheets of drywall, bump them up.     Now, this is only conjecture from doing this for years, but I do not recommend running E load range tires much below 40 or so.  Most E load range tires have tall sidewalls and they were never meant to sag and flex like a standard load tire.  I have seen many of them wear prematurely from doing so.  A guy not long ago just HAD TO HAVE some 10 ply tires.  Well, first off, there's really no such thing for 99% of passenger vehicles and light trucks.  They are 10 PLY RATED.  Read the tire.  It'll say 10 PR but in fine print it'll say 5 or 6 ply tread with a 2 or 3 ply sidewall.  YMMV.   Plys harken back to bias ply tires where the number ply actually meant something.  Now, materials are exponentially better and more can be done with less.  They didn't have rayon cord, steel belts and kevlar weave and all that crap.   Anyway, this guy HAD to have them for a standard 1/2 ton truck (dumbass) but he couldn't stand the hard ride of 50 or 60 PSI and certainly not the 80 max, so he ran 35 like his door take says.  They lasted around 30K.  Should have run MUCH longer on a tight front end and properly rotated.  He listened second go around and got over 60K out his standard load tire.   Moral?  It's no different than hunting or reloading.  More ain't always less.  Match the components to job.       And while I'm on the subject, people and these Z rated tires just kill me.  What a friggin joke that crap is.  When's the last time you ran 160 MPH continuous?  Most z rated tires have a tread wear of squat.  A michelin Pilot may have a 600-700 tread wear but crap like pirelli P zero and others have like 250-300.  They are NOT worth money.  It's all in your mind people.  Unless you're on the track or drive like a fool.  No one needs them things on a Mustang they depend on to get to the office.  ....Unless you just enjoy forking over money twice as much and then...by all means.  Us tire guys are laughing all the way to the bank.
  3. I tried a couple cheap set ups.  They were lousy.  Found out real quick you can't just attach panels to batteries and run with it.  The panel must match the batteries.  Too much battery is just as bad as too much panel.  Balance is key for success.  Getting good stuff that will actually work when you need it is still very pricey.
  4. Go by the VEHICLE not the tire.  The vehicle is designed to run a certain pressure.  They take into account the maximum payload the vehicle is designed to carry.  Over inflation (as stated) causes the center of the tire wear more than the edges and if nothing else, it can and will make it ride like a hay wagon.  The flex of a tire is part of the vehicles total suspension and has a LOT to do with ride quality.  Been doing tires over a decade now and I can't tell you how many rough riding cars I have fixed simply by PROPER inflation.
  5.       You could just leave this whole conversation on high heat until it boils down to it's base components.   Personal Responsibility.  Keep your mind on the here and now where it belongs.  Be deliberate in all things.  Man up when you do something stupid.
  6. Kinda funny how guns almost always seem to go off when you put your finger on the trigger and pull.  ...unless it's prewar Chinese or Japanese, then it's anybodys guess.
  7. Kinda wish Savage would have made a rifle exactly like this. Then I could say..... But I think the Ruger will do. It certainly has a better stock than the Axis does...then again, ANYTHING is better than an Axis stock.
  8.     Don't trust that delusion.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wIk_xg0__lc
  9. I guess as I age, laziness is overwhelming me. I bought a can to run on my AR. I've loved it more than anything I've spent money on it many moons. BUT, it looks like an elephant took a :poop: in there after a few hundred rounds and I even went with an adjustable gas block to dial it back. So tired of scrubbing and cleaning. NO more!!! This is a 16.125" 1/8 twist barrel w/ a 5,56 chamber. YH Ti Phantom and a Nikon M223 Its super light, very easy to handle and quick to shoulder. Much easier to wield than my AR. It also has a lot longer magazine inside length than an AR magazine. That'll be sweet for obvious reasons.
  10. I find it funny; The arm dope addict has had the easiest time acclimating to his environment and has adapted to survival of the fittest rather smoothly.

    AR 15 Twist

Absolutely right.  Anyone who argues that point needs to spend time with muzzle loader shooters.  I've seen muzzle loaders clover leaf at a hundred yards running a 42 inch barrel with a 1/48 inch twist.     It ALL about matching ALL of the components.  Building a "Do-All" rifle or trying to compromise and then being disappointed with the results is down right silly.
  12. It's cool he showed the man respect and care but didn't give him a free pass.  PROOF you can in fact work for the system, DO YOUR JOB and NOT be a douche.    Very cool.  If it happened around here, I'd have them a pizza delivered.
  13. Nice! I understand 'collecting' and all and that's fine if that's what you're in to but to ME; If you can't do what you've been doing with a knife then it's junk. A knife is a tool, use it or toss the dead weight. That is a damn nice tool. GT does some exemplary work.
  14. This isn't a problem.  It's just a symptom of the real problem.  I could care less about a black woman on our money.  Like Trump said, Put her on a new denomination and be happy.   BUT NO, they (who's they?!!? LOL!)   are removing and destroying anything and everything contrary to their reasoning.  When the Nazi power rose they laid waste to historical documents and artifacts that were in contradiction to their ultimate goal.  Isis is doing this right now and destroying anything that doesn't fall in line with sharia filth.     Like it or not, this is the new AmeriKa.  Don't like it?  Too bad.  For those of us under 40 or so, go cuss your elders for letting this happen.  It started long ago but the ball started rolling in the 60's and has picked up speed ever since.     The ONLY reason the Feds and the liberal movement can do what they do today is because they have been allowed to.  My father, grand father and great grand father are directly responsible and so are yours.  This isn't a blame game mind you but good men sat on their ass and allowed the GCA of 1934 & 1968.  Good men sat by and did nothing during Roe vs Wade.  Good men sat by and let a bunch of GD tree hugging hippies bring communism in our homes and now the roots run so deep, the whole of our land will need to be turned, tilled and disced to get it out.       The Constitution is [was] a beautiful document flawlessly prepared with checks and balances.  The American men and women of the last century have done a piss poor job of using those checks to maintain balance.  AND, guess what?  It's too late. IF you think there's anything left to save, one word....Delusion.           I could give a rats azz about a $20 bill and who's picture is on it.  It's the message this change conveys, not the action itself.
  15. I can't tell you how many thousands Ive run through mine. My hand press is pretty chewed up in the middle cause Im bad about just throwing it in the bench vise to hold it steady. I have a small vise on the same bench as my other 4 presses. I love the little hand press. It's extremely handy for catch up work and onesey twoseys, like when you reach the end of a thousand round lot and realize you only prepped 997 pcs of brass cause you're to stupid to count right the first time, but you don't wanna pull down the the set ups. .
  16. No way to market these though.  No way in hell Nintendo would license it.
  17. My best .308 loads thus far have been with AA2460 and IMR 4166   IMR 4166 was a REAL pleasant surprise for me.  Happened upon it by accident and my FN FNAR Competition will eat it and spit out ragged holes under 2 inches all day.  ....AND that's a 20 round magazine, not some 3 round group that tells nothing but lies.
  18. It works well with lighter bullets. It's very bulky stuff. Probably not the best choice for heavier bullets.
  19. I dunno about that. Sometimes when I binge on cheese and things get bound up, I can listen to him and/or Alannis Morrisette and things will start moving freely again.

That Blackhawk in the middle looks like a pretty fair old beater. Might make a good tackle box pistol or toss it under the truck seat.
  21. I hope Neil Young will remember that a Southern Man don't need him around any how.
  22. They have lots of ends, my issue here is finding ones that will accommodate the larger cable I have.
  23. Well, first, only a fool would leave it plugged. When/if the power goes out, I would throw the main and the circuit I intend to use.
