  1. OK, I put the RAM in my standard M&P and it did improve the reset. But I'm no 'smith. I want a trigger as close to a 1911 with 4-5 #pull, which it is close to now. I want a good reset and no grit in the slack take up. Anyone had this done by a gunsmith you would recommend?
  2. Have a Pro. Lousy trigger. Anyone had a trigger job done, and if so, who, where and are you happy with it.
  3. Have 2 M&Ps, both in 9mm. 2 XDs, one in 9, one in 45. The MPs are my favorite, and super guns if you have a pro trigger job done. The triggers are better out of the box on the XD, but to me MPs still get the nod.
  4. Yep, same thing here. Have a series 70 Colt Combat Commander. I had trijicon sights and Colt put an extended grip safety on, but still not ringing my bell. Just sits in the safe. Been thinking about selling it.......but then again not since I've had it forever. Think I would shoot a Sig 1911 a lot more than this gun.
  5. I think it will all go back to your training. There is a saying that one will only be 50% as good as your skill level, and that you can't miss fast enough to get good hits. At close range, <7yds, just putting the front sight on the target should give you a hit. More distance= more time needed to align your sight picture/sights. One can read numerous accounts of multiple shots being fired at close range and nobody gets a scratch. No doubt these shooters had a) very low skill level to start with or thought point shooting was good enough.
  6. Go ahead and start with a barrel tumbler and stainless steel media. You won't be sorry and your rounds will look like new.
  7. Something to think about. 230gr.FMJ is more likely to over penetrate and shoot through. So my big reason to shoot expanding ammo is to avoid shoot through and injury to someone else. This is true for all calibers.

    CZ P07 .40 Rocks!

Yep, I was there when it laid down......real bummer, but he did make the Glock look good. He shot Graduate Level for his first trip out. If he had his CZ probably would have been head-of-the-class.
  10. Drying is no big deal. Put the tennis shoe rack inside the clothers dryer and place the brass on a cookie sheet or similar item. 30 mins and they're dry.
  11. I have a law firm's '800' number on my speed dial...answered 24/7. I will call them right after calling 911. I will be cooperative with the police, give them the minimum but truthful info unless advised otherwise. One of the issues, especially in a time of stress, is saying way too much. The police are also under stress. Can you be sure at any hearing or trial that their recall will accurately convey what you said? What you don't say can't be used against you.
  12. A10, just another discussion on a forum....not a you against me sort of thing. I actually do 'all of the above'. Avoid some places that are posted. Honor the signs most of the time. But like ab, sometimes I evaluate the risk vs. benefit. TMF had me there for a moment on 'rightful assembly', but I go back to the point that doing so does infringe on others' rights, peace and quiet and does actively annoy others in a private property setting......different than being on the sidewalk. If I CC, no one knows, doesn't offend or frighten, and yes if asked to leave I would do so without protest.
  13. wd, I simply have the viewpoint of 1point and ab in that public establishments say come on in, we are open to the public. That is different than a workplace, your home, or your farm. I do not have the constitutional right to hunt or fish or run across your property. Your property rights are the trump in that case. I have read the 2nd Adm., not really that hard or that long....in fact, it is much more brief than this post......
  14. can't remember which manufacturer, but someone put a small bump on the mags to catch and prevent a free fall. May have been a CZ.
  15. That's a stretch, and can be offensive to others or the property owner....stepping on toes if you will. CC is neither. TMF I really never guessed you had that side given your picture!
  16. A business open to the public cannot discriminate. IMO infringing on my constitutional rights, especially concealed carry is such an infringment equal to forbidding my entry due to my color. Neither my color or my CC imposes on the propery owner. Wearing shorts to a black tie function is not a constitutionally protected act and not an equal analogy.
  17. If it is an emergency reload, no need to check for the mag......out of ammo is out of ammo. A tactical reload, one retains the mag anyway. As I mentioned in my first post, if the support hand has a mag in hand, there is no question either way. .
  18. Preferrably your mags should pass 'in the air' during the exchange. Dropping a mag could signal you are empty, thus possibly placing you at risk unless you are fully loaded. With type 3 malfunctions one generally does have to strip the mag after slidelock.
  19. Well, if you have to look 'extra hard' to see the sign, it's not a valid sign anyway.......carry on.
  20. Wow, from these stories a better topic title would be, " I stole this gun for $_______." Never been that lucky.
  21. Usually Remington Gun Club will be put on sale at Gander Mtn. or Dicks for about $5.50/bx.
  22. mine is 70SC34xxxx, bought in 1973. Satin Nickel finish.
  23. Nope, not hung up. Falls out easily in the seperator.
  24. 22/45 Ruger and never look back. My Ruger Single-Six is an old one, but still a lot of fun to shoot.
