I have M&P Pro 4" and 5", as well as the standard M&P....all in 9mm. Really like the Pro Series. XD's are fine. Glock would be my 3rd choice

Would-be robber didn't see this coming

probably....but certainly justifiable IMO -
I am sure that the high end guns listed here are fine, dependable firearms. Can't say anything bad about them, but I've never owned one. IMO, it is a lot like driving the upper end cars, or more relevant, high end shotguns like a Krieghoff, perazzi, DT10, Blaser, etc. Very well-made, and fine looking guns. I've seen people shoot just as bad with all of them, and some shoot 'em very well.....but it is the Indian not the arrow. No one should feel that you have to invest high $ to have fun and shoot well. I've got a Remington R1 with several thousand rounds through it and when benched will shoot 2" at 25 yds. Less than $500 in that gun. With that said, if you want an expensive item, gun, or whatever, and can afford it, and enjoy it, have at it but don't feel as though that is what is necessary to shoot well.......but it never hurts to look good while doing it.

5.0 WSF 124gr. Delta Prec. HP or Mont. Gold.

yep, Nov.2012 I paid $8/bx20 and that was "high", but it was for a class. PMC I recall. Lake City was going for around $380/1000 and everything else was lower.

Redding dies, spray 'em with Hornady cleaner/dry lube and Qtip around the 'steps' inside. Will hit it with the air compressor......good to go.

$160. and not all FOs are the same. The Dawson is like.....wow!. I am changing out the FO on my M&P pro for a Dawson as well. Tim Calhoun has also done some work for me. He is a great guy, reasonable, and I am sure you would be happy with his work as well.

Just had Coal Creek Armory replace the sights on my Remington R1. They cut the slide to fit a Novak rear and a Dawson FO. Great job.

Nice R1 on the Trading Post

I have a SIG, great shooter. I have a R1, just doing some sight work, but a real work horse. Colt Combat Commander, pretty, sentimental, a safe queen and my 3rd choice. If I had to pick one........go Sig.

I would mark where my taper crimp is set and gradually increase the crimp to see if the round will fall out of the chamber. I had this issue in my .45 and that was the solution. That is how I set up my 9mm with good results.

I have been using the Redding 9mm dies and am very satisfied with the results. I usually seat and crimp separately, but the Redding die I have has worked very well. What I have found with the jacketed bullets is that the resize is so small that the bullet simply cannot be pushed any deeper by accident. In fact, when pulling the bullets there will be a definite mark at the seated depth and the surface of the bullet is somewhat scuffed. The taper crimp is just enough to iron out the minimal bell at the mouth.

That's the way my research has advocated

Just for clarity, the Sig Mag does not hold the top round securely. It moves forward slightly, and in a quick reload, it may protrude a little more than the index finger can easily push back. At least that is my problem; not had that issue with the Wilson mags.

Just an update from my previous post. Since Tim worked on my barrel it has been flawless with everything. SWC, RN, HP....everything. And is the most accurate gun I have. It is a blast to shoot. If you like 1911s, go for it. By the way, throw the Sig mags away and stick to Wilson.

Got an email that Natchez has PPU 9mm available. Product code OQPPR92. Problem is you can't order from them in TN however.

Really depends on what your intentions are. As mentioned the Browning is always good, especially in the basic Citori. If you are doing high volumn shooting the x25 series are excellent. I have a 325 I've put 5000-8000 rounds a year through for at least the past 8-10 years. Personally would avoid the Ruger because it kicks like a mule. If you can find an old Remington SPR, it is a Baikal, and tank strong and a really inexpensive but great hunting gun. Heard a lot of good about CZs lately. Not all Rizzinis are created equal. Any of the Berrettas will be good. But they also have good, better, and best and the $$ are higher.

That is why shooting topless should be encouraged.........less likely for the brass to hang up

THIS X2 The Topic headline is not accurate. This vote had nothing to do with being for or against gun control. IMO Corker nor Alexander, or the other 14 for that matter, have not forsaken the 2nd Admendment with this vote. It is right to continue to be vocal, but to label our Senators traitors to the cause is premature...and hopefully not the case. Time will tell.

Absolutely on all accouts. I have been hit by various objects multiple times, even from other ranges with berms! Whether just walking on the range, watching, or participating it is a good idea to wear glasses.

same here, thanks for the heads-up -
I'll respect what others have advocated..don't release the slide on an empty chamber. BUT, it is hard for me to believe that is 'worse' for a gun than firing it 100's if not 1,000's of times. Additionally, holding the trigger back is ill-advised; you have just broken one of the safety rules of gun handling.

Best way to dry is in a wire basket in the clothes dryer . Just set it on the shoe rack

Didn't read it. Info from eye witness at a range. Not a squib, in this case, don't know anymore about the others. I'm not saying he did or didn't double up the load. He doesn't think so, just sayin I have 3 eyewitness accounts of these episodes......just passin it along. For me, use a RCBS powder check, a visual check when seating the bullet, and I weigh 2 or 3 rounds out of every 50. I like to keep my reloading costs down and a blown up gun doesn't help.
