  1. This is the hunter's honor shield, That he protects and cherishes its wildlife, sportsmen hunt, as it should be, honors the Creator in the creature.
  2. Incorrect. The police may be entering your house to help evacuate due to a fire at your house or the house next door that is threating to spread to your house. Also assuming who should be in your house may cause you to kill one of your children that came home late (you thought they were already home) or came home unexpectedly from college.
  3. One item that has been missing in this thread is identifying your target before you start shooting. Even if you are yelling out that you are armed, the other person may not understand what you are yelling. Could the person entering your house or bedroom be trying to save your life? Consider LEO or Fireman that are trying to quickly get people out of a house that is on fire. Or one of kids came home unexpectedly from college. I read about tragedies where the spouse shot their significant other because they thought they were still in the bed.
  4. I am not trying to start any calibur wars, I would like to know exactly what configuration the 45GAP you consider as outperforming the 45ACP? Thanks
  5. I have been thinking about how the OP handled this encounter in his apartment. Sometimes a foreigner will pretend to be unable to speak English when the situation is against them. As it stands, the OP will forever wonder if this was a simple mistake of entering the wrong apartment or someone trying to rob him. If it were a simple mistake, it must have been the first time this person has visit these apartments to see a friend. Otherwise, the person should have recognized immediately that interior of the apartment does not look like his friend’s apartment when he entered the door. In which he should have left the apartment immediately. Would it have been better to try to detain the person and call 911? My thinking is that you do not know this person, what was their motive or criminal history. It could be a simple mistake of accessing the wrong apartment. Or maybe not. Were there accomplices waiting near the building or in a car? By detaining the person, I am not suggesting going hands-on. Using the gun as a pervasive tool, motion to him to get on the floor. Yell GET DOWN while motioning with the gun you want him to lay down. Of course, if he turns and runs for the door I would not shoot, however I would give chase to my door to see where he goes, if others are involved, get physical descriptions and to call 911. What are your thoughts?

    40 vs the 9mm?

For clarity sake, all Glock models have the same unsupported design. Glock kB! FAQ v1.35 Any gun manufacture you choose can experience the Kaboom due to factory rounds that were overcharged or poor brass casing. Sage advice is to shoot whichever caliber you can shoot the most accurately. My advice is to try them at an indoor shooting range and rent the Glocks in the 9, 40 and 45 and put about 100 rounds through each model. This may require a few trips to the range, however you will over a period of time narrow which model of gun for a given caliber is best for you.

  10. High turnover rate is usually a sign of employees being treated poorly by management or the owner. Combine that will a high stress work environment and you have the perfect recipe for high turnover.
  11. Thank you for the information of what to look for in a belly band.
  12. Without the background checks will allow illegal purchases at a gun store for someone that would be rejected during the background check. Since we have background checks, illegal purchasers have to resort to going to gun shows, buying from private sellers or commit burglary at a home that has gun(s) to get a firearm. I want to make it harder for illegal gun purchases and the background checks accomplish that goal which is not a waste of money.
  13. Can anyone provide links to recommended belly bands?
  14. Did the FBI consider providing an option other than the 10mm for the personnel that has small hands or found the recoil of the 10mm too severe? Just reading the TGO proves that one gun size or caliber does not fit or work for all people.

  17. I use Shooter's Choice FP-10 Lubricant Elite. I noticed that BassPro carries FP-10 at their Nashville location. Some lubricants are great at rust protection however are not good as a lubrication and vice versa. I believe FP-10 provides the best of both.

  19. Committee close to forcing Murray recall election | Nashville City Paper: Nashville's Online Source for Daily News Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at 6:39pm By Nate Rau [/url] A campaign committee is close to having enough signatures to force a recall election of District 5 Metro Councilwoman Pam Murray, according to a media release sent on Tuesday. As first reported by The City Paper, the group filed a notice to recall the second-term Councilwoman on Aug. 14. A recall election requires 15 percent of the registered voters in the district, which would be about 900 voters. On Saturday about 30 District 5 residents canvassed the area to garner the necessary signatures. Murray reportedly hosted a Stop the Recall meeting on Monday evening, although this was unconfirmed and various attempts to reach her were unsuccessful. “The Metro Council sets our property taxes, votes on the budget, which includes our school board’s budget, and decides our zoning laws,†read a press release from the campaign committee We the People of District 5. “We are currently suffering economic turmoil. The last thing we need during these times is for our representative on Council spending most of their life working in Detroit, Michigan.†Murray was not immediately available for comment. The press release references media reports that Murray lives a majority of the time in Detroit, where she works as a social worker at a methadone clinic. Murray led the charge to rezone a Cleveland Street property, which faced stringent opposition from District 5 residents. The zoning bill was ultimately withdrawn when it was apparent the bill would not pass. An ethics complaint was also filed against Murray with the state ethics commission, alleging she lied on her ethics disclosure forms. The complaint is still pending. The campaign committee has until Sept. 14 to submit the necessary signatures to the Metro Clerk. If the signatures are verified by the Election Commission, a recall election would be held within 60 days.
