#3) Beretta CX4 Storm Carbine... flimsy controls and construction, would fail to feed EVERY shot... only good thing I can say is it was pleasantly accurate. #2) Jennings/Bryco 9mm... what a waste of pot metal. (but at least I can say it didn't misfire or jam) #1) Taurus PT25... ugly, innaccurate and it jammed more often than it fired.

Center of Mass (Human Body) Definiton?
molonlabetn replied to Oh Shoot's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Aim for the center of the biggest part of their body exposed to you... it's unlikely that if you ever have to shoot a person, they will be facing you like a silhouette. COM only defines a specific point under ideal circumstances. -
Sounds like a bad situation... Getting a lawyer is the best advice. Can't really speculate on the outcome. Depends on the reason you were stopped, etc... I hope you didn't just volunteer the information about possessing a firearm if it was unrelated to the stop. That seems to cause more trouble than it could ever solve.

So, I guess there's no reason to start wearing underwear now...

I'd hit it... she probably knows what she's doing, and that's what rubbers are for.

Hey... I can't dis on that show anymore. It got at least a thousand guys laid. To me the disgusting part is sensationalizing her promiscuity... but on the other hand, the world would be a boring place without loose women, I'm certainly not here to discourage it

You can save money buying a knock-off, and you won't notice a difference. Either way, you'll be spoiled for life, and it's well worth the money.

The P220 is one of the best service/combat .45acp pistols out there. Very accurate, excellent trigger, available in just about any trigger/action/finish/barrel-length flavor you could ask for. Come to think of it, I can't believe I don't own one myself... I'm going to have to change that soon.

How important is the 2A to your vote?
molonlabetn replied to JAB's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Yes, by default, since I only vote for candidates who will work to maintain the Constitution, not undermine or try to get around it. If they will not defend the Constitution they are campaigning in the wrong country. -
Mounting flashlight on the barrel...
molonlabetn replied to a topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
I don't see a problem, unless you shoot alot with it on there and get it hot. -

Problems with those that carry in a restaurant?
molonlabetn replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Where should the line be drawn then? The State of TN has already stated that they don't trust anyone in public with a firearm, unless they have a hunting or carry permit... If we're going to have carry permits, and them mean anything at all, perhaps the solution would be to make the qualification actually challenging, instead of picking and choosing where is and is not appropriate to excercise what we do have, based simply on opinion? For that matter, why not make any type of permit/license more challenging to get... drivers licenses, for instance? That certainly makes more sense than restricting all drivers from being able to operate a motor vehicle near a school, to or from an establishment which serves alcohol, or anywhere there was a semi-crowded pedestrians' crosswalk or sidewalk which most drivers couldn't be trusted not to hit if reacting to an emergency. Passing regulatory laws and restrictions and requiring state certifications doesn't protect people... it never has and never will. Individual action based on the common sense of an educated mind, personal responsibility with consideration towards others, and practiced skill to effectively do what is right are all we have to protect ourselves... Effective punishment for those who lack those qualities, and act upon evil is all we have to protect each other. The problem is that our society, on the most part, has lost both of those qualities... and again, no amount of certification or regulation can replace them. -
Unless I am aware of who the victim is, and who the badguy is, I am distancing myself from a situation (for instance, I don't want to intercede in a situation and unknowingly draw on or shoot an undercover cop or another goodguy based on an incorrect assumption about a situation). If me or my loved ones are involved, there is no question about using every means available to prevent us from being harmed.

I had a Smith 940 for a while, loved it. Advantages... 9mm ammo is cheaper, more options, commonality with my other pistols, more powerful from a short barrel than the hottest .38spl. Basically, I can have a revolver without adding another caliber to keep stock of. Disadvantages... after several boxes of ammo casings will stick in the chambers, the moon-clips can be a pain to load/unload. I want another one... but make it a 625. The 940 was bulkier/heavier/lower capacity than any other 9mm pocket pistol. But the 625 would make a good range/combat revolver.

I've got a Police LTR in .223... One of the sweetest bolt-guns I've messed with, as far as all-round use goes.

Mexico anger high as US Border Patrol kills teen

Too bad the American people can't be equally 'angered' by the attack of our border personnel by Mexican Insurgents. Throwing rocks at armed men = Darwin Award -
Noise Suppression Headphones

Peltor Tactical... light, very effective. -
It is a great size, and a wonderful shooter. I had one in .357sig for a few years and always carried it. The biggest drawbacks are the weight and the limited capacity. I carry a Glock now, but often miss the quality and noticably better accuracy of the SIG. The weight isn't excessive... it's like carrying a compact 1911. The 2 reasons that I chose something else was the capacity and my dislike of DA/SA triggers. I should have held out for a P239 SAS.

My take is, if it's relevant, the LEO will ask for it... to put it in perspective, there is no reason to volunteer to show my driver's license in the event that a LEO wants to see my permit because I am carrying.

Elders say "these kids today all dress and act alike"
molonlabetn replied to strickj's topic in General Chat
I've seen plenty of worthless people who are twice my age... irresponsibility knows few boundaries. The only common theme as far as anyone I know who is not self sufficient, or not trying to be, is that they are liberal. And of course, not all liberals are addicted to public aid, but everyone who is a addicted to those social programs is liberal, and the rest are feeding off of that dependance. It's like the Great American Club for the Socially Dependant. We just see it more in young people because they have greater exposure to mainstream media, which would create socialistic bias in anyone so weakminded that they didn't do their own research on matters, and of course the influence of public schools. As far as the culture of young people goes... it really hasn't changed much. The music is by different artists and the clothes are by different designers, but the attitudes are identical, if you actually look at it objectively. The biggest difference has been as a result of technology... more connections over longer distances can be created, often totally replacing the true, deep, meaningful relationships, because we're always being inundated by a waterfall of information and conversation. nobody really cares about each other anymore... there is no honor... and everyone embracing that culture (young and old) are only in it for what they can get, with as little effort as possible, to the detriment of those actually working with a goal insead of content to maintain the status quo (with everyone else).
