  1. Sweet gun... If I still had an AR, I'd be buying one of those uppers. I could see something like that SBR'ed + Silencer being an impressive CQ weapon.
  2. "Good night, and good luck..." I try to not pay attention to traitors, other than to know what their range is.
  3. I'm more worried about zombies being elected to office than roaming the streets looking for fresh brains to eat... At least on the street one could shoot them.
  4. Does DPMS make a select-fire version of their .308 AP4 Carbine? That would be pretty cool too.
  5. Nope... have been interested in trying that for a while though. What are the regulations involved?
  6. Could print up a few hundred of these, given Oleg's permission: http://olegvolk.net/gallery/technology/arms/gunfree0352.jpg.html Publicity, perhaps... but truthfully, the strongest defense would be an offense. Any action should be with due measure and consideration, of course.
  7. Joe, did you see this one?: It's here: http://olegvolk.net/gallery/technology/arms/FAL5665.jpg.html
  8. Who's up for an OC meetup in Nashville that afternoon?
  9. I don't see a huge difference...
  10. I just read somewhere that Beretta has a "C" version of the PX4 trigger system (which stands for 'Constant Action'), it is described as a lighter, pre-cocked DAO system... different than the DAO "D" model. Perhaps an answer to LEM and DAK? This certainly increases my interest...
  11. So that's what the light blue text is for, heh... $375 aint too bad. Thanks... I totally missed it before.
  12. That does sound like a blast... I wonder what the cost is?

  14. Done. This is an excellent idea... I'm sure we'll get plenty of participation.
  15. I won't know until the week before whether I'll be able to make it... Like this last time, I didn't know until the day before.
  16. Well, his wife runs the place, so I have little doubt that he's got a special spot there waiting for him.
  17. Thing is... there is a lower 'form' of fear or intention to commit bodily injury known as 'Assault'. Assault is a misdemeanor. Also: Introducing a deadly-weapon into a confrontation which would be considered assault upon you, might be interpreted as Aggravated Assault by you... which is a Felony. Would I commit a Felony to prevent a Misdemeanor? Uh, that would be no...
  18. A threat of harm is not absolute... meaning, it is not black vs. white or non-threat vs. deadly-threat. There is a huge difference between a testosterone-laden idiot who wants to knock you down or punch you for whatever reason, and an ill-intentioned mugger/rapist/murderer/crazy-homeless who is desperate or will delight in your permanent suffering. One requires potentially lethal-force, the other is simply someone looking for a fight (unless there is an articulable disparity of force, causing the result of such an encounter to be more severe than a black-eye and wounded ego). Would I shoot somebody who wanted to push me around for 'eyeing his girl' or something? No... but if I couldn't get away, I'd like to be able to use a more legitimate method of halting his aggression than participating in a brawl. If a weapon is present, yeah, there will be lead flying... but when confronting someone who wants to assert their ego (or insanity), to intimidate you or rough you up, it is not likely that drawing a handgun would be justified. If I draw, I'm drawing to fire, not to one-up an aggressor who could easily call my bluff and continue... Then what? I shoot somebody for approaching me simply because I was afraid? That wouldn't end well for me. This is one issue in which I completely agree with Dave. Defensive force does not start at the deadly level.
  19. We had every intention of coming... but my employer successfully thwarted that (unintentionally, of course)
  20. I simply see non/less-lethal as a tool to avoid escalation of an unexpected, undesirable situation... for instance, juveniles who have decided to 'rough' you up... it wouldn't turn out well to shoot them as the first option, without evidence of some disparity of force. The 'what-if' possibilities are endless for advantages/disadvantaged to using a non/less-lethal weapon... just like there are for using a deadly-weapon. The potential need for either is slim, but I'd rather have the best option available in that unlikely event.
  21. It's interesting that the gun which has the compensated barrel seems to be experiencing less muzzle-rise... could just be the photo though. F/A pistols are indeed a hoot. Didn't mean to come off like a smarty-pants, it was just the first thing I noticed, sorry... I'm surprised that the website didn't make that distinction.
  22. Those aren't Glock 18s... those are Glock 17s which have been converted to F/A using disconnector interruptors on the rear of the slides. G18s have a selector switch on the sides of the slide (similar to the safety on a Beretta). Still very cool though...
  23. Go to your User Control Panel, and click 'Edit Profile'... on that page, under 'Optional Information', you can type in a custom user title. Enjoy! This option is only available to Benefactors, I believe... of which I see you are one.
