Frank, I have moved your previous ad into the classifieds section: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1649 This duplicate post will be closed in order to prevent confusion. Welcome, by the way!

Yeah, it makes no sense to assume that a criminal who is bent upon using a firearm to commit a crime will be worried at all about breaking some ridiculous code, in the process... The only laws which should be on the books, are those which punish harmful behavior. Everything else is superfluous policement of inanimate objects and unsubstantiated thoughts or possibilities. Those only serve to ineffectively replace common sense and personal responsibility.

I'm pretty sure that France has a standing declaration of unconditional surrender on file with every country whose military consists of at least a teenager armed with a sling-shot. Most folks aren't aware that the French national flag is solid white... they only fly the colorful one because it's fashionable.

Glad you found us! Enjoy!

Welcome to the fray! Make yourself at home...

Some people absolutely slam Hi-Points... but think about it for a minute, what other firearm will give you acceptable performance for little more than $100? In terms of Glock there are alternatives far and wide which are arguably better (in its price range), and, at least the Hi-Point has a manual safety... Not that I would advocate choosing a Hi-Point over a Glock, in the least, but considering the price difference, there is little room for comparison.

They are friction-fit, no set-screw. You will need a sight-pushing tool in order to get the best alignment with the least fuss. I'd recommend taking it to a Glock armorer (who will have the tool), and let them install and align your sights. The $25-$35 it will cost will be well worth avoiding the frustration of a scored slide or sights.

While the questionability of such firearms as Hi-Points is worth considering, as long as it is up to the task and its limitations understood, nothing is of greater importance than its proper application by the user. Congratulations on your purchase, may it serve you well.

Speaking of Kimber (and crack ), has anybody heard or seen any recent news regarding the KPD? I can't say that I'm all that interested in getting one, but nothing has made it to market, so far, but it's still prominently displayed on their website...

If you consider suicides and such, I don't doubt it... but the murder numbers are closer to 35 per 100,000. http://www.disastercenter.com/crime/dccrime.htm But, we should also consider that the majority of US military fatalities were due to IEDs and such, not nearly as many to gunshots... that levels the playing-field significantly. I don't think we have the proper data to properly compare D.C. to a war-zone, for one, in D.C. the victims were defenseless... And two, D.C is a much smaller and more congested geographical area.

Wow... I've seen and heard about the flimsiness of the Fobus construction, but never that they would melt. Makes sense though... low-grade plastic. Interesting...
-
I keep a spare 30rd stick in my Smart-Carry though...

Don't sweat it, humor abounds on here . Not everybody likes Fobus (or Glock, for that matter... including me), but the info is certainly appreciated. You'll come to find that just about any specific equipment which comes up in our many discussions gets beat to death with opinions both pro and con... We don't really all have pine-cones lodged in our lower digestive tracts, it's just fun to take a position simply in order to incite healthy debate. Welcome, by the way.

Tell your brother's friend that he did the right thing, and everyone at that party should be thanking him for standing up when it counted. And give him my condolances for going through that... no doubt there's alot going through his mind right now. God Bless.

Just think how much money you could have saved on x-ray equipment...

I'm not military... but I do my part.

American Heritage Dictionary - Cite This Source war·ri·or (wôr'ē-ər, wŏr'-) Pronunciation Key n. One who is engaged in or experienced in battle. One who is engaged aggressively or energetically in an activity, cause, or conflict: neighborhood warriors fighting against developers. I don't see any reference to top physical shape as a pre-requisite to zealously defending one-self... It's certainly advisable, but noone knows when they will be thrust into a fight for their life, in order to make perfect preparation. We are not all paid soldiers, but paid soldiers are not always there to fight every battle for us. By comparison, I am not a trained fire-fighter, and I don't have a fire-engine in my garage... but I'll be damned if I don't have a fire-extinguisher and know how to at least use it... I'm sure some fat people can use a fire-extinguisher effectively too.

If, through cowardice, a self-proclaimed 'warrior' abandons the people whose backs he is supposed to be watching, resulting in their death... that's scum.

He was killed legally? A criminal is a criminal, and mistakes happen. But, back on topic... Jim will be sorely missed. My prayers go out to his family, and my thanks for all of his contributions.

Tell the idiot who posted last about how guns are more likely to be stolen and used against you than used successfully to prevent a crime to go check their facts... as usual, left-wing anti-gun propagandites totally ignores the facts, and makes up their own to suit their argument. yeesh... Per the US gov stats, there are approx 220,000 guns stolen per year... by my math, that's 1/4 as many times that guns are used in self-defense. EVEN IF the numbers were close to equal, that's still 800,000 people who were NOT harmed because they were armed! Hey... that'd make a neat slogan: "Armed or Harmed, 800-thousand survivors a year can't be wrong"...

Welcome! Jump right in and make yourself at home! What make/model handgun did you purchase? Are you considering getting your Handgun Carry Permit?

Try this guy... he's in Gallatin: http://www.legallyarmed.com/complete.htm Never been there, but Google pulled it up.
