  1. I got a picture on my phone... I'll post it up shortly. It was a very full day.
  2. Either that, or a P239... what caliber is it? Either way, congrats.
  3. So that was YOU?!
  4. Just wanted to leave it open for the J-frame argument, as well...
  5. I've wanted a steel, full-size Baby Eagle in 9mm for a long time.
  6. I'd have to go with: 1. Any S&W Revolver 2. A 1911 3. A .22lr rifle (10/22 seems to be the universal draw) 4. A 12ga shotgun (Remington Mossberg or Winchester, take your pick) 5. A 'military-style' rifle (AR15, AK, Garand, etc...)
  7. There's nothing wrong with cops carrying anywhere. The law already 'dicks' both groups. The problem is that the law is essentially the same for both groups, and since it has not been changed, there exists a double standard when it is enforced discriminantly. So, yes, if it would bring attention to the bad law, because I think we all agree the law-enforcement community should help us do something about it... this is the best way for them to be forced to realize it. And moreover, move away from the elitist attitude that they are the only ones 'professional enough' to be entrusted with the ability to stop a whacko holding up an Applebees.

    .327 Magnum

No, it won't. But it wasn't intended to. It is better in many ways, when you consider that it packs significant power, without the wrist-wrenching overkill of recoil by a .357mag in an airweight. Would make a great short range varmint caliber from a chamber-reamed .32h&r lever-action, too...
  9. The problem isn't so much that the cops' technically illegal activities aren't being punished... it's that we should be presenting a united front to change the law for both armed groups, neither of which should be forced to be defenseless based on the nature of the resturaunt we choose. Pointing out that there is a double standard here, is totally valid. The fact that some don't like it is evidence of a completely different problem with regard to the attitudes of some LEOs, actually.
  10. Had that rail on my Tantal, with a vertical foregrip. Made the gun handle very nicely.

    .327 Magnum

If S&W ever gets on-board with this caliber in a J-Frame, it will probably become very popular. I would certainly buy one of these before a .38spl.
  12. I could change his user title to reflect the apparent affinity he has for 'Code Pink Breast Milk'... that would be fun.
  13. Out of that list, I'd choose the FAL. Not on the list, I'd probably opt for a DPMS .308 AP-4. Simply... they just have the best ergonomics and controls layout.
  14. Why buy the ice-cream when you can get the milk for free?
  15. I will be there.
  16. I like my SLP 1000% more than the M1S90 I used to have.
  17. Drat... foiled again!
  18. I've never heard of a manufacturer declining to repair a firearm which the owner had not 'registered' with them. The warranty cards are a marketing tool, more than anything, I bet... so they can track their customer base and sales exposure. I don't fill them out, simply because I think it's unnecessary (and I usually lose the card before I could fill it out, anyways). It wouldn't do much good to be paranoid, since if you ever did send the gun in for repairs, they'll get your information anyways.
  19. I don't know what to say... Mars, I'm proud to have known you, and disappointed to have never met you. You were a god-send earlier this year, to me, and the lesson you leave now is not lost on me. You will be missed.
  20. Had some wings at the local watering hole, and watched the Vols get stomped.
  21. 200gr in one of the premium brands would be a good option... my take on the 185gr and 165gr JHPs in .45acp is that, in those weights, and with the likely penetration & expansion performance you'd get, one would be just as well off with .40s&w in 165gr or 180gr. And you'd have a few more rounds in the mag, to boot. Higher pressure cartridges are more efficient in short barrelled guns, generally (more rapid acceleration). +P is the more obvious solution, but with it your gun becomes less manageable (wear & tear is negligable though, in modern pistols).
  22. Since, in a defensive situation, I would expect to be pulling the trigger pretty rapidly already, and that second pull would only take a split second... I really don't see it as a disadvantage, even though the possibility of the problem only being a hard primer which a second strike would ignite is low. If the danger really is so imminent that a few hundredths of a second is that crucial... I'd honestly be evaluating more up-close-and-personal ways to neutralize the threat, anyways (I would hope). I don't carry a pistol with second-strike capability... but it certainly wouldn't be any disadvantage for the subsequent trigger pull (concious or not) to have the possibility of firing the gun. RELYING on it to do so, I agree, is foolhardy... but the redundancy itself would be more likely to save a life than not.
  23. They just take a different follower, based on what I've seen (Hero-Gear had one which I got a chance to inspect).
  24. They are interchangeable, yes (as long as it is not a double-stack, high-capacity gun). But not all 1911 mags are created equal. I have some of those Springfield mags, and they have been the source of many failures in several 1911s I've used them in. I will give them to you if you really want them. (I have 3). Not worth the $7 apiece, IMO.
  25. It's always time to go shooting.
