    Decockers

In their marketing video they called it a striker deactivation button so that the gun can be disassembled without having to pull the trigger.  The button is recessed into the side of the gun.  Its not practical to use as a casual decocker.
  2.   Same thing I do, but only with TGO members.  I am sure we get our share of dirtbags at times, but the staff here do a good job of keeping them on the run.

^^^  Why would anyone want to carry "cocked and locked" with a double action pistol?  Just curious...
  4. Ammo can?  That's a lot to take to the range with you.
  5. Good idea.  Better than the tupperware bowl I stole out of the kitchen for mine.
  6. Good one.  Thank you for lightening my third shift.
  7. Yes, there is no reason to rewrite it.  It works fine the way it is and should not be messed with or rewritten in anyway.   That said if I were the POTUS I would write the following executive order (only word-smithed by a pro which I am most certainly not)   The United States military is the most powerful fighting force the world has ever known and will fight to the last soldier, sailor, airman, and marine to defend the United States of America from any enemy wishing to conquer her.  That said there is no guarantee that the United States military could not possibly lose a conventional war to keep a nation, or group of nations, from invading the United States.   The Militia of the United States is hereby defined as every man and woman in the United States who would live their lives as a free people and no other way.  It will forever be the function of these citizens to hold the last line of defense against the aggression of nations and deny them the ability to hold the United States by bleeding them of their personnel, materials, and moral to fight.   The United States military stands always ready to sacrifice and defend against foreign invasion, and so also the citizens of the United States must also stand ready to defend our great nation.  Only thru the mutual cooperation of the US military and our citizen will we guarantee that no nation will ever seek to invade and conquer the United States of America.     I can dream right?
  8. Oh yeah, and I am all for the increased safety...  It just bugs me sometimes is all.
  9. I wish gun makers could do what I plan on doing with any new legislation, after the fight to stop it is over that is, and ignore it totally.  I know they cannot do that, but hey, one can wish.
  10. I will admit it.  I do not own a safe.  I have a cheap Snap-On brand locked metal cabinet most of my guns stay in.  My collection is your run of the mill lever action-pump-revolver deal, and a good safe would cost more than any two of my guns are worth.  It's just not a financial possibility for me right now anyway.   My children are very gun-educated, have no curiosity, and are fine.  I keep the Snap-On brand cabinet as a discouragement to visitors, especially those in their age group, and so that if there was a break in the insurance company would pay up.   All that said if someone wants to give me a safe they don't need anymore I will be happy to take it.
  11. It's a wonder we did not all die growing up with dad's long guns in a glass case and handguns in the top of his closet, over the stove, on top the tv, all loaded.  I am all for gun safety, but geez...   Sorry, I know we have to change with the times, and embrace new safety ideas and innovations, but sometimes it gets to me.
  12. I got a notice like that.  The notice also said that the amount spent was not reported to the state............  Just sayin.
  13. I have decided that if an overgrown 22 is a high powered rifle my 30-06 must be artillery.  From now on I shall call it my assault artillery piece.
  14. Welcome to the forum.  I am sure you will find exactly what you are looking for here.
  15. EDC in the trunk of a car/truck or on your person?
  16.   We are homeschooling our 5 year old starting next year.  Her social interaction will come from a local loose "club" of families that homeschool.  See, we are in the 21st century now, and there are other ways to find people outside the home than just public schools.  She will also get additional social interaction from church, the martial arts class she is starting next year, and eventually girl scouts and 4H.  I don't think her reaction to issues will be to cry for mommy and daddy.   Given you seemed to have appointed yourself the judge of the required intelligence to home school do we need to send you an application for approval?   I do not feel the gun free zones are going away anytime soon, and even if they do I do not think that our public educational system is going to dramatically improve over the next few years.  Homeschooling will allow us to focus on areas she has trouble with and yet allow her to expand beyond her grade level in areas she shows ability.  It's a flexibility that schools do not have.  We can also take her out into the woods to learn about the real world outside of modern society in addition to text books and online resources.   Homeschooling is going to be a challenge living on a single income at the bottom end of middle class, but these are the sacrifices that built this country.  This modern both parents have to work outside the home society makes me sick.  I realize that price forces a lot of it, but there is a lot of "doing without" that people could be doing too in my opinion.
  17. The bulk of liberals believe the exact same thing about you.
  18. I keep my GP100 loaded and ready in a high place close to me.  I figure if 6 rounds of 125 gr. JHP .357 magnum is not enough I can always beat them with the 3 pounds of stainless steel.  I plan on getting some type of quick opening safe, but it will have to be big enough for this hog leg.
  19. I have had to all but stop shooting 9mm as I do not load for it, and cannot seem to find more at a good cost.  I do load .38, so my Ruger has been getting a good workout.  I got lucky and ordered a case of .22LR before the panic, so I am not too bad off there, but I am sure hoping the credit bills come due on the stock up buying so we can get back to normal.
  20. Welcome, and yes it is quite flat around here....
