  1. First off a company that can't tell the difference between a dog problem and a lazy driver isn't my problem. I deal with people as my job, usually people who did something stupid and want me to take the blame for it. So I get the stupid owner bit. As I am not a stupid owner, and won't be pulling stupid owner tricks, if I call to complain about my package I expect to be told the truth. If my dog was the problem, I'll fix it. Point being, I don't expect my dog to be punished just because your boss/company is being a ****. If she gets between you and the truck etc, then yep pepper spray/kick whatever you have to do. I've done it to other people's dogs in situations where they wouldn't let me leave the area. But I have also seen people move toward my dog to spray her while she was in OUR yard. That is crap I won't put up with. Let me be clear. If my dog is attacking you for simply walking around, and you have a legitimate reason to be there etc and you do everything in your power right and you kill her, yea I'll be pissed. I'll probably cuss you till your momma's feelings are hurt. Then I will get over it and apologize. If however, you pepper spray (which has already sent her to the vet once with life threatening issues) or shoot her just because you don't want an ass-chewing when you get back to work, then expect to retain counsel or get friendly with the company's legal team. Now do you see the difference? I am not a moron. I am however extremely attached to my dog, and I will react with extreme emotion if someone attacks her. Same as if you punched my kid. If he attacks you out of the blue with a knife, my apologies and info for any medical bills. If on the other hand he acts a fool and just stands there cussing you, better keep your hands and everything else to yourself.
  2. Heads in fish tanks....there's the first clue Seriously, the guy is nuts. That is straight up psychopath trophy taking right there.
  3. I'm not a rifle guy, but I was wondering about that....truly sad if I caught it....
  4. Never heard of any law that would prevent that. Assuming they wouldn't be violating a law by possessing one, ie felons, some city ordinance involving schools etc.
  5. Doesn't work? You mean as in they pretend to give a crap, and then do nothing? That is exactly what I expect to happen. I think perhaps you think I am some idiot who expects the guy to magically know my dog isn't psycho? That I believe in the Tooth Fairy perhaps? I simply expect someone in a job like that to know how to act around dogs. Several times in my life I delivered pizzas and I never had what I would consider a negative encounter with a dog. Had a few that I thought might go south, but I didn't act in a way that would aggravate the situation. Point being, if the dog is attacking you, and you didn't instigate it, then yes you have every right to defend yourself. But if the dog warns you off, and you continue to approach, then what part of you asked for it do you not get? How is that any different from me yelling I have a gun and you still kick my door in?
  6. First off, I could do plenty besides cuss. Which I would do, and do my damnedest to get him pissed enough to hit me so I could whup his ass. Next I would call the company and proceed to tell as many people as I can get on the phone what happened. That said, my dog doesn't attack people. She may growl, at which point you better stop or back up. You continue forward and hell yea she has a right to chew on your butt without retaliation. Second, I've taken a baseball bat to neighbor's pet dogs who were eating a cat. I didn't say chasing or harassing, basically had the cat down and chewing on it. Not sure what happened with the dogs, but I would up with a pet cat (the vet was very flexible on the bill after hearing how I acquired the cat).
  7. I would say they need to get their own carry permits....
  8. Defiance looks like it has potential...at least from the effort they are putting into the effects etc.
  9. I also like how they didn't do a "control" test or didn't show if they did, on how the cops would have reacted in the same situation. How many of them are trained to unholster from under a shirt like that???
  10. Not a website, but I wasn't sure if it rated it's on thread. Amazon has some free Kindle books and stumbled across this one on canning methods. Haven't read it yet, but it's free so figure worth the price at least!! **edit** This one details a "cold-pack" method of canning. Still uses heat but supposedly faster and with less handling of the food. Link
  11. Duh..shoot the guy who tripped you. Knee capping works well, but make sure to grab his gun so he doesn't return the favor.
  12. A 12 part DVD series blah blah. First volume is on Amazon for $15.
  13. It can be lethal though, as some dogs have reactions to it (*edit* Per my vet. I am not a spray/animal expert). I had some *deleted* spray my dog on my property as they walked by and she wound up at the vet. FTR, had a conversation with them about it the next time they came by and when it was clear they couldn't grasp the concept of property laws etc, I told them the next time they sprayed my dog I would take up the legality of it with their next of kin. Took a second for that to sink in and for some reason I haven't seen them walk in front of my place anymore.
  14. I think the idea was to get a safe place to stop. Remember the herds they mentioned earlier? IE they had to keep moving or risk getting swamped.
  15. Thought the other day for like the 42nd thousandth time I need to replace my work gloves since I snagged a hole in the thumb a while back and it occurred to me how much it would suck if I had to start out in a SHTF situation and these were my best pair. So my latest addition to this thread is think about everything you use as you go about your daily life and think would you need it more or less after it drops in the pan? If same or more, then might want to stock up.
  16. I can agree to that, and looking back I think I misunderstood where Hanzo was coming from. I will be quiet now.
  17. Yea I was wondering if it's a "prepper" type show, or pure fiction, or ???? In short, WTF was that?
  18. Half tempted to write up one without the "bubba" talk and see if we can't get it voted higher.....
  19. Isn't the maximum range of pepper spray really close to the distance (21'?) that a person on foot can cover during the time you are pulling your gun? Add in if you shoot a bad guy, you run the risk of people saying why didn't you try the pepper spray first? In other words, it sounds like a great idea on paper....
  20. I wonder about any place that doesn't list pricing along with the schedule. Either it's so high as to scare people off, or they just aren't business savvy enough to at least place a note to call about pricing etc. Neither of which encourages me to follow up.
  21. I have to wonder if the attitude wasn't on the part of the OP. Maybe those "hoops" are there for a reason? Asking you to remove the glasses due to a rule isn't attitude. Perhaps they were just trying to speed up the process for the people behind you. Did you question why you had to do it? Argue about it? I would much prefer you have that conversation while in line than when it's your turn to have your picture taken if you are in front of me. As Dennis said, giving attitude vastly increases your chances of getting attitude. If you walk in there with a sour expression, they are going to assume you are Caster and treat you as such!
  22. LOL I think I finally have a replacement after years of calling them Stop 'N Robs
  23. Playing with them leads to finishing them off, then turning around and realizing the scuffle attracted 42 of it's closest friends to the party. Gank and scoot FTW
