You start down a slippery slope when you seek to harm others simply because you don't agree with what they do.

Can't remember the place's name but it's across the street from Houston's meat market on Mt. Juliet road.

L.A. police find stash of 1,200 guns in dead man's home
10-Ring replied to tennesseetiger's topic in General Chat
So 1200 is an arsenal in California? Bunch of sissies, that's what we call taking a few guns out for a weekend of shooting around here. -
IIRC they have a corporate policy to post. I'll take Corner Pub over Papa John's any day though. I usually hit corner pub on Tuesdays for$5 hamburgers but I didn't have it in me tonight.

It disturbs me a little bit that I think "oh I need to post something in that one thread..." And I look the thread up and its been that long since its been posted in.

My shift will change in about three weeks and I should be able to attend. Seems like a laid back fun environment that is newb friendly? And that is newb as in competition shooting, not guns in general. What guns are acceptable? I assume service pistols? How about 1911's? What other gear do I need, holster guidelines? Heck maybe I'll just come out and watch one before I try it, I'm sure that would answer a lot of my questions.

I'll revive this thread that has been dead for almost two years because I have found a boot that I love. I work in an environment that is very hard on boots. I started with a pair of Ariats and I guess I just don't have an Ariat foot as they were very uncomfortable for me. I wore them everyday 12 hours a day for about 3 weeks, so they had plenty of time to break in but they hurt to walk more than 100 yards in. Finally I went to Elliott's seeking advice, I told the salesman my desires were waterproof, composite toe, and comfortable and must be a leather boot, and I really didn't care what they cost. He laughed and told me that no one made a boot that fit that criteria but that I should try the closest thing made. I tried on a pair of HyTest boots and they felt like house shoes! I looked for reviews online and could find little about them. I went ahead and bought them and I've been wearing them for about 3 months now and can't say enough good about them, super comfortable even on those days when I'm standing for long periods, I smile every morning when I put them on because they feel good! They were a bit pricey right at $200 but I'm willing to pay that to be comfortable at work. Plus my work environment is very rough on boots and they are holding up great. Just thought that I would pass my good experience on for others.

That bed liner looks good, what is it exactly?

I'm in, I'll bring the babes, beer, and bacon.

I like wolf from Wal-Mart, think it runs about $5.50 per 20. About a dollar more per box at Academy.

I like that last line. As a kid I was never allowed to have motorcycles but always wanted one. In my late 20's my mom came to visit and I came down the drive way to meet her on a hopped up CRF50 that had a ton of mods, she then saw the other five bikes in my garage and I told her "all I wanted as a child was one of these (pointing at the crf50,) but I didn't get one so I made up for it by getting these."

I'm sure that the Patriot Guard will show as well. Here in the South anyway it seems that the good guys consistently outnumber the Westboro idiots. A friend who it's in the PG told me of one event where a local sheriff told the morons from Westboro that if they got off their bus there was nothing that his department could do if the crowd decided to attack them because they were outnumbered. The Westboro Baptist Church left and the soldiers were able to have a peaceful funeral procession.

I like it!

I'd pm one of the mods. I was a part of the group until I deactivated Facebook several months back. BCGO it's one of the only things I miss about Facebook. Really good bunch of guys and girls, their numbers are significant. They often have get togethers, which I thought was cool. I can almost guarantee that you got overlooked somehow. Can you maybe cancel your request and put in a new request? EDIT: I just noticed that you said forum, I'm not aware if they actually have their own forum. When I was active with them all of their dealings were through a Facebook group. I'll add that they don't put up with low grade people. I'd meet up with a BCGO with as much confidence as I would a TGOer.

My grandfather would have had them on the phone for at least 45 minutes asking them what kind of windows they were selling, the best way to clean windows, or some other nonsense. He could really work them, everyone in the house would gather around to listen, I'd give anything to have been able to record those calls. IMO telemarketers are open game. They call us without invitation and try to get us to do things we don't want to do. I consider even the legitimate ones to be an unhonorable profession. Yeah, I understand it's a job, so it's being a crack dealer. Just because it's a job doesn't mean I'm going to give you a pass.

We decided to rent for a year before we buy another house because we haven't sold our old one yet. Took me forever to find a suitable house to rent in Mt.Juliet.
-
Have a good realtor look at it. They can best tell you if the repairs are worth the money. Sometimes you can spend $5k and sell the house for $25k more than you would have.
-
Sorry I reread you're post and saw what you wanted to do with the money. Personally I don't think I would mess with it in the current market.

I've flipped a couple of houses and done well with them. I'm also familiar with the housing market in Mt. Juliet. It all boils down to will you recover the investment in the upgrades and then some? Normally I'd spruce the place up with fresh paint and light fixtures but in the market you are in you will have ten people fighting to give you your asking price and they will pay closing costs. What exactly are the improvements that toy want to make? I can also recommend a couple of excellent real estate agents if you do not already have one.

I'm going to get back in it this year. Since I've last messed with a bow I've broken my left collarbone and I have a plate and nine pins in it, plus I had a third degree separation of my right shoulder, both still give me issues if I can't handle the bow I will go the crossbow route.

Spotify is the only app that I have ever paid for and it is well worth my $10 per month. Satellite radio was $18 a month when I cancelled it, and I don't miss it a bit. I'm not an itunes user and with Spotify I have no desire to be.

Back when I was bow hunting before this was just how I did it, I could draw 65-70 pounds but I kept my bow set at 55 and slung about 100 arrows per day. I figured shot placement was more important than power.

As a person whose roots are in Tennessee on both sides of my family for more generations than I even know, and a supporter of the Confederate flag I think that it is great that to you are flying it.

As a southerner I grew up thinking that the only way to prepare okra was to fry it. My wife sautas it in coconut oil and I've come to like it that way better than fried.
