  1. Hard to say if you did anything wrong to initiate the situation.  I would assume that #### started with the letter "F" which you should not have said in front of a small child, but it sounds like he was looking for a fight.  At the point someone threatens that they will pull me out of the car I have to assume that is their next move and I would be going for my gun at that point.    I just really hate the thought that there was a small child that got to witness this, and thankful that she didn't have to see her father or whoever she was with get shot.
  2.   You completely waste the opportunity to find every little thing that may have been dropped anywhere in your garage since you have lived there.
  3. Buy a good gun belt, a good holster has already been mentioned, it is amazing the difference a quality belt and holster make. Don't be a douche pickle.
  4. You are inviting trouble when you are out and Scott intoxicated and carrying a gun. Since we all have a different definition of the word "couple" a good rule of thumb would be to stay home after you pop the top. I knew a fella that was involved in a SD shooting while highly intoxicated, things did not go well for him legally. Basically he perceived the guy that he shot at as a threat when he wasn't, had he been sober there would have been no altercation. I believe that it would be irresponsible to propose that it's ever appropriate to mix guns and alcohol.
  5. Bunch of guys with flags on their trucks parading around Mt. Juliet today, they were all together.
  6. I work outside and usually spend periods of time each day in unairconditioned metal buildings. I can't stand to let my beard grow long in these conditions. I like to let it get thick in the winter though.
  7. What thickness of kydex works well?
  8. Saltine crackers and water balloons.
  9. They carry scarlet fever this time of year as well, I don't need with them until after a hard frost. I don't like killing much of anything while the young are depending on it either.
  10. I think they just put a target on all of their drivers.
  11. One huge benefit of .308 is that practice ammo is pretty cheap, can't say the same for .270.
  12. This thread just got a little bit more epic!
  13. Love 'em!
  14.   Remember that he has visited 57 states.
  15. I really like .270 as well. There are many great calibers out there but I wound up with a .270 when I was a kid and it worked well. I've killed dozens of deer with it, one required a dog to track because it was dark and in some very thick brush but the deer was only 25 yards from where I shot it, the rest fell within a few feet of being shot. Two were hit and got away, one was a head shot that didn't go well and I learned from that, the other drowned in nearby canal and could not be found. In my book that's a pretty good track record, I have always taken good shots except for the time I tried the headshot. The only thing I wouldn't recommend for Tennessee deer is a magnum because they are simply not necessary, and it's my opinion that small calibers such as .223 should only be used by people who have a lot of experience and know what they are doing, if used at all. Personally I own a couple but don't deer hunt with them.
  16. I would ban myself from ever carrying a gun again. But my immediate reaction I suppose would be to get with management and see if any significant items had recently been turned in, then I suppose I would notify police and report the gun stolen.
  17. I couldn't keep it, I would hate to involve the police and a possible bad media frenzy, leaving it would not be an option for me. But there is only one of those options that would allow me to lay down that night and easily drift off to sleep. Some may think believe that they would be entitled to it for finding it, I'm just not comfortable with that personally and our looks like I'm in good company here. Man this place is cool.
  18. Not nearly enough for sure.  I'd say maybe 3 times a month on a good month and 2-3 mags each time.  But that is all guns and not just my carry gun.  I have been trying to run a mag through my TCP each time I get out.  Mainly because I know that it does not function well if it's dirty and I can't bring myself to clean a clean gun.  I will say that the TCP has been 100% since I polished all of the contact points on the rail and the slide.  I usually carry a Glock as well but I honestly don't enjoy shooting Glocks, I probably fire my Glocks less than a half a dozen sessions per year combined.  Basically I get more range time with the guns that I probably wouldn't have on me if I needed them.
  19. That's pretty cool! 3 generations, that's like 9 years right?:-)
  20. As of 2010 Walmart retained all video for 6 months.  You can forget about them giving you a copy, but in a lawsuit I suppose that the video could be supenoaed.  They always have an excellent video system in TLE to protect THEM in the case of a lawsuit, which happens pretty often.  IIRC video can not be deleted at the store level.              - guy that used to watch the cameras at Walmart
  21. Had a couple of juvenile squirrels playing in the yard this afternoon. Didn't get the shot that I wanted but thought this one was pretty cool. Too dang hot tho stand out there for very long.
  22. Participates in thread that gets locked, starts another thread in order to continue the locked thread, that thread gets locked, gets a TGO vacation and then starts another thread asking why. Are you a member of Congress by chance?
  23. Do you seriously not know or are you just trying to stir up more trouble? A quick look at your recent content and it was very obvious to me.
  24. As much as I can't stand hipsters this is a good thing.  It will bring attention to the knife rights movement.  I've never been to NY but not surprisingly they need some reform from what I have heard.  Back in my Walmart asset protection days my manager, who was from NYC, told me not to try to apprehend any shoplifter who I thought may have a weapon, including a knife.  I looked at her like she was stupid (she was) and told her that this is Tennessee, everyone has a knife.  She told me that in New York only criminals carried knives.  I refrained from presenting a speech to the effect of "when knives are outlawed, only outlaws will have knives."
  25. Using Firefox and I can't see it.  Can't see it on my Android phone either.  I used that function a lot so I hope that it is kept.  In addition or instead though I would like to see a list that shows the most recently replied to threads.
