  1. I vote yes. Can’t have too many slides or just buy a 43. and then buy another 48; one is none….. I don’t have any of those so I’m not confirming compatibility. I’ll run 19/23 slides on my 26/27 frames and long slides on 21. Nice to have options.

we’ll a couple of weeks, we made it through Black Friday. Show us what you got and what you think about it. I haven’t made it to a p365 yet. Kind of on the want list but I hate change and expensive mags
  3. for some reason this symbol is offensive to some but in most all cases it’s just ok. yep. Not Compton with a switch and ready to brandish. I’m not getting the chit sued out of me, going to jail…to help you. *carry with exception of places LEO are there to protect and it’s written off limits. Beyond that if I’m forced to visit unfriendly territory with management that wants me to chance it, finding the non or improperly posted entrance and walk on. OWB or printing is going to get you flagged by some sensitive one day. Holsterless easier to hide in TN summer. 2a unfriendly employers active shooter/stabber/bat welding training: 1. run away (good choice), 2. hide (ok) 3. use improvised weapons if you have to fight. You can throw staplers and coffee all you want, Mexican carry for me.

Apologize to op for leading this astray. It’s not all about the old don’t support China and a lot of people are sensitive to that comment. I noted I own two primary arms 2x glx, made in China and typing on iPhone. These work for me and no other options for that criteria. It’s obvious to everyone here China makes real holosun and fake eotech/aim points. The optic choice should be what works for you and without compromising reliability. Everyone sees the dot differently and holosun has internet kudos from some with astigmatism but not all. I bought the 510 used to try but I don’t see the dot as clear as the holosun tube 403x I looked through. The best option is to source models that fit your application and try to look through before purchasing because everyone sees the dot differently. now on to red dots on self defense carry pistols are a fad.
  5. Not much interest/conversation on this forum. Updating thread to close out here but continuing to play with 223 in 22wmr or 5.7 range without expense of another platform. Changed buffer to the short strike industries pistol tube with guts that come with it, rest as above. Cartridge OAL was shortened to recommendation in Speer #14. Looking for reliable bottom and ejection isn’t forceful but consistent with fast fire. Brass was mixed demil because 2022, sorted head stamp for groups below. Plenty of room up from here and shooting 62gn at 2440fps AA2230 out of this setup with acceptable timing so not a dedicated setup like buffer mod mentioned above. Put on paper at 100 yards, no magnification and good results. Unknown 62gn BTSP 12.5 gn AA5744 ten shot avg 1510 es33 sd9 bump to 13gn nine shots avg 1554 es23 sd9 Speer 1053 70gn 13gn AA5744 five shots avg 1499 es16 sd7 Had some trouble with oal on Speer 1029 50gn but with SI pistol buffer noted above 13gn of 5744 velocity 1615 fps cycled fine on ten rounds at shorter oal but run out was jamming so had to sort to get through, pulling rest for retry will slowly try other runs and tweak At the cost of AA5744 the reduced charge isn’t saving anything. But good option for semi auto youth loads

I wasn’t questioning the quality. I own a few PA 2x GLx prism. they’re great and unique segment in optics market. I don’t like everything I supported with purchase, I bought new. Typing on iPhone made in PROC I own zero red dots on traditional pistols. I know it’s a maze of mounting footprints. Just a bummer that most patriots go to is holosun. Other manufacturers make stuff that doesn’t directly support the red army. like trijicon offers the opportunity to support CA and fed taxes. When you get to the 507k price there’s options to consider, I think. Maybe trijicon?

Delta point micro because it’s not made in a communist country and they’ve been hundred bucks off plus Loupold warranty. I bought a used holosun 510 and it’s been good but embarrassed so covered the logo. Just try to avoid it when I can find product that fits need and within amount or hold off and save up.
  8. adding update after two attempts over 9 months. Maybe someone else is curious so posting. First-wasn’t happening with carbine gas port. **Do understand for safety - this setup is dedicated to this load, mainly by buffer. Also dedicated to my assembly and bad things could happen, loads outside anything I could find published; even looking on random internet forums** Second- Only 223 off shelf barrel I found with decent dwell and pistol gas port was 10.5” BCA 5.56 1:7. using RTB nitride LM bcg, SA adjustable gas block 21 clicks which is one click into bleed off to extend life but will swap over to non adjustable after today and grateful it was there for tuning, springco yellow and two weights out of carbine buffer for 1.6oz total, chinesium flash forward 1.5” long with center and perimeter holes. I have more $$ in my cmmg 22lr bolt/barrel/mag purchase. Expensive AA5744 was in top three and available so AA5744 it is. Speer vol? has reduced 223 loads for 5744, but nothing over 55gn bullet and not semi auto friendly. 50gn Speer varmint and unknown 62gn soft point. OAL was just off rifling and close to mag length because I didn’t want a lot of jump/pressure loss. I’ll venture into 70gn after today but mindful fast rifle powder with heavy bullet = no published loads for a reason. Wanted heavier then the 50gn and some success with 50gn, but the 62gn was soft like ten ply and allowed cycling at lower end. Cycling and bolt locking back with 62gn ranging 11-13gn loads. 11gn charge was the reliable bolt lock floor, four o’clock brass. Stop here or change something like barrel extension or ream port, Ran up to 16gn of AA5744 with 62gnSP but needs standard weight buffer back in at 14gn due to brass at 1 o’clock and no lock back using standard weight till 15.5gn. Hodgdon web site starts 55gn bullets at 16.8gn, but aa5744 is not too position / case fill sensitive. next will be crony data and print on paper with oal adjustments. It will hit steel at hundred yards. Figure about 1600-1800 ft/sec extrapolating from reduced loads with 55gn.
  9. Lone wolf has a few 40s&w alpha wolf comps for 19.99 as they continue to abandon this offering. It only pukes out the top. But under 30 bucks delivered with first class usps transit worth consideration
  10. I use a few on 40 and 45 from the cheap tridelta style to Rowland and YHM and these are my go to. Usually just run lone wolf flash hider on 40 or rifle style thread protector if I want to mitigate recoil or slow timing. I ditched LW older wolf style. Didn’t like gas back toward me and the cheap tridelta flea bay comps do a good job. The YHM system is nice and stays put for me, doesn’t use of set screws and won’t get you side ports which you don’t need for 40s&w imo. not exactly what you’re looking for but chinessium tridelta style are good for 40 and YHM is nice, just be patient because they’re not always in stock. The new lone wolf look good but they’ve about abandoned 40 so no clue if available. I haven’t shopped for 40 cal comps in a decade but with 10mm popularity I’m surprised no replies and there may be good offerings out there. I have a heavy brass micro comp sometimes for 9mm and would stay away from the micro category if you want something noticeable outside of the aesthetic tactical dingle berry category. post what you try or settle on.
  11. lol. I ran a bbs off 64/128 platform and a stack of floppy drives. better days technology now is evil as we knew it would be
  12. mexican ambi. you do you
  13. Silly. Won’t stop capitalism. Sold as pull down or new components. But they’re trying their best to make it inconvenient. Background checks on ammo is popular conversation again because it’s a feel good do something. It’s about tracking what you do incrementally until you can’t leave home without your cell phone tracking movement like background checks on ammo does nothing other then logs someone purchasing what someone else considers too much promoting a to take your stuff. If you’re not emailing all government reps these days once a week you don’t care about 2A and even that probably puts you on a list. so goes back to wait if you can but have what you need to support your pursuit of happiness.
  14. Wait if you can, if you can’t get what you need. Just starting to nudge down. Another six months of Brandon’s economy will help. Maybe when 22lr hits a nickel a pew and 223 is 40 cent and primers show up in bulk indicating production is slowing.
  15. Welcome. There’s no wait to share and learn. More firearm knowledge around here when Wikipedia ok blocktalk.
  16. I’m with JustEd. A good comp gives lighter bang for the weight. But not so easy to add on a revolver And I’m a comp fan but not a ported barrel fan. I’ll download before I poke holes in top of barrel. Pros and cons to everything. If it’s a run of the mill pistol round your pokin holes so drop caliber is an option too.
  17. Agree. I just can’t own one other then 26/27/42 subcompact frames. Tried compact and full size several times then sold off. When I went back I moved to gen2 Timberwolf frames for my 21 and 23 models. They work for me and keep simplicity of a Glock
  18. that pistol has a gold barrel and a fancy laser. this is not the time to start recycling.
  19. yep. I had dedicated 40 s&w barrel. but 10mm chamber works if you clean. Owned 20, 29, the rock island 10mm, s&w310 - all gone. Found the 29 hard to time with hot loads. If you’re going the route of top velocity with long shot, 800x or heavy boutique ammo a red dot or rowlanator rear sight with recoil spring increase is the way to go. If you’re gonna run a comp buy a G20 and chop or Timberwolf short grip frame. I got tired of destroying brass with hot loads and moved on. Stay middle of the road and skip the off the shelf range ammo unless you need brass because it ant far from forty. and ppu brass was crap.
  20. Something to be proud of by the maker and the buyer. a man could stick that in a commie and call it a good life
  21. for the love of 45acp I’ve spent some time on this. I go back to cmmg for radial blowback to meditate recoil and bcg weights for tuning with ability to run 45acp to heavy 45 super loads. Plus b&t ghm45 doesn’t have Glock mag option. Have 6.6” barrel pistols so never pulled trigger because it would be a toy; another at caliber would be choice for serious work. There is a non braced 1.2k cmmg option, add your own. If you’re considering for serious work consider a short barrel rifle caliber in ar because you can throw similar lead with less recoil, less gas in face and close ammo costs at todays price then a 45acp blowback. I wouldn’t make any decision based on August. If you’re a brace person buy a brace before then and add to whatever. Expecting a grandfather clause is silly these days. They’ll make felons out of people with the rule or expect build to adhere to tally sheet limiting options. Learn to cheek weld and forget the brace. don’t let my comments ruin your fun. sharing my conclusion on a serious want I’ve sidestepped for a while.
  22. It’s against the law to kill any snake native to TN. Unless you pull the ole “it’s coming right for me”. Most are harmless and want to be left alone. don’t get fancy posting your trophy on social media
  23. I have several of those. Thanks for not skipping over. Lots of info on here.
  24. I’ve seen 45 acp in Davidson county; a blue county in regards to politics. Maybe people that live in tall skinny own 45acp.
